Amidst great anticipation, the second round of the Federation Live Broadcast’s regional PK officially began.
As the competition shifted from internal qualifiers to inter-regional battles, the various branches of the Federation Live Broadcast Company pulled out all the stops, launching promotions in real estate developnts, shopping malls, and even collaborations with cha companies.
The promotional campaign for the regional PK was even more bombastic than the one for the internal qualifiers.
The goal wasn’t really to attract new users to the Federation’s live broadcast platform. After all, the PK happened every year, accompanied by a massive promotional blitz. Most potential users were already on board, and those who weren’t couldn’t be won over by a bit of external advertising.
Putting on such a massive spectacle each ti was rely a display of the company’s power and a way to cultivate a festive, annual event-like atmosphere.
Building hype before the event even started was a point of pride for a company at the pinnacle of its industry.
Of course, all this fanfare wasn’t without its benefits. It was also an opportunity to promote up-and-coming strears like Jiang Qiuqiu—talented, but not yet widely known.
With a full-scale promotion, the next step was the path to stardom.
At 6:50 PM, the winter sky was already dark. Jiang Qiuqiu had everything she needed prepared and switched on her cara robot.
When the clock struck 6:55, Jiang Qiuqiu opened her stream room according to the system prompt. Fans who had been lying in wait could now enter, but the PK had not yet started.
The Main Brain was still running the matchmaking process in the background. Jiang Qiuqiu’s broadcast room wouldn’t connect to her opponent’s until 7:00 PM sharp.
’Having gone through one PK already, Jiang Qiuqiu realized the biggest difference between this "friendly match" and the first elimination round was that the friendly matches didn’t use a split-screen. During her broadcast, she could see her opponent on a projection, and to the fans, it looked as if both strears were sharing the sa stage.’
’And in the friendly matches, the bullet comnts from both channels were shared.’
’The rules for PK votes were also different from the first round. In this round, the competitors were from different regions, showcasing different ’talents’ and ’abilities.’ The Main Brain would limit the broadcast to one hour, and only fans who had been online for the full hour could vote within the five-minute window after it ended.’
’Any votes from fans who watched for less than an hour or who didn’t cast their vote within that five-minute window would be invalidated.’
’So, while they called it a "friendly match," it was actually even more competitive than the first elimination round.’
As her thoughts churned, Jiang Qiuqiu smiled and greeted the fans in the bullet comnts. "Good evening, we et again. Today is the second friendly match."
"Today’s nu is deep-fried tempura~"
"That’s right, more fried food, but it’s different from the fried gugu cutlets I made before."
[How can you all still be thinking about food at a ti like this? Shouldn’t we be worried about the opponent Juju is going to be matched against?]
[Yeah, seriously! As one of her career fans, I’m dying of anxiety! And you guys are still just thinking about food!]
[Can’t you guys be a little more concerned? *sobs* I’m so worried about our precious Juju’s PK! I don’t know if my hidden gem will be able to make it through.]
A group of career fans wailed in the bullet comnts.
[Okay, fine, let ask then... Juju, do you know what kind of opponent you’ll be matched with?]
"I’m afraid that’s up to the Main Brain to decide."
[See? Juju doesn’t know either, so there’s no point in asking. Let’s just be zen about it and focus on the tempura!]
[So what is tempura, anyway? The na of a new type of at?]
"Nope."
"As for what it is, you’ll all find out once the stream starts~"
The mont she finished speaking, the clock struck seven. The PK opponent assigned to Jiang Qiuqiu by the Main Brain—appeared.
