Jiang Qiuqiu noticed the change in his expression and grew curious. "You seem to really want to go into the Spirit Healing Departnt. Is piloting chas a bad thing?"
"No," Mo Si said, gazing out the window. "Piloting chas is also good. You’re very talented in that area as well."
"But—"
"Qiuqiu," Mo Si said, looking at Jiang Qiuqiu, his dark eyes filled with a wealth of emotion. "Look back. That’s Federation University and the Federal Military Academy. Nearly half the people there are cha Soldiers, but only one in ten thousand is in the Spirit Healing Departnt. chas are great, but the Federation needs Spirit Healing Masters more."
"Every year, countless soldiers retire from the front lines and never get to receive treatnt from a Spirit Healing Master. Every new Spirit Healing Master gives the Federation another glimr of hope."
The topic suddenly felt a bit heavy. Jiang Qiuqiu glanced back as well, but they were too far away. She couldn’t make out any people, only the sight of Federation University’s Sky City shrinking into a tiny black speck.
"Is that so?"
"It is." A thoughtful expression imdiately appeared on the young woman’s face. Mo Si’s features softened. "But you don’t need to feel any pressure."
"I’m asking you to consider it carefully because your aptitude for Spirit Healing is far greater than your aptitude for piloting chas."
"But the teacher at the test didn’t say that..." Jiang Qiuqiu had assud she was just average in both.
"There are so things machines can’t asure." Mo Si raised his hand, and an incredibly fine wisp of spiritual power brushed across Jiang Qiuqiu’s cheek like a breeze. "Take this amount of spiritual power, for instance. If I don’t want to reveal it, a machine can’t detect the slightest trace."
"You are the most talented aspiring Spirit Healing Master I’ve ever seen. If you choose the Spirit Healing Departnt, you could very well beco the most outstanding Spirit Healing Master in the Federation."
"The most?"
"Yes."
’The best?’
"I’ll think it over carefully." Although she said she’d think it over, Jiang Qiuqiu’s heart was already leaning toward a decision.
She liked being number one.
After they arrived at the courtyard house, Jiang Qiuqiu’s terminal chid. She raised her wrist to look, assuming it was a ssage from Sister Mingi. The second round of the PK had already started, and her special leave of absence was over. It was about ti to prepare for the competition.
But when she took a closer look, she was surprised to find it was a ssage from the female teacher she had t earlier today.
—Are you there!?
—I am. Is there sothing I can help you with, Ma’am?
—The test is over, you don’t have to call Ma’am anymore! Oof, I don’t deserve it, I really don’t!
—Are you Juju? Jiang Jiujiu, right?
Jiang Qiuqiu: ???
—I thought you looked so familiar the mont I saw you today! I’m one of your loyal food fans! Your team has been the one replying to ssages lately, so we were all wondering where you went. Turns out you were enrolling in the academy!
She suddenly felt the Federation was a very small place.
—Enrollnt is over now, too! Can I ask when you’re going to stream, Juju? We’re all waiting for your second-round PK!
Jiang Qiuqiu was nearly swept away by the fan’s enthusiasm. She paused for a mont, then typed her reply: I’ll probably start tomorrow.
—!!!! I’m so excited!
—I was honestly too scared to ask for your terminal number today, but we’d already t in person! I would have regretted it for ages if I hadn’t asked!
The conversation may have started out a bit stiff, but this... teacher was so lively in her ssages that as Jiang Qiuqiu chatted with her, she gradually began to feel more at ease.
She even extended an invitation. "Once I’m enrolled, let treat you to a al, Ma’am."
—!!!
—It would be the honor of a lifeti! I’ll be waiting for you!
—Okay, I won’t bother you anymore. See you tomorrow, Juju!
"See you tomorrow."
