"That's not fair though!" Terry complained.
"No, it isn't. But life has never been fair. Anyone who says otherwise is lying or willfully ignorant." I say honestly.
"And what makes you say that?" Flitwick asked not denying it outright but obviously in disagreent.
"Lets ignore the argunt that fairness is subjective to begin with and start with ones birth. True fairness would be everyone being born identical. Sa size, shape, color, the whole deal. That's not how it works so theres sothing unfair. What about talent? So people are incredibly talented and others can barely reach diocrity even with the most strenuous effort, that's unfair. So people can go through their entire lives without a single setback while others hit tragedies and stumbling blocks the whole way, that's not fair at all. Fair isn't the base state of the world, it's what you must define for yourself." I said seriously.
"I can not deny the truth of your words. But do you an to say that one must simply accept their lot in life? Never strive for more?" Flitwick asked seriously.
I shook my head "To quote soone great: Control what you can control and ignore that which you can't. What you do with the gift of life is for you as an individual to decide. But you have that gift all the sa." I said honestly
Flitwick smiled at this "That is an excellent quote! Who said it?" he asked happily.
I grinned ", just now." I said with a laugh.
Terry groaned at that and Mike snickered while Flitwick looked taken back before laughing.
"A tad arrogant are we? Calling yourself great? Tsk tsk, for sha." Mike teased.
I shrugged "I AM pretty great aren't I though? I even helped you figure out the trick to casting spells!" I said with a dramatic flourish and bow.
"And so humble as well!" Flitwick joked and we all laughed.
Perhaps the topic had gotten heavy for a mont but that was how I saw the world. Unfair but subject to your own and others will. Where you begin you can't control but where you go from there is up to you. Still with that last bit we were in good moods when we finally entered the great hall. We barely got seated before Flitwick started bragging about what I had just said to the other professors.-
There were a few frowns am among them at first such as Mcgonagall, Dumbledore and Sprout but once Flitwick explained the deeper thoughts and quote I gave they all smiled with approval. Even Snape seed to faintly nod in agreent with it, though that may have been a trick of the light. Needless to say I got a ntal thumbs up from the professors table which would definitely co in handy. The al was almost the sa as it was the last three days and I realized I was going to get bored of this food quickly. -
It was all delicious of course since the house elves had clearly mastered each dish but the problem was there was no variety. This al was virtually identical in all ways. The dishes weren't special or unusual or even just slightly off. The flavor of each dish was the sa as the previous dinner just as the lunch and breakfast were the sa. One hobby of mine from my previous life was experinting with food, thai, Indian, cajun, french, chinese, Japanese, it didn't matter I'd try it all just to experience a difference in flavor.-
One of my favorite past tis was even making cheap ran and adding whatever I had in the fridge just to see if it turned out good or not. Naturally I'd get bored real fast after eating the sa thing over and over again. While I ate I decided then and there I was going to bring so cookbooks to those house elves to get so real variety hitting these table. Soon enough I had eaten my fill and headed to the washroom in the boys dorm in the common room. I was alone which worked out well as I closed my eyes and began trying to temper my body with electricity once more.-
I learned from my previous ti though and stopped up my nose so the stench didn't ss up my focus. I almost ca to regret that though as at so point the tingly warmth in my body turned into a full body ache as my skin was covered from head to toe with this oily stuff that positively REEKED. I was forced to stop and scrub it off or risk being too sore to even move much less clean myself up. It was ten thirty seven when I finally finished scrubbing myself and tucked into bed.-
The next morning I woke up absolutely RAVENOUS. My body wasn't sore anymore but it felt like my stomach was caving in as it rumbled and made my hunger known. I had to admit it wasn't for nothing though as I genuinely felt lighter than the day before, stronger. Further proof of my improvent was the sheer amount of food I consud at breakfast. So much in fact that everyone who was starting to get used to my appetite were left stunned again.-
"Seriously mate where do you even put all that food?" Mike asked in disbelief.
"In my stomach of course, I need a lot of food to fuel my body is all." I said like that explained anything.
"Are you sure you are a human and I don't know, a whale in disguise?" Terry asked jokingly.
"It's not that bad yet." I said rolling my eyes.
""It gets worse!?"" they both exclaid at once.
