Walking into the restaurant, they were surrounded by tables all around with people who looked to be enjoying their als
Hopefully, they would co to share that joy as well
The very air in the place slled of at and Spices, yes, it was definitely the spices that montarily confused them.
They had so many slaves that they had almost forgotten the ti when they had been free
When Azreal had been living with his mother and brother on the giant’s continent, living relatively well, his mother worked as an adventurer to earn money and regain her strength.
Before those bastards took her away and sold him and his brother.
When Olivia was still trapped in that room, the person who could technically be called her father placed her.
She had food and shelter, but even those were tainted by his disgusting presence and influence.
And even after all of that, that still wasn’t even ntioning their ti in the dungeon, where the only thing they slled was the snow, blood, and burning charcoal at to keep themselves warm.
But this sll was like a silent victory for their souls; they could sll this wonderful food and not have to see the people who forced them to call them master eat it
Finding a table at the far right of the establishnt, they sat down, and no longer than three minutes later, soone ca to see what they wanted.
"Hello sir, madam, what can I get for you today? As you can see, the nu is on the table".
They didn’t even pick up the nu; instead, Azreal told the man
"Just bring us two of your best dishes each"
"Yes, no problem, sir, I’ll be right back." Asking no further questions, the server left their table.
Now alone, Azreal turned to Olivia, looking deep within her beautiful pink eyes before asking her what had been on his mind since they left the Emberfangs at the town’s gate.
"So what do you think of their offer? Should we take it?"
And she responded, looking deep within his amber eyes that seed to hold rings of crimson blood within
"I think we should take it, we have nothing to lose but ti, it could help us find your brother with the constant traveling and we might as well do sothing while we’re here"
He nodded she was making good points they really had nothing to lose, but ti and they had plenty of ti,
"Plus maybe it will give us away to sell the rest of these without drawing too much attention to us" he added while looking within his ring
"By the way just how much did Amon get, it couldn’t have been that much right?
The only response he gave was "see for yourself" as he placed his hand with the ring in front of her
Touching the ring her consciousness was pulled inside of it.
She felt like her head was being pulled on by so invisible force, yanking on her head with all of its strength in very short bursts before ultimately just pulling with all its might
Inside there was a full white landscape, where you couldn’t tell the floor any differently from the sky
Or up from down
The only thing that gave away that there was any semblance of direction in this place was the items placed beside the mountain of blue rocks
Yes the clothes were here as well
"I wonder if the woman in the shop says he put them in here wait....., don’t tell , there’s no way"
Looking up she saw a mountain made entirely out of the blue glowing rocks.
Each was a different shape and size, all of them glowed differently, so had way less than others and others glowed so bright that it was almost blinding
Seeing this absolute behemoth of a mountain made entirely of mana stones
Olivia had only one thought going through her head at that mont
"We’re fucking RICH"
"How the hell did he manage to get this much in that little ti he was gone, maybe that demon was more useful than she gave him credit for"
Well she already knew that but this only helped to prove it even more
And the worst part no it was more correct to say the best part was that even though the mountain was big she was sure that it was even bigger as the directions confused her.
So there was a more than likely chance that they had way more than she was seeing
But the only problem was where the hell could they even sell a quarter of this out drawing attention.
People didn’t just have this many mana stones, they would one hundred percent have to jump through hoops to sell even a little of it
But even so, it would be worth it, no way more than worth it
Retracting her consciousness from within the ring the feeling she got was different.
Almost the opposite in a way as instead of so force pulling at her head she instead felt like sothing had hit her across the room with all its strength while holding on to her legs.
When her senses fully ca back to her a second later she imdiately asked
"How the hell was he able to get that much so fast?"
Azreal didn’t answer, just putting his elbow onto the table so he could more comfortably look her in her eyes while resting his face in his open palm
Instead who answered was the very one the question was about
She heard his voice as if it was right beside her ear but turning there was no one there, he was still within Azrael’s shadow
"I would advise you not to underestimate My lady, as I am both older than you can imagine and stronger than you know"
Hearing this she chose not to answer him with anything but "old man"
To which he didn’t respond
Moving on she said to Azreal
"You and I both know we can’t sell even a quarter of that without drawing attention so what are we going to do"
"Another reason to accept the emberfangs’ invitation, we’ll need money, well not like we don’t have enough already but can’t hurt to be careful right hahaha"
"I guess you’re right"
As soon as their conversation was finished and done with the server ca back to their table with four sandwiches
"Here you go sir and madam, our finest dishes, the black fried cockatrice burger which was prepared in the finest ketal apple oil, and the dark ground bull burger, with two cups of light lon juice, please enjoy"
"That will be one hundred and twenty-nine copper please"
Paying the man they watched as he walked away leaving them with their food
The black fried cockatrice burger was big, having a thick piece of golden orange at inside two steaming buns with mysterious purple sauce on.
Just pressing down onto it caused a crunch so loud and satisfying that their hands felt the vibrations.
It had a sll so strong and delicious it wasn’t like anything they had slt before but one thing was for sure it was mouth-watering.
Bringing them up to their mouths they had to take a big gulp first with the amount of saliva that found its way into their mouths
And then both of them at the sa ti, as if their minds and bodies were completely in sync, as if they were the sa the took a bite
And my what a bite it was, what a bite it was
The flavor exploded in their mouths
It was crispy, juicy, and spicy, oh so spicy but the purple sauce on top did its intended job to cool it down by introducing a new type of sweet flavor.
It was weird, like the sweet and spicy were made for each other since the very beginning.
But even with the mysterious, sweet purple sauce they still needed so sort of rest not just from the spice but from all the flavors as if their mouths were begging to be washed out so they could experience that flavor for the first ti again.
So they grabbed the cups that were filled to the brim with a light yellow juice with what looked to be red sprinkles floating within it.
Taking a sip this too was delicious, although not nearly as good as the burger but it was refreshingly good with a hint of sweet and savory flavors that worked in perfect harmony.
They drank about half of it before returning to their burgers finishing them in what felt like an hour to them but was actually three minutes
But even a full hour wouldn’t have been enough to properly savor that al, thank the Twofold that they had one more burger to try and this one looked just as promising as the last.
But before they could even pick it up from the table sothing slamd into their table
Looking up they saw them.
Soone had interrupted their al. Soone had a death wish.
