The elderly woman was chatting with a few of her old friends. When she heard soone call out for Professor Liu, she lifted her head.
Oh, and when she looked up, she saw a bright-eyed young woman.
"You know , young lady?"
"I do! Hello, Professor Liu. I’m a reporter with the Haiyun Evening News. I interviewed you once before with my ntor." The young woman’s eyes sparkled.
Professor Liu let out a sound of understanding and smiled. "Oh, it’s you."
"What are you doing in line here? Are you also waiting to get this... Ancient Earth food?"
"That’s right. I ca by to try it yesterday and thought it was quite good, so I brought a few friends along to try it today."
’Even Professor Liu says it’s good!?’
While the young reporter was conducting her brief interview, Professor Liu’s group reached the front of the line. Seeming familiar with the process, Professor Liu pointed at the three people she had brought with her. "Here, three new followers!"
Two of them, a pair of older won, were here for the first ti. They didn’t just get one portion for following; by reposting and sending private ssages, they got two more, for a total of three portions each. Professor Liu then nudged her sowhat unkempt son, who was dressed in a long overcoat. "You should repost and send so ssages too, so we can get them all at once."
"...Let’s not." As he looked up, the young reporter gasped in surprise again. "Professor Liu Lianhua!"
"Sorry, I don’t do interviews." The man in the long overcoat frowned, refusing. Seeing this, the young reporter quickly moved her cara robot a little to the side. "Mom, what kind of post is this...?"
"I’m a scientific researcher. How can I repost sothing like this to my personal feed? What would my students think if they saw it? And private ssages are out of the question. My contacts are all either students or colleagues..." To put it bluntly, he was too embarrassed.
His voice wasn’t particularly loud or quiet, but the two people frying tofu heard him and glanced up.
One of them flinched upon seeing his face, looking as if they wanted to bury their head in a bucket.
"Fine, suit yourself."
And so, the group of four collected their tofu. The young reporter deeply admired Professor Liu, but this wasn’t the ti for a formal interview, so she couldn’t follow them. She simply stood in place and quietly watched her idol for a mont.
They appeared to be eating. Professor Liu was clearly enjoying herself, while her son, Professor Xiao Liu, finished his food bite by bite, his expression unchanging. The reporter vaguely heard him mutter, "It’s okay," before she saw him lead Professor Liu toward the senior citizens’ activity center.
She continued on her way.
After walking about twenty ters, her "x-ray vision" spotted Mr. Shao in the crowd.
"..."
She couldn’t resist going up to interview him.
Mr. Shao was with his family and didn’t wish to be interviewed for long, so the young reporter quickly moved on.
’What a lucky day! I managed to get footage of both Professor Liu and Mr. Shao.’
However, the young reporter soon discovered that her luck for the day wasn’t over yet.
As a reporter who had managed to land a job at an interstellar newspaper at such a young age, she might have been a little spacey, but she had one obvious talent: an exceptionally good, near-photographic mory.
