The Countess was hard to miss in a room full of people because she was tall and curvy in all the right places.
Her na was Rowena and she had long blonde hair braided loosely over one shoulder, with a few soft curls framing the sides of her face.
She had blue eyes and she was wearing a deep burgundy fitted outfit that hugged her figure closely, with a black fur-trimd collar sitting around her neck and matching fur cuffs at her wrists.
She also wore a long black skirt that flowed from her waist down to the floor, making her look exquisite and extrely stunning.
Her pointy ears twitched slightly as the noise of the ballroom pressed in around her.
Yes, that’s right.
The beautiful and stunning Rowena was without a doubt an elf.
Her eyes glanced around the room once again and her ears twitched yet again at the sounds of a few gathered nobles laughing at a joke about a young man who had recently lost his family’s wealth and property altogether.
Listening a bit to what their conversation was all about, Rowena saw no aningful reasoning as to why humans took pleasure in looking down on their own kind.
Maybe it was because she was an elf, so her way of thinking was different from that of the humans around her.
She thought about it but didn’t linger on such thoughts for too long.
After all, she had been a noble for centuries, so she had seen these acts of wickedness in humans for so many years, but with each generation after generation, humans as a whole didn’t seem like they would be changing their ways anyti soon.
*Sighs*
With a soft and delicate sigh, Rowena had had enough of tonight’s ball.
Unlike the rest of them, she had other important matters to attend to back in her territory.
She had initially attended this party in search of potential buyers for so of the assets she had across the kingdom, but on second thought, her mood had beco sour and she just wasn’t feeling eager to sell anymore.
And so, with that said, Rowena excused herself from the ballroom.
But as she walked out, Rowena passed a group of young female nobles, around Shawn’s age, who had already surrounded said person with a look of worry and concern as they stared at his swollen eye.
"Oh my, what’s wrong with your eye, Lord Shawn? It looks so swollen."
"Yeah, I fought against a massive bear earlier today and things got rough between us." Shawn uttered his reply in a slightly flirtatious tone.
Since the ladies weren’t there when Austin had whooped his ass earlier today, Shawn thought to use his injury as a tactic to openly flirt with these ladies, and all the girls couldn’t help but have their cheeks flushed as they moved closer to him.
"Oh my, I never knew bears could be so rough."
"And naughty too."
"Trust , ladies, you haven’t heard the rest of the story yet."
"Oh please, do tell."
"With pleasure." Shawn’s grin widened even more as he began to blabber all sorts of lies and nonsense, when the truth was that he had simply been slapped by Austin’s large and majestic mana arms.
Hours passed by and now the sun had peeked its head out of the horizon to brighten up the sky.
anwhile, inside the room Austin and Nora had lodged in last night, both of them could be seen lying on the bed with Nora cuddling up to him like a cute little puppy.
Austin was already awake, so right now he was gently patting her head with a huge grin on his face.
It was still surprising to see how much this girl loved him, because last night, right after she had beaten up the thieves to her satisfaction, Nora instantly returned to bed to cuddle up to him.
All she said was that the threat had been taken care of, and the next thing Austin knew was her cuddling and snuggling up to him.
Of course, it felt nice and hugely satisfying because Nora clearly didn’t mind that her huge D-cup breasts were pressing up against him, and Austin simply enjoyed their bonding mont together throughout the night.
This was because, unlike in his previous world, Austin had never really dated a girl before, so Nora would be the first girl he really liked and really wanted to be with.
And that’s why he was determined to make her happy, because he clearly felt the sa way about her as she did about him.
’Yeah, my mind is made up now.’ Austin uttered in his mind as he tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear.
’I’m definitely going to have Nora as my wife.’ He stated as a matter of fact, and his resolve beca even stronger.
Of course, Austin knew that this wouldn’t be easy because of how difficult it was to make a living in this world.
In this world, having power in terms of strength and wealth speaks volus if a person wishes for himself or his family to survive, and Austin acknowledged this fact imdiately.
But was he really bothered about this?
Nope, he wasn’t.
After all, he had a beautiful woman by his side and he had an amazing system that would simply make him stronger just by being intimate with her, so why would he be worried about power in terms of strength.
Instead, what was really of concern to Austin was nothing more than wealth, to be exact.
He knew that in order to live a peaceful and relaxing life with his future wives and children, he would need to be rich, and this was why, unlike the novels Austin had read in his previous world where reincarnators would be focused on growing stronger so as to be acknowledged as the strongest being of said world, Austin was determined to take a different path.
