Chapter 1258: Showing Worth
After revealing the probable cause for not trusting the God of Darkness blindly, the divine weapon made from his will, aka Beelzebub, made a demand that Kahn first has to prove his worth to wield its might. A scenario often repeated in novels where every sentient overpowered weapon with an ego followed that trope mandatorily.
“Oh, fuck off!” replied Kahn instantly.
“Umm, what?!” asked Beelzebub, slightly bewildered.
“I said, Fuck off!” spoke Kahn nonchalantly.
“I don’t understand. Are you not your right mind, mortal?” asked the floating scythe.
“Looks like you didn’t understand the first time I told you. The only thing I sought from you was to learn about the true intentions of the God of Darkness.
As for you, as the divine weapon which is already supposed to be mine…
I have no need to prove myself to you or anyone else. Your involvement in my life or plans to kill the Demon God… is not needed.” clarified Kahn with a stern gaze and deep voice.
“What are you saying? To kill the Demon God, you must have a divine weapon to be capable of doing it in the first place.
Did you not hear why we were created with the ability to end it entirely.” said Beelzebub.
“You speak as if you haven’t failed already the last time you fought and killed him 300 years ago.
And look where it has brought us… repeating the same cycle with me in the picture this time.
If you hadn’t failed… I would still be living happily on earth, like a normal human.
Yet now, I have to shoulder the fate of the entire multiverse.” said Kahn with an indignant tone.
“How do you plan to kill the Demon God by yourself, then?” asked Beelzebub, his red eyes glowing violently.
“Who said I’m doing it all by myself? I already have him…” spoke Kahn and placed his right palm on his heart and spoke with a devious grin.
“Wake up…”
And the very next moment…
BOOM!!
A massive scalding aura erupted as an ethereal entity materialized in front of everyone.
Black, white, blue, green, red, and yellow colored flames enpassed basically everything in this hidden frozen realm.
This entity took a humanoid form and revealed its intense gaze as if a monarch was looking down upon all the creations of the world.
Kahn also gazed at this entity with whom he felt an indescribable connection as he spoke its name…
“Amaterasu.”

The divine weapon that was historically used by the Hero/Heroine of Fire for the past 3000 years, now suddenly made an appearance as it was summoned by the current Hero of Darkness.
The chilling cold realm suddenly saw a hike in temperature, and even the permafrost started to drop its temperature in mere seconds.
If any normal human were present in this scenario, they would have been instantly incinerated, leaving behind only ashes of their body and bones.
“Ah, you arrogant bastard… you’re still annoying as ever.” spoke Amaterasu as its divine fire basically took over the atmosphere in the throne room.
Beelzebub, on the other hand, was shocked and speechless for a minute.
“What is this?! How are you present here?!” he exclaimed with bewilderment.
“I am simply following my contractor. What’s to be surprised about that?” asked Amaterasu.
SILENCE!
The divine weapon meant for Kahn suddenly went silent after hearing this information.
“So you dared to claim my contractor this time? Is this revenge for our last battle that you lost?” he asked begrudgingly.
“No, rather… I chose him out of my free will.” said Amaterasu sternly.
“Unlike Fringilla, my 7th Contractor and Axel, the recently deceased Hero of Fire… this child is actually hard working, and he has already achieved 100% affinity with the Fire element as well as immunity that es with the Divine Key, Flamescion.” revealed the divine fire.
“Now I see that the Divine Key, Deathslayer, has also been awakened.
He would be the 17th hero in history to have acquired more than 1 divine key. 3rd to have contracted another divine weapon instead of their own.” he added upon the revelation.
“Wait, there were others who killed fellow heroes before, and some even contracted other divine weapons?” asked Kahn.
“Yes. It was to gain access to the Peninsulas in Hesperides and get their hands on the Apples of Eden allocated to other heroes.
Although I was the first one to gain temporary control over all of them 300 years ago, I didn’t actually make a contract with them before harnessing their powers to kill the Demon God.” revealed Morpheus.
“Ah, no wonder anybody could end this war in the past three thousand years. Not only was it impossible to kill the Demon God, but the people who could kill it, were busy killing each other.” said Kahn with an exasperated tone.
“Yes, much like your modern-day office politics.” replied Morpheus as he nodded his head.
Amaterasu then interjected…
“You’re also the 2nd hero of darkness to control another divine weapon.”
“What? One of my predecessors already did it?” asked Kahn with eyes wide open.
“Yes, the 4th Hero of Darkness.
However, his life span shortened and he died just a decade later despite being a 6th stage saint at that point.” revealed Morpheus.
Amaterasu then continued…
“Do you remember when I told you all those years ago that we Divine Weapons need a Divine Key to be bound to a chosen Hero or Heroine and then use the Soul Essence of the Contractor to use our true powers?”
“Yes.” responded Kahn while nodding.
“The 4th Hero of Darkness lost his soul essence even without actively using both divine weapons, as he did not master the techniques handed to him by that divine weapon.
I handed you the Remembrance of the Eternal Flame technique so you could wield me properly without consuming your Soul Essence unless you use me intentionally.” said Amaterasu as he recounted their previous meeting when he had materialized for the first time right after Kahn achieved perfect affinity with Fire Element.
Kahn responded with a respectful tone…
“Yes. And I am almost 95% close to mastering it already. The stronger I get, the easier it bees to understand and mand the divine weapon.”
“Thanks to your technique, my Soul Essence is already improved by almost 2 times pared to other heroes.” revealed Kahn.
All the years of hard work he did passively did not go to waste.
“Wait, what?! Your Soul Essence is already twice the reserve of a normal hero?” asked Beelzebub, quivering in the air from the sudden, shocking revelation.
“Yes. I have been feeling its effects even more ever since I awakened Deathslayer.” explained Kahn casually.
“Good. You will face no issues like that predecessor of yours, even if you wield two divine weapons.
The biggest question is… Do you even need two divine weapons?” asked Amaterasu with a sly smile.
“At this point… I don’t actually need Beelzebub.” spoke Kahn, and his next words directly addressed the war scythe.
“Now, prove it to me,” said Kahn.
“Prove what?” asked Beelzebub with a puzzled face.
BOOM!!!
Kahn’s intense aura erupted as its grim voice echoed…
“That you are worthy to be wielded by me!”
