Sensing a hint of accusation in his tone, Qiudao imdiately explained, "We just finished our overti training, and this strear happened to go live."

"We were just enjoying it to unwind and relieve so fatigue."

The fact that a good al could relieve ntal tension was an effect the Admiral himself had acknowledged.

Their explanation was detailed.

Mo Si looked up. "I have no intention of punishing you. There’s no need to be so tense."

"I just ca to ask you a few questions."

"You just finished, I presu? Is the fatigue gone?"

Qiudao and Changbei both raised their hands, saying they felt much more energetic.

Mo Si gave a slight nod.

Perhaps Changbei could sense that Mo Si’s curiosity about Jiang Jiujiu’s live streams had recently peaked. Or maybe it was because the Admiral, having just finished his chat with Terry, was in an unusually good mood. Whatever the reason, Changbei felt a surge of courage and decided to launch into his ultimate sales pitch.

"Admiral, the food this strear makes is truly delicious."

"I think it’s sothing everyone should try. Once you have a taste, you’ll never forget it... You should give it a try too, Admiral. You’re always so busy handling classified matters for the corps and the Expeditionary Army. You really should try it."

He was giving the pitch his all. Mo Si was taken aback for a mont before replying, "I see."

’He possessed the most superior sensory Genes in the entire Federation; no one could appreciate that flavor more intensely than he could—’

"In the future, you can watch the streams during your off-duty hours, as long as you’ve completed your required training. No need to be so cautious."

"I grant my permission."

"Roger!"

"Carry on."

With that, Mo Si turned and headed for his office.

It was then that the sharp-eyed Qiudao noticed he was actually wearing a cloak. "Strange. Did the Admiral go to inspect the corps?"

"Huh? No, he didn’t."

"Then why... is he suddenly wearing his cloak?" The Admiral only dressed so formally when conducting inspections.

"He probably just grabbed it out of habit," Changbei said, ever the casual one. "Forget the cloak. You saw how calm the Admiral looked. He’s definitely not impressed!"

"He’ll definitely never watch the stream. Ah, the Admiral is really... he’s missing out on so much amazing food. Rice noodle rolls, pork chops, red-braised pork, roast duck, braised bamboo shoots, spicy blood curd... Every dish is incredible. It’s a sha the Admiral won’t get to try any. Such a pity."

"Don’t waste your pity. Can you even picture the Admiral using his terminal to watch a live stream?" Qiudao shot him a sidelong glance.

Changbei was instantly speechless.

...

’Fair enough. He really couldn’t picture it.’

Mo Si, the very man his two adjutants were currently pitying for being "unable to enjoy the finest things in life," walked into his office. He frowned, a hint of irritation clouding his features.

A book lay on his desk. He picked it up out of habit and sat down, but a strange, soft pressure imdiately forced him back to his feet with a bizarre expression on his face.

’There was no mirror in the office, but there was only one reason his well-fitting pants would suddenly feel tight.’

The intense flavor of that day’s dish had overwheld his senses and struck a soft spot deep within his heart, causing him to lose control of his tail.

The tail erged from his tailbone, pushing the fabric of his pants taut.

He could neither sit nor stand comfortably.

The friction was disconcerting.

He wanted to know if this inability to control his Genes was a personal reaction. Enduring the awkwardness, he had put on the cloak before going to find Qiudao and Changbei, only to see they were completely unaffected.

Apparently, he was the exception.

On so impulse, Mo Si reached behind him and pressed down on the fluffy protrusion.

He flattened it, but the mont he let go, it sprang back up with a soft *POOF*, as if it had a life of its own.

Mo Si: ...

-

"What’s up with the Admiral today? Why’d he leave wearing his cloak?"

"...Who knows. Maybe he’s on his way to a banquet?"

"Sothing just feels off," Qiudao said, his eyes fixed on the corner of the cloak. Suddenly, the imposing figure of the man turned, his dark eyes eting Qiudao’s gaze.

Qiudao instinctively looked away. After Mo Si had left, he mused, "It seems the Admiral really didn’t like people looking at him today."
