Behind Huang Yi, a group of still-shaken people hurriedly looked toward the end of the long street.
At the end of the long street stood about a dozen young n, casually forming silhouettes under the night moon. Their shadows stretched out on the stone slab road, like a group of delinquents.
They had set up a massive siege crossbow between them. The gigantic arrow that had just claid the lives of a hundred people had been launched from that siege crossbow. At the mont, a few of the young n were working together to load another huge arrow, preparing to fire again.
Huang Yi’s gaze locked onto the leading youth of that group. The youth, with a ponytail and handso features, had a kind of feminine beauty. He was dressed in a red mage robe, holding a ball of fire, apparently a mage class.
"Ladies and gentlen, a group of young n has appeared at the end of the long street, led by the beautiful youth Ling Luo, one of the Four Great Protectors of the Martial Arts Guild! They have blocked the path of the God of Slaughter. Up next, we might witness a bloodbath on this street..." At that mont, the surviving reporters who followed Huang Yi started to comnt hurriedly, as if they sensed that a great battle was inevitable.
Huang Yi had heard of Ling Luo before. Along with Starry Sky, the vice president of the Martial Arts Guild, they were two famous beautiful young n of the guild. However, their hearts were very venomous, forming a sharp contrast to their boy-next-door appearance.
"God of Slaughter, everyone says that you’re the number one person in the world right now, but I’m a bit skeptical," Ling Luo said as he stepped forward from the end of the long street, playing with the fla in his hand and continuing, "I want to test your strength personally. So how about I let you have the first move?"
"I don’t want to bully a child. You make the first move," Huang Yi shook his head.
"Haha!" Ling Luo suddenly burst out laughing, his ponytail trembling with his laughter. His beautiful eyes stared at Huang Yi as if he had seen right through him and he said deliberately, "You’re afraid to attack , aren’t you, you coward!"
With that, Ling Luo’s figure flashed, and the next mont he suddenly blinked in front of Huang Yi, slamming the fireball in his hand towards Huang Yi’s head!
Huang Yi stood still, allowing him to attack, because only then could he enter a state of legitimate self-defense!
However, the next mont, the fireball in Ling Luo’s hand stopped abruptly three centiters from Huang Yi’s forehead, and didn’t go any further!
Ti seed to freeze at that mont, both n motionless.
After a full second, the audience finally reacted. The anticipated fight had not started; Ling Luo had rely feinted, not attacking Huang Yi.
"God of Slaughter, it seems you really are afraid of !" Ling Luo withdrew his hand and looked at Huang Yi with exaggerated expression, even circling him, scrutinizing him closely, "I’m right in front of you and you still don’t make a move. Could your courage be any smaller? How can a coward like you hope to win the Best Individual Award?"
Huang Yi quietly watched Ling Luo, not saying a word, like a silent lion.
"God of Slaughter, you’re the leader of the Chinese players! How can you be so timid now? Are all Chinese like this?" Ling Luo provocatively moved his feminine face close to Huang Yi, challenging him, "Everyone says how formidable the God of Slaughter is, but I see he’s nothing but a coward. Qin Shiyu, such a beautiful woman, is wasting her ti following you. She should follow instead. I’m younger and more handso than you, and I’m even better in bed!"
"God of Slaughter, co on, make a move! He’s insulting you so much, if you don’t respond, you’re not a man!"
"Yeah! God of Slaughter, show so spirit!"
"Why are Chinese so weak, only good at talking big, but afraid when it cos to actual fighting!"
"What else would you expect from the Sick n of East Asia? Haha!"
At this mont, players from the Martial Arts Guild in the crowd began to incite further, openly insulting Huang Yi and even ridiculing all Chinese in general.
Their words, clearly broadcast through the live stream to the entire world, echoed in the ears of every Chinese viewer! Countless people suddenly felt a surge of anger from deep within, all of them wanting Huang Yi to strike imdiately and kill these people!
So people at the scene were reporters from Chinese dia, their fists clenched tight, bodies trembling with anger.
Ling Luo, with just a few sentences, had pushed Huang Yi to the edge of a cliff. If Huang Yi didn’t make a move, even the Chinese players would look down on him. However, he couldn’t afford to gain Sin Value; he was afflicted with the Slaughter Curse, unable to cleanse his sins. Once he killed, there would be no turning back!
"Chinese people are the most nurous in the world, but indeed, they have the smallest guts, haha!"
"Chinese? You’re wrong, it’s Zhina people!"
In the crowd, the players from the Martial Arts Guild were becoming more offensive with their jeering, their mocking expressions clearly captured in Huang Yi’s eyes, in the eyes of each Chinese reporter, and through their eyes, in the eyes of every Chinese player around the world!
"God of Slaughter, strike now!" At that mont, a Chinese reporter finally couldn’t restrain himself any longer and called out to Huang Yi, his voice trembling with anger.
