"Hello, Luce," a voice beside them said.
They turned and Eve was standing there with a girl, "May we sit here?"
"Of course," he smiled at them and they sat down.
“This is Elena. Elena, this is Lucifer," She introduced them.
"Nice to et you, Elena," Lucifer said, which caused girl nad Elena to go into a giggle fit. "What did I say?"
"Nothing, it's how you said it," Eve smiled, “she is not used to hearing your unique accent.”
"Oh," Lucifer didn't really know what to say.
"Eet ees very nice to et you as well, Lucifer," Elena said in worse English than Fleur.
Lucifer smiled and looked around again, "Where the hell is Hermione?"
“Maybe she is that child Harry's hostage?” Eve suggested.
Lucifer felt dumb, 'How the fuck did I not consider that?'
But past an hour - the prospect's black,
Too late, it's gone, it won't co back.
Those words rang in his ears. His eyes widened and he stood up, imdiately marching towards Harry.
"Morningstar!" Ca Percy Weasley's voice, "Back to the stands!"
Lucifer gave Percy the middle finger as he walked to Harry.
He stopped right in front of his Gryffindor friend, "You bring Hermione back safe and on ti, Potter, you understand ?" His voice was clear, all of the Champions could easily hear him.
"You bring Hermione back to before the Hour is up, or so help , I will skin you alive."
Harry was visibly shaken, "O-of course," he had no choice but to agree.
Lucifer looked at him a mont longer before turning and going back to the stands.
He went back to his seat and felt tense.
"Well, all of our Champions are ready for the Second Task," Dumbledore's voice rang out, "which will start on my whistle. They have precisely an hour to recover what has been taken from them. On the count of three then. One... Two... Three!"
Dumbledore said and the whistle echoed in the shrilly cold air.
The entire stands around Lucifer erupted in cheer and applause.
He saw Harry stuff in the Gillyweed in his mouth and he sat anxiously, fearing for Hermione's safety.
'The only thing down there that could keep the hostages would be rpeople... and that's not counting any Magical Creatures like Kappas or Grindylows... I'm sure Dumbledore thinks he can trust rpeople, but they are not to be trusted... They are going to follow the Clue to a T and not give back the Hostage after an Hour passes,' Lucifer's hands felt clammy.
He'd never been so nervous before for Hermione's safety.
Fifty minutes had passed before anything happened, and Cedric surfaced with Cho, many people rushing over, congratulating him and helping them out of the water.
Lucifer stood up with the people around him and they all edged their way to the edge of the lake.
His heart rate had increased as Krum ca up from the water with one of his buddies from Durmstrang after two more minutes passed.
'Where is he?' He was getting worried.
Harry finally surfaced with Hermione at the fifty-seven minute mark and Lucifer rushed forward to help.
They got to the docks and he pulled Hermione out by her hand.
He pulled her into a hug, "I'm so glad you're okay!"
"Lucifer, of course I'm okay," she said, but her words had fallen on deaf ears as Fleur was being dragged out of the water.
"No! Gabrielle ! She is still down zere!" She shrieked as loud as her voice would allow, "I 'ave to save my seester!" Fleur fought against the Ministry Officials that dragged her away from the Lake.
Lucifer looked over at Fleur as Hermione was wrapped in a towel, "Not to worry!" Bagman said cheerfully, "the rChieftan will bring her back any mont."
'Naive fool,'Lucifer rushed towards the dock's edge and dove in, ignoring all of the screams behind him, telling him to not jump in.
Hermione couldn't believe what she'd just seen, "Harry! You have to go in after him!"
"I don't have anymore Gillyweed, Neville gave enough for just an Hour," Harry said and Hermione ran to the edge, stopping before it ran out, and she stood there, and waited.
Lucifer floated there for a mont,. concentrating on magic running through his veins, he let out a breath of whisper in old tongue, his vision getting more clearer.
Letting him see in the murky depths of the Black Lake, which very much lived up to its na.
He swam towards the bottom of the lake, where he was sure the rpeople lived, and fended off any Kappas or Grindylows that tried to attack him.
He swam until he found the rVillage; there was no sign at all of Gabrielle.
He looked around and saw a group of four or five rpeople heading towards a cavern.
He quickly swam his way over towards them, "Hey!" He yelled, and they turned.
When they saw him, they were poised with their Tridents, ready to defend themselves, and that was when Lucifer saw familiar blonde hair floating in the water.
"You are supposed to return her back to the surface after an hour!" Lucifer floated there, roughly sixty feet away.
"Our task is clear, if the human is not retrieved in an Hour, they are ours," one of the rpeople said.
"I can't let you do that," Lucifer aid his wand at them, "let her go, now."
"Return to the surface, or you will not return at all," they still threatened.
Lucifer had enough trying to reason with them when they clearly didn't care.
"Diffindo" He said and
one of the rpeople was suddenly cut in half.
He swam forward as the rpeople dispersed just enough to give him an opening to swim towards Gabrielle.
Lucifer was about six feet away from her when the rpeople sward him, his eyes glowed red.
Just blinking.
A shockwave went out from his body, sending the rpeople back away from him, but he didn't foresee Gabrielle also getting pushed back away from him.
He aid his wand at her, “Accio Gabrielle's clothing!" He knew the spell only worked on objects, so in his quick thinking he thought to use it on her clothes, and to his thankfulness, she ca with her clothes, otherwise that'd have been an awkward conversation above the surface.
"AAARRGGGHH!" He scread just as his hand had grabbed Gabrielle.
Lucifer looked to his left and saw rperson having stabbed its Ancient Trident into his side, deep into his body.
He scread again as he was suddenly stabbed three more tis, one in the leg, the second in the shoulder, and once on his right side, and he could feel it pierce into his lung.
A tallic taste entered his mouth imdiately.
Angered greatly, he aid his wand at one of the rpeople closest to him, and he pushed it into their scaly mouth.
"Confringo!" The explosion was contained within the rperon's head and it exploded into a gory, scaly ss.
The others ran, but he was not feeling rciful. He dispatched all of them with a swift wrath that only they deserved.
He sent Gabrielle upward as he wouldn't be able to swim with his hold on her.
He pushed his arms forward, then back behind him as he slowly ascended the murky depths of the Lake.
He was almost to the surface when he felt sothing grab his ankles.
His grip let go of his wand in the sudden jerking motion of him being taken back downward.
He turned and saw two rpeople had followed him all the way near the surface.
His eyes glowed red again as he thrust his hand downward, but instead of them flying backwards, they began choking, their gills having been cut off from taking in water.
His hand slowly closed into a fist, and when the fist ford, both necks of the rpeople snapped, severing the vertebrae in their necks.
With the last two pursuers dealt with, and the adrenalin starting to wear off in his body, he painfully swam towards the surface.
When his hand pushed through the final barrier between him and the surface world, he was pulled upward, and before he lost consciousness.
Lucifer heard screams and gasps, and the last thing his vision saw was blurry, bushy brown hair kneeling over top of him.
