Dan Rulong’s body was enveloped by a pillar of corruption energies, black lights dancing around his body. In his hand, a longsword appeared with black snake-like energy threads coiled around it.
Yasenia looked at him and asked, curious. “What happens to the skills we learn when we transform into that?”
Tatyana crossed her long leg over the other, sitting midair elegantly. “Once the Heart Demon completely consus you, there is no finesse to speak of. I have never seen soone who has been devoured by Heart Demons use skills. That doesn’t an that they are weak. They beco unstoppable monsters…” Tatyana lingered and glanced at Yasenia. “They are similar to those War Soldiers you can summon with your flag.”
Yasenia’s eyes flashed with recognition. “I see. I wonder how strong a Heart Demon is against soul arts?”
Her charming, golden slit eyes moved toward Luan Feixue’s cold expression, and she smiled. “Good luck, Little Feixue.”
As soon as she said that, Dan Rulong scread and pushed against the ground, lunging forward and violently slashing at Feixue with his sword.
“DIEE!!!”
Luan Feixue, already prepared, activated the constellation she had created while talking with him. “[Heavenly Constellation Steps, Third Sky: Orion’s Shield].”
A very faint image of a shield manifested in between them, the connecting stars creating a white surface.
BOOM!
Dan Rulong, carrying strength similar to a recently advanced Dantian Spiritualization Realm cultivator, slamd into the shield, carrying mountain-flattening strength.
Orion’s Shield was too sturdy, though. So, besides a few cracks, nothing else happened to it.
“[Light Star Battle Dress].”
Feixue’s voice enveloped the surroundings, and her clothes changed. With a design similar to Yasenia’s Empyrean gown, the bodice Feixue wore combined white and yellow. The gorgeous dress fluttered even without wind, tightly clinging to her slender yet attractive figure.
Dan Rulong didn’t stop for an instant, his sword slamming against Orion’s Shield as if he wielded a garrote instead of a sword.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Seeing Orion’s Shield about to break, Feixue lightly slashed forward. “[Star Cleaving Soul Strike].”
Star Energies enveloped Feixue, condensing into an illusory sword shadow. Dan Rulong broke Orion’s Shield at the sa ti that the attack arrived.
SLASH!
“GRAAAHH!”
A distorted scream escaped him, but it didn’t stop his assault. With another leap forward, Dan Rulong rushed at Luan Feixue, intending to slaughter her.
Feixue was not afraid. She jumped back, dodging with elegance and agility, her foot leaving behind star shadows.
After moving around for a few monts, her lips parted again. “[Heavenly Constellation Steps, Second Sky: Ursa’s Grasp].”
A ten-ter-tall shadow of a bear ford from star energies manifested behind Feixue, rging into her and increasing her bodily strength trendously.
With its enhancent, Feixue stopped dodging and changed her footwork. Her giant sword slashed forward, intending to et with Dan Rulong’s.
BANG!
The air around them exploded in a collision, and Feixue was pushed back several steps. Her face didn’t look shocked or angry. Yasenia had taught her many tis that in a fight, it didn’t matter what emotions she revealed outwardly. What mattered the most was keeping a cold and calculating mind.
She could laugh if that helped her focus; she could scream, mock, or scoff. Regardless of her actions, her mind should stay sharp, no matter what happens.
Feixue’s eyes read the beastly movents of the Heart Demon, and she used her giant sword to clash with it.
Both of them moved around the battlefield, their clashes echoing at an incredible pace. While she fought, Feixue activated [Starry Sky], one of Yasenia’s early skills.
This skill gathered stars around her that she could later use with her attacks. [Shooting Star] and [Starfall] were attacks derived from this very skill.
‘Dan Rulong’s movents are quick, and even when they look wild and deranged, they are not completely random. His body moves like a wild beast with ridiculous instincts.’
“[Starlight Shield].”
A white-blue shield manifested between them, and Dan Rulong brutally slamd into it.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
“LUAN FEIXUEEE!”
Berserk-like attacks slamd onto it, but Feixue ignored his shouts. Instead, she focused and moved her Fate and Star energies within her. “[Star Precognition].”
A link of starlight linked Dan Rulong and Luan Feixue, disappearing a mont later. An instant later, Dan Rulong smashed through [Starlight Shield] and slashed horizontally at Feixue’s neck with a twisted expression.
Feixue stepped back calmly, the sword’s tip grazing her neck. The complete whiff of the attack was a fatal mistake, though.
After her light step back, Feixue’s leg muscles burst with strength, pushing her forward. Her waist twisted, both hands grabbing her greatsword's handle tightly. “[Star Cleaving Soul Strike].”
Dan Rulong’s pupils shrank, his body twisting violently in an attempt to dodge the sword slashing toward his stomach.
Sadly, it was too late.
BANG!
The sound was not one of cutting flesh, but a dull sound of hitting armor. Dan Rulong bent like a bow around the broadsword’s body, his body flying off like a loose cot the next second.
Feixue frowned faintly. ‘His body is too tough… What about his soul?’
“AAAAAAHHHH!!!”
A piercing scream full of agony escaped Dan Rulong, answering Feixue’s question. Her indifferent face broke into a faint smile. ‘It seems that his soul is not as sturdy.’
“[Fate-Linked Star Domain].”
Starry Sky rged with the new domain, and soon, an ethereal and mystical aura enveloped the battlefield. Stars manifested around them, a mystical sense of destiny enveloping the area.