"God of Slaughter, finish them quickly! Who cares about Sin Value, just clean it up!" Another Chinese reporter urged, knowing that Huang Yi could wipe out those before him in a matter of minutes if he made a move.
"God of Slaughter, did you hear that? Even your own Chinese people are pushing you to make a move!" At this ti, Ling Luo said to Huang Yi with exaggerated coloring, fanning the flas even higher!
Huang Yi took a deep breath, looked around at the crowd once more, then locked his gaze on Ling Luo and said coldly, "Do you really think I dare not make a move? You’re mistaken, I ca here to kill!"
With these words, he did sothing unprecedented in the world up until now—
"[System Announcent]: [God of Slaughter] declares war on the Land of Dongying."
In an instant, a solemn and dignified voice echoed throughout The Second World, reaching every continent, and through live-streaming, reached the ears of every viewer.
Countless people were stunned!
In the three years since The Second World was launched, no one had ever initiated War Mode! And yet, Huang Yi had just done so!
War Mode could only be initiated when Prestige Points reached certain conditions; it was not sothing just anyone could do. Players in War Mode, when killing players from enemy nations, wouldn’t gain Sin Value and could indulge in wanton slaughter. However, there was a catch: they couldn’t hide their identities anymore, as they would bear an eye-catching War Aura, making it obvious to others that they were the enemy. Within the territory of the enemy nation, they would be like rats in the street, everyone calling to strike them down, which made movent highly inconvenient.
What’s more, after initiating War Mode, one represents their backing country! A defeat would be considered a national defeat! And all of the player’s Prestige Points would be wiped clean instantly.
Now that Huang Yi had initiated War Mode against the Land of Dongying, although it was his personal action and unrelated to other Chinese players, should the system judge him defeated, it would an the entire nation of China had been defeated!
No one had ever dared to initiate War Mode before, fearing defeat and becoming a national criminal. Huang Yi had these reservations before, but now, Ling Luo and the others had successfully provoked the anger of Chinese players, sweeping away his hesitations. Initiating War Mode now perfectly matched the Chinese players’ expectations to vent their rage! No one would accuse him of acting on his own anymore. Instead, countless Chinese players would support him!
At this mont, Huang Yi was not just representing himself but the entire Hero’s Continent. Everything he did on the Land of Dongying going forward would be included in the system’s judgent criteria, and the final war result between both sides would be comprehensively judged by the system.
"You wanted to take action, didn’t you? Now I can!" Huang Yi said to a stupefied Ling Luo at this ti.
Ling Luo’s mouth twitched. He was almost face to face with Huang Yi and still held the provocative stance he had before. But now, he suddenly felt as though he was in the presence of a peerless beast, his spine chilled, his life no longer having any guarantee, even inside two of the most important cities of the Martial Arts Guild, Northern Sea City being no exception.
The next mont, Ling Luo wanted to imdiately Blink away, but he couldn’t use it successfully. He had just used Blink to provoke Huang Yi and was now in its cooldown period. Shaking slightly, he simply turned around and started to run away.
But just as Ling Luo turned, Huang Yi’s Bloodstained War Halberd thrust out like lightning, unleashing all the frustration that had been suppressed in his heart onto Ling Luo!
"Boom!" Ling Luo, the fragile Fire Mage, was instantly blown apart, his flesh and blood exploding and splattering onto the surrounding players.
The entire crowd was dumbfounded, everyone staring at Huang Yi, especially those mbers of the Martial Arts Guild who had been shouting provocations. One of their Four Great Protectors was just killed in an instakill by Huang Yi, sticking to their faces.
Afterwards, Huang Yi turned his head, his bloody gaze sweeping over each and every Martial Arts Guild player. At this mont, his face was covered with Ling Luo’s blood, dripping down, his appearance terrifyingly ferocious.
Those who were caught in his gaze felt like they had been pricked with a needle, their bodies involuntarily shuddering, a terror rising within them that they couldn’t suppress. Before, Huang Yi in their eyes was like a lion in chains, but now, the chains were broken!
"Do not take our kindness for weakness," said Huang Yi, enunciating each word, then charged into the crowd of the Martial Arts Guild, beginning a massive slaughter!
For days, he had been restraining himself from killing due to the Slaughter Curse, but now he could indulge to his heart’s content. With the Slaughter Curse in effect, his Attributes against other players doubled. Not to ntion Northern Sea City, there wasn’t a single person in the whole world who could match him.
Huang Yi wielded the Bloodstained War Halberd in large sweeps; with each swing, he instakilled a swath of people. Those mbers of the Martial Arts Guild who had shouted before were as fragile as wheat, all falling before even a single strike from him!
At that mont, all players around the world watching the live stream saw an exceedingly bloody scene before them. Where Huang Yi went, no one could stand. Limbs and body parts flew everywhere, and bodies either fell or were thrown out.
This was not a wolf entering a sheepfold, but a dragon among rats! (To be continued. If you like this work, we welco you to Starting Point (qidian) to cast your Recomndation Ticket and Monthly Tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian to continue reading.)
