Before Kailen could finish talking Arrie interrupted him " There’s no need to apologize Kai. Just.. it’s hard not hearing from you so please even if it’s once in a while let’s et in the virtual universe network and spend so ti together"

Kailen nodded " Mm. Anything for you"

"I failed you. I told you the next ti we’d et ,I would at least be at the ascendant level.Im still too weak"

Kailen stroke Arrie’s hair then kissed her on the forehead.

" No you haven’t. And I’m not saying this just to comfort you. You have been working extrely hard. The mont Kailen replied, he dissapeared from beneath the sheets,leaving Arrie to her solitude.

She sighed emotionally , her thoughts still lingering towards the wonderful night they had just enjoyed together. Arrie’s heart thumped wildy as she touched her lips, her cheeks turning red.

" I miss him already"

She stared at the holographic screen of the ga console ,sowhere in the large room,still on.

" And to think he’d be so bad at playing gas" Arrie chuckled "Heh, it’s really a breath of fresh air to have soone as remarkable as him lose at sothing"

Her gaze turned somber as she pursed her lips

" There will co a ti where we can be together without having to worry about the threats of the universe. No training ,no wars,no responsibilities-just the parenting ones and spending ti with each other. I need to beco as strong as possible to stand by his side in order to make that possible . A brown haired youngster appeared in an alleyway of one of the slum regions of the capital of the Astral Empire.

This was Kailen. He had used his umbra replacent skill to swap locations with one of his shadow creatures.

Quickly, a glass bottle of brown liquid appeared in his hands.

He drunk the liquid and threw the glass bottle away.

A wave of purple washed over him ,only to reveal the appearance of an entirely different person now standing at where he previously stood.

Kailen now had green colored hair and amber colored irises with a tall and handso build.

" Not bad. Let’s find a place to rest for the night "

Kailen turned into a streak of light and dissapeared into the night.

As he moved ,he could perceive the horrendous thing happening in the slums. People were robbing others , so were being molested in corners and always, others were killing others over loafs of bread.

" No matter where you go, the law of the jungle huh. Even in an empire so properous on the surface, so are living their lives as though they are in hell, whiles the powerful are enjoying the resources at the top"

The law of the jungle really reigned supre in he universe.

The things he saw in the slums reinforced his belief to beco extrely strong with each passing second.

" It may be the people in the slums suffering now. But to let’s say , a mid tier civilisation , those of us in the low tier civilisations are like those in the slums, enjoying diocre privileges. The higher you rise, the higher your resources and advantages. If you remain at the bottom of the food chain ,you only beco a prey destined to be consud "

Kailen shook his head helplessly. The law of the jungle huh. A dog eat dog principle. Kailen turned to look in that direction-extrely pissed at whatever had directed this evil intent towards him.

What he saw left him utterly dumbstruck.

A feminine figure in a long black cloak covering her head could be seen with her hands on the neck of another fellow, a male figure.

The male figure started turning emaciated and old looking as their screams started to die down.

Very soon, the male figure had turned into sothing akin to a dry, husky version of a corpse in the hands of the cloaked female .

The female loosened her grip ,causing the corpse to slid limply across the wall to the ground.

" Ahhhhh... This feeling never gets old"

The cold feminine voice of the person in the cloak resounded in Kailen’s ears with fanatic euphoria.

The person licked their lips ,then turned to look at Kailen.