Dan Rulong stopped writhing on the ground and used his four limbs to launch himself forward like a beast. However, the second he lunged forward, a star fell from above and struck him mid-lunge.
BOOM!
His body struck the ground violently, and Feixue slashed toward him. “[Star Cleaving Soul Strike].”
A white aura slashed forward, and Dan Rulong was barely able to block part of it.
Unconcerned about his body’s state, Dan Rulong clashed with the stars and Feixue’s ranged attacks again and again. He was like a mindless bull that charged forward and was thrown back.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
The sounds of battle occupied everything, with Feixue governing the battlefield with easy and delicate control.
Lady First and Ao Xianlan, who had not paid Feixue attention in the past, couldn’t help but feel a little intrigued. Ao Xianlan smiled faintly. “Not bad at all. Regardless of talent, her hard work is easily revealed in her battle style.”
Lady First nodded faintly. “She is fighting well for soone that young. If she keeps this determination for a long ti, her diocrity might not matter much. After all, with a proper opportunity, anyone can flip their destiny.”
Yasenia felt her chest swelling with pride when she heard them. She knew that these two seniors spoke the truth. After all, why would they exaggerate it? They didn’t need to praise Feixue to gain her favor, so their words were just and sincere.
“My disciple is, of course, excellent!” Yasenia puffed her ample chest, her tail wagging proudly.
The three seniors chuckled at her cute antics.
anwhile, on the battlefield, Dan Rulong was being beaten black and blue by Feixue. He tried shortening the distance ti and ti again, only for Feixue to easily throw him flying with extra injuries.
Even with the overboosted regeneration the Heart Demon gave him, Dan Rulong’s body was marred with terrifying wounds.
“I’LL KILL YOU! KILL! KILL! KILL! GRAAAHH!!”
Feixue just glanced at him coldly. Her broadsword flashed with starlight as she slashed at him from a distance.
Each strike made him tumble to the ground, but because he had completely lost his mind, Dan Rulong was like a wild beast that lost all sense of self-preservation. The only instinct inside him left was the one to slaughter.
‘Even then…’ As Feixue perfectly controlled the battlefield, her eyes flashed with many thoughts. ‘I don’t want him to escape, so should I feed his Heart Demon a bit more? I am not that confident in stopping him from escaping if he decides to do so.’
She had no imprisoning skills, and as shown during their battle, Dan Rulong was sturdy enough to ignore her attacks while fleeing. ‘I don’t really want to test my speed toward a beast like him, so…’
“Dan Rulong… I am the one who devoured Ainesay’s soul. Only by killing will you ever have a chance at reviving her.”
It was a crude lie. One without much effort or thought put into it.
Still, she didn’t need more to deceive the person who had lost his mind.
“LUAN FEIXUE! I WANT TO DEVOUR YOUR SOUL!”
Seeing the man beco even more reckless, desperately trying to close the distance, Luan Feixue nodded internally. ‘Good. Now it is a matter of ti.’
There was no flashy technique, nor any finisher-like move. Feixue’s fighting style, while overwhelming, relied on complete control of the battlefield.
Fifteen minutes later, Dan Rulong’s attacking speed had decreased sharply. His body was tired, his soul damaged beyond repair. Even then, he continued to scream and charge at Feixue with desperation.
“Alright, ti to end this. [Star Soul Weapon Enhancent]... [Star Precognition].”
Unlike Yasenia, who could almost endlessly stack buffs onto herself, Feixue needed to be careful. She was already enhanced by Ursa’s Grasp and Light Star Battle Dress. So, any more buffs would beco a strain on her body. Hence, until the mont of the showdown, she held back her last technique.
Her eyes flashed, and finally, she stepped forward. “Ti for you to die. [Heavenly Constellation Steps, First Sky: Pegasus Gallop].”
Translucent white wings manifested behind her, and after a signal flap, she accelerated to her top speed and shortened the distance between them.
The broadsword glead with soul and star energies, her eyes cold as she rushed to clash with Dan Rulong.
At this mont, as if he had been waiting, Dan Rulong exploded with violent corruption energies, his strength surging to a terrifying level. “DIEEE!!”
Feixue’s sword and Dan Rulong’s clashed, a terrifying shockwave spreading out.
Yasenia and the three seniors noticed that both their swords flew out of their grips in the collision. Lady First tilted her head. “Did she miscalculate?”
Yasenia grinned. “No. She didn’t.”
Without weapons, Dan Rulong clawed at Feixue’s face. The woman, seeing the terrifying, corrupted claw move toward her face, stayed silent and placid. Her eyes were without ripples.
With a perfectly tid twist of her form, she tilted to the right just enough for the claw to miss her. Then, she stepped forward, her hand blooming with monstrous soul and star energy.
“[Blooming Star Soul Palm].”
Dan Rulong glanced down and saw Feixue’s hand shoot like a beam of light toward his chest.
It was unavoidable.
BOOM!
The dainty hand landed right in the middle of Dan Rulong’s chest, a shockwave pushing out all the dust around them. The soul energy laced with the star attribute exploded like a bomb in a collapsing building.
The man stiffened, his black eyes returning to normal for a second. Looking at Luan Feixue’s face, he was confused. “Luan… Princess?”
Feixue looked up coldly. “My revenge is now taken. Go to the afterlife, Dan Rulong. With your death, the Dan Family’s bloodline is finally cut forever.”
Dan Rulong’s eyes showed surprise, but then, they lost their light as he slumped toward the ground.
Thud.
Luan Feixue looked down, and then, she exhaled and smiled. ‘Finally… It’s over.’
