’Hmm, if I sohow find a way to improve the lives of these elves, it might make her open up to .’
’And if the farrs don’t have to worry about the poor condition of the soil, it could help lift a huge burden off her shoulders.’
’She would definitely feel relieved and happy.’
’And she might not mind being more herself around .’
’After all, she has decided to beco my friend, so it’s only expected of to want to know more about my new friend, right?’
’Who knows, maybe now I would truly have the chance to know more about her and to maybe even....’ Austin swiftly paused his train of thought.
’Nah, that won’t be possible.’
’As much as I would have loved to kiss her or bury my face in her massive chest.’
’I’m sure that shouldn’t be my primary objective right now.’
’Besides, I already have Nora, and in a matter of days I’ll beco a father.’
’Wow, ? A father?’
’I still can’t believe I’m really going to be a dad.’
’Just imagining my little pup calling dad or papa makes feel really excited.’
’Actually, I’ve been excited about this for the past few months, but being so close to finally becoming a dad makes feel really proud of how my journey in this world has been so far.’
’Of course, I can’t rule out the desire of having a cute little elf calling daddy as well.’
’Not in the perverted sense, of course.’ Austin grinned as he imagined a scenario where he had cute little children playing in the distance, with Nora resting on one of his arms while Rowena rested against the other.
He could already see Rowena in his imagination, leaning closer to give him a kiss, but just before her lips could touch his, Austin was suddenly interrupted by a voice calling out to him.
"Hey, are you sure you don’t need anything?" Legolas asked, and his question instantly pulled Austin out of his reverie.
"Huh?"
"I asked if you don’t want to eat anything before we head back to the road."
"No, I’m fine." Austin replied as he placed his palm over his face.
Now Austin and Legolas had hopped down from their horses because Aldren was currently busy having a few words with the ones in charge of handling the affairs of the village.
He had offered the village elder so food and everyone had gathered around to take their share, thanking Aldren and Rowena as well, even though the beautiful Countess wasn’t here right now.
So, seeing that Aldren still had a few matters to attend to regarding the guards stationed in the village, Austin and Legolas had decided to take a rest in a tavern.
"Are you sure you really don’t want anything?" Legolas asked one last ti.
"Yes, I’m sure."
"Suit yourself then." Legolas muttered as he grabbed his tankard containing just water.
He gulped it down and Austin couldn’t help but notice sothing on Legolas’s wrist.
Looking closely, it looked like a thick black mark in the form of a ring that circled perfectly around his wrist.
In fact, it instantly reminded Austin of a movie he had watched back in his previous world.
It was about a male teenage werewolf who had a similar tattoo on his bicep.
But instead of it being on Legolas’s bicep, it was on his wrist.
And since Austin was clearly in a dieval world, he doubted Legolas had visited a tattoo shop to get that mark.
"What is that?" Austin asked, and Legolas paused with a shocked expression on his face.
Of course, Austin noticed this expression as well, and he wondered why Legolas was so surprised by his question.
"You can see this?" Legolas asked as he dropped the tankard on the table while wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
"If I couldn’t see it, would I have asked you what it was?"
"..." Legolas remained silent as he stared at Austin.
Thinking about it, Legolas had once heard Nora ntion that Austin was a conjurer, and since conjurers tended to have really high amounts of mana needed to sustain their abilities, it would make sense for Austin to be able to see the mark on his wrist.
But just how high was his mana capacity?
Legolas wondered, so he asked in return.
"Tell the truth. Do you see anything strange in this tavern?"
"Strange? Strange how?"
"Strange as in sothing that isn’t supposed to belong here."
"Yeah, us."
"I’m serious, Austin."
"I don’t see anything strange, Legolas. Or is there sothing about this tavern that’s worrying you?"
"..." Legolas remained silent for a while before reclining properly in his chair. "No, there isn’t."
He replied and grabbed his tankard once again.
From Austin’s reaction, it seed like he hadn’t seen anything strange in the room.
So that ant maybe his mana wasn’t as plentiful as he had thought.
’Or maybe Austin simply didn’t have the affinity to see such beings.’ Legolas uttered in his thoughts as he pondered on just how large Austin’s mana capacity really was.
Oh, and let it be known that for a conjurer of Austin’s level, his mana capacity was a lot higher than any other conjurer in the sa category.
"So, are you going to tell what the mark on your wrist is, or are you going to pretend I didn’t just ask you a question?"
Hearing Austin’s words, Legolas gently placed down the tankard before leaning forward on the table.
"So, you know how you humans have specific classes you awaken, like knights and paladins..."
"Yeah."
"Well, we elves awaken classes called Beast Soul Warriors. Elves with these classes are able to absorb the abilities inside a beast soul crystal, which would then be used in combat."
Legolas continued. "It’s been our way of fighting for generations, but ever since a strange creature died in Blacksand Forest three hundred years ago, no one has been able to properly make use of their beast soul abilities anymore."
"What do you an?"
"Don’t you think it’s strange that I’ve been a level three enhancer for centuries?"
