Eight dishes were served for lunch today.
Spread across the round table, the dazzling array of dishes filled the air with a tantalizing aroma, and the desire to eat was written plainly on the faces of everyone seated around it.
No one had picked up their chopsticks yet, but Mr. Yuan was already holding his. "Well, now. I thought Qiuqiu was just joking when she said her food was delicious, but I never expected it to sll *this* good."
"Ahem, Grandpa Yuan, you haven’t even started eating yet."

While she was lost in thought, Yuan Jian Country had already wolfed down several pieces of at. He was by far the fastest eater. Seeing Jiang Qiuqiu eating so delicately, he chid in, "Don’t be shy, young lady. This stuff is delicious, eat up!"
"I’ve gotta ask," he said, picking up a piece of the braised pork. "What kind of at is this? How is it so delicious?"
"It’s Gugu Beast at."
"Gugu Beast!?"
The old familiar terror of military rations washed over him.
It was hard to believe. With a look of utter shock on his face, Yuan Jian Country ate several more pieces of the braised pork.
"Grandpa Yuan, you shouldn’t just eat the at. You could try sothing else, like these carrots—"
"No, no, no." The Federation recomnded that Spiritual Power Users consu a sufficient amount of vegetables each month—and the higher one’s spiritual power, the greater the required intake. Yuan Jian Country already had to eat a sizable amount of vegetables every month. He was sick of them, and now he was being told to eat more... His mind scread in protest.

The carrots in the beef brisket hadn’t been stewed for very long, so they weren’t completely soft and mushy. They had absorbed the flavor of the beef and were coated in a thick, rich gravy, yet they still had a hint of their characteristic texture when he bit into them.
The flavor was rich without being overpowering. It was a taste completely different from any vegetable he’d had before, and it made Yuan Jian Country’s eyes light up.
’This is delicious, too!’
And so, his chopsticks darted toward the beef brisket with carrots. They danced back and forth between the braised pork and the beef brisket.
A bite from one, then a bite from the other—he was giving both dishes perfectly equal attention.
Genetic Hybrids and Spiritual Power Users both had large appetites. Almost an hour later, the eight plates on the table were nearly empty. All three of them were cupping their bowls, sipping lamb soup.
The slightly spicy lamb soup was Jian Country’s absolute favorite. Slurping down two bowls wasn’t enough, so he went to the kitchen to get the large soup tureen himself.
But while he had gone alone, he returned with a little tail tagging along behind him.
A smiling, fresh-faced teenager with dyed, grayish-white hair and a light blue down jacket followed him inside.
He first gave Mrs. Ai’er a familiar greeting, then suddenly noticed there was soone else there. He started to speak, "Good afternoon, miss. Which family are you—"
Jiang Qiuqiu looked up, their eyes eting. Just as she was about to return the greeting, she saw the young man freeze on the spot.
He was stunned for three seconds, then his expression exploded with wild joy.
"Ju-Juju!?"
