The stear was on high heat, and before long, the sweet aroma of cooked pumpkin began to drift out with the white steam.
Jiang Qiuqiu lifted the lid. As expected, the pumpkin in the bowl had already softened.
She placed the bowl on the counter and picked up the masher she had prepared earlier. "Steaming makes the pumpkin very soft, so we can just use any tool to mash it into a puree."
Once most of the large lumps were gone, it was ready.
She held it up to show her audience the pureed pumpkin. "When it looks about like this, we’ll add the glutinous rice flour we bought from Taotao Fresh."
"The ratio of glutinous rice flour to pumpkin puree is about 1.2 to 1. Then, we can start kneading the dough."
Making the pumpkin dough was incredibly simple and required no skill whatsoever. There was no special technique or trick to it; you just had to knead the glutinous rice flour and pumpkin puree together.
It was just that Jiang Qiuqiu was preparing a large batch, so mixing it all together took a bit of ti.
The livestream gradually grew quiet.
Whenever the stream reached this point, the fans watching actually found it a bit therapeutic.
The younger students had just gotten out of class and were leaving comnts as they watched: [Watching Juju’s stream while doing howork is so therapeutic! The mont I turn on my terminal, the aroma hits . The only thing I love is my howork!]
[There, there. To the person above , focus on your howork. Get lost in it for a few more pages, and don’t co back out later.]
[Pfft! I set a reminder. Don’t even think about trying to reduce the competition!]
The young students and the office workers just getting off their shifts started bickering.
The office worker’s girlfriend was also watching the stream. Seeing him arguing with the students, she pouted, speechless. "What are you doing? You’re being so childish. Why are you bullying students?"
"It’s fun." He chuckled. "Don’t you think having a friendly chat with everyone once in a while makes you feel like you’ve soaked up so of that youthful energy?"
He and his girlfriend lay on the sofa together, sharing the tranquil mont.
Watching the dough get rounded and flattened, he suddenly said, "I think I’m starting to like my job."
"Hmm?" his girlfriend asked. "Didn’t you say you hated it?"
"Thinking about it now, it’s the only job that lets get off before eight and rush ho to watch the stream with you."
His gaze locked on his girlfriend, whose expression softened. Just as they were about to lean in close, he added, "It’s a case of one plus one being greater than two. That way, there’s an extra person to help snatch one up, and if I don’t get one, I can just eat yours!"
His girlfriend: ...
"Get lost!"
She swatted him with a throw pillow. The office worker feigned a dodge, then pulled her into a hug as they tumbled onto the sofa. Just like that, half his exhaustion lted away.
At that very mont, others were also watching the stream: an elderly man watering his flowers at ho, a soldier stationed on the border, a factory worker just off the night shift.
For so reason, as long as it was Qiuqiu’s stream, people couldn’t bear to switch away, even during the quiet, silent monts.
And if you ever felt the screen was still for too long, you could always open the live comnts and read the hilarious ssages from other goofy fans, which was an entertaining pasti in itself.
[Oh, look at this dough, it’s so round and flat! And look at my stomach, it’s so big and... empty!]
[Just look at my face, ’I want to eat’ is written all over it.]
[Stop looking, I can’t be bothered with you two. Juju! Juju! How many pumpkin cakes did you make today? You should make more, one for each of us!]
You didn’t even have to read the whole comnt to know it was from one of the perpetually unlucky souls.
The perpetually unlucky were a large contingent here, and her comnt was quickly upvoted to the top.
