The mont Tui and La stepped on the platform, they didn’t mask their killing intent towards Kailen. The duo had personally requested from the facilitator of the competition that they face him together.
Kailen sent a thought transmission to Julian that he wanted to handle them alone. Julian simply shrugged in agreent. He would make more gold coins from betting on this match anyway. And he had a good eye for people. It was not like Kailen was going to lose.
Rather, he felt like—based on his history with these two—he may end them in a very grueso manner.
The facilitator nodded, asked Kailen if he was sure about his decision one more ti. Kailen nodded in agreent. That was when Tui and La appeared on the platform.
They had confident expressions on their faces. Their killing intent was completely palpable. They would kill this fellow today. He killed their best friend, leaving her injured boyfriend wallowing in sorrow all the ti. Had it not been for them, the fellow would have probably ended his own life.
As these thoughts flashed through their minds, a glint of coldness flashed through Kailen’s eyes. This ti, he didn’t let them take the initiative.
He took the initiative.
Kailen stretched his hand forward. The void around Tui and La twisted and rippled. Tui and La felt the space around them fold... and compress.
They could not move. No matter how much they tried to, it didn’t work.
They activated the principle of darkness. A large lance ford from darkness crushed into the space compressing on them, but nothing changed. The lance twisted, folded, and disappeared. An extrely large ball made of darkness crushed into the space pressing on them. But the ball of darkness t the sa fate as the large lance.
An expression of desperation and terror appeared in their eyes.
How?
They were more powerful than Kailen Darkhaven’s previous opponent. Not to ntion that they had attacked him with their strongest attacks. Many, including Tui and La, realized that Kailen Darkhaven had not gone all out in his battle with Max Uthort.
Had he done that, Max Uthort would have probably not been able to even launch a single attack.
Despair...
At this point, Tui and La looked at Kailen. His gaze was calm. Casual. There was a slight smirk at the edge of his lips.
Many were thinking... Would he spare them and avoid the anger of the Insidious Assassin Syndicate? Or would he kill them, earn the ire of the Insidious Assassin Syndicate, and have a very dangerous future?
As everyone watched, Kailen’s eyes flashed once more with a very void-like glint. He turned around. For a mont, it seed he was walking off the stage.
Then, the audience saw sothing chilling.
Tui and La... their forms started twisting and bending unnaturally. They felt the space around them reshaping the outline of their body structure.
One mont, their bones would twist inward. In another mont, space would compress on their organs so forcefully that they would implode. Blood started streaming from their faces and other parts of their bodies. Their forms were bent and twisted at eerie angles.
But it didn’t stop.
The terror on their faces increased. They could not even say they conceded.
The stadium was silent. The audience observed with terror. The bone-crushing sounds continued as the screams of Tui and La echoed, their forms being reshaped by Kailen Darkhaven’s unnatural and unconventional chilling use of the principle of space.
Very soon, they were turning into so sort of... atball.
What the hell? Their dying screams echoed across. They regretted it. They regretted offending this madman. At this point, they didn’t even care about their dead friend. The pain, the humiliation, and the suffering they had just endured... and worst of all... were they dying?
They were geniuses from the edge region of the universe who had seen their fair share of cruelty and ruthlessness before they beca transcendents. But this fellow... was on another level.
These were the last thoughts they had before their forms turned into atballs floating on the fighting platform, dripping with blood.
At this mont, Kailen Darkhaven had already walked to the edge of the fighting platform, his long coats billowing, and his hands in his pocket.
The audience inhaled.
This Kailen Darkhaven was very audacious and ruthless!
Did he not care about the ire of the Insidious Assassin Syndicate? However, no one blad him for what was happening. They understood things from his perspective. Was he supposed to spare those who tried to take his life? Won’t that make others think they could attempt to do the sa and just get away with it?
Therefore, he had killed them.
Julian stared at Kailen Darkhaven and smiled. He was liking this fellow more and more. His thods of handling things were quite... unconventional. Also, thanks to Kailen, he had won a bet. He had more than enough gold coins at the mont. Even though he would not use the money for anything, it was just a luxury to have more money. Who would reject more money?
The person who had lost the bet against him was naturally Myra, the gno Julian had defeated. She did not underestimate Kailen Darkhaven. But when she considered the fact that he was fighting two opponents stronger than Max Uthort at the sa ti, she was naturally pragmatic, thinking that Kailen was being a bit overconfident.
But to think... this would be the outco.
She realized this fellow was more powerful than he let on. How monstrous was his principle comprehension speed, even among those with high principle comprehension speed, for him to break through to the Rank 3 novice-stage transcendent level recently and still overpower everyone so effortlessly?
Several in the stadium, from the higher-ups in the city to other transcendents, had similar thoughts. It seems this fellow was a bottomless pit. He was simply too mysterious. One would never know what to expect when dealing with soone like him.
Also, his ruthlessness when crossed bordered on the unnatural. He used the principle of space to turn his enemies into atballs as he walked off the platform casually, not even looking at them. That was extrely terrifying.
And that smirk on his face? Did he enjoy torturing his enemies?
What a madman...
In the place where the higher-ups were seated, the place was completely silent. Many understood the implications of Kailen’s actions. The Insidious Assassin Syndicate would definitely not let this matter rest. Two of their geniuses had just died.
Dawnseer and Dexter knew the Insidious Assassin Syndicate had just accelerated their plan to kill Kailen. They would use the deaths of Tui and La as a justifiable cause to get rid of him. Others may be thinking they would act against Kailen because of Tui and La, but they—alongside Kailen—knew that the organization would attack Kailen not because of Tui and La’s death, but because of the death of the niece of the IAS branch head in the city. Tui and La had just been pawns without even knowing they were pawns.
Several in the stadium, including the higher-ups, ca to one conclusion.
Kailen Darkhaven was very audacious and decisive.
But he had to be prepared to live with the consequences of his actions. They could not wait to see the outco of the events that would unfold later. Would Darkhaven perish, or would he use the Insidious Assassin Syndicate as stepping stones to make his na feared across the southern continent?
As for Dawnseer and Dexter, they were really hoping Kailen could survive whatever followed next. Inasmuch as they could do nothing to help him in this situation, they were rooting for him. After all, his rise would bring them benefits.
At this sa ti, a glint flashed through Julian’s eyes. Kailen Darkhaven was worth befriending. He had a feeling that becoming acquaintances with this fellow was not enough; he had to beco friends with him. Perhaps this fellow would be embroiled in a storm in the chaotic region of the universe in the future.
Julian wanted to be part of that storm. Because life was simply too boring. As for this Insidious Assassin Syndicate... fuck them. Since he made his decision, he would naturally stand with Kailen against them.
At this mont, the facilitator revealed a glint of amusent in his eyes.
"To think soone like this will be in this city. How amusing. If he does not die, he will definitely shake the nation in the future," the facilitator thought.
However, it was just a thought. He was not planning on intervening in any personal matters. He was just here to facilitate a competition. His ti was up. He had done his job. He had to leave.
Before that, he announced the results.
"The Dawnseer Guild will be advancing to the intercity competitions of the Southern Continent."
