Huang Yi quietly pondered, his mind flashing back to the innocent dead he had seen earlier in the city, the dark demon dragon child, and those tear-filled eyes.
In the end, he ca to a conclusion.
This ti, if he stood on Molei’s side, it was actually an act of humanitarianism!
The actions of Jin Shenglin and the others might have been righteous, but from the perspective of humanitarianism, no matter how justified their reasons were, they could not justify harming innocents, especially a child.
Huang Yi suddenly realized how conflicted he felt today. He was a headsman himself. Since entering The Second World, he didn’t know how many innocents he had killed, and he had never considered humanitarianism before.
But in this trial, he had to make such a choice.
Should he choose justice, or should he choose humanitarianism?
"Ti is running out. Make your decision quickly, or it may be too late." At this mont, Molei’s anxious voice sounded again, urging Huang Yi.
At that very mont, the air around seed to echo with endless roaring sounds, reverberating in Huang Yi’s mind!
The roars of hundreds of dragons’ various attacks, the celebratory cries of the human army below, the anguished screams of innocent civilians, and Molei’s desperate urging all converged from every direction, colliding fiercely against his eardrums!
A cacophony of countless sounds seed intent on tearing his thoughts apart, driving him mad.
Ti was running out, the battle was growing ever more critical, and he could no longer afford to delay. He had to make a decision imdiately!
"Headsn! What wrong did my child do? Why must you kill him?" Just then, a woman’s anguished scream resounded from a distant residential building.
Another innocent victim had been ruthlessly killed by those human armies! And this ti the victim was a child!
The woman’s voice, at that instant, beca a catalyst, forcing words out of Huang Yi’s mouth without hesitation. He muttered to himself, "Molei, I promise you—I’ll escort your child out of the city."
Then, he tensed up, waiting for the System Prompt.
He did not know if his actions were right or wrong. But he felt that humanitarianism was greater than justice.
Even though this was just The Second World, and Jin Shenglin’s Dragon Clan army was not human, the scene staged against Molei was, after all, a creation of the Era of Corporation. Even if they were part of the Dragon Clan, they had been subtly imbued with certain human traits.
From the perspective of the real world, no matter how heinous soone’s cris were, basic humanitarian treatnt ought to be ensured.
For instance, when a death row inmate was executed, no matter how grievous their cris, no matter how detestable, it was not permissible to use thods of torture like dismbernt to carry out the execution. Instead, it had to be carried out with the swiftest thods, such as a firing squad or lethal injection, to minimize the prisoner’s suffering. Moreover, even after execution, the integrity of the convict’s body had to be preserved.
This was an embodint of humanitarianism—further exemplified by legal protections for minors. If a child committed a wrong, the law could forgive them.
Considering this, Huang Yi ultimately made his decision; he resolved to help Molei this ti.
The next mont, Huang Yi finally heard the System Prompt—
"[System Prompt]: Your actions are correct."
Hearing the System Prompt, he heaved a sigh of relief.
"Thank you!" Molei’s grateful voice sounded in Huang Yi’s ears at this mont. "Go to the East City District, to the street west of the Colosseum. Enter the third building, and dig down one ter in the eastern corner of the basent. There, you’ll find a cellar. Through that cellar, you can access the interior of the barrier."
Upon hearing this, Huang Yi imdiately urged Little Dragon to quietly fly toward the location Molei ntioned.
By now, the siege army was on the brink of victory. Apart from the hundreds of dragons attacking the barrier, the human army road the city everywhere. Huang Yi flying over the city did not attract much attention.
After flying toward the East City District for a while, Huang Yi finally saw a massive and majestic building in the distance. The structure resembled the Roman Colosseum, with high walls on all sides enclosing a vast central space.
Located in a relatively remote part of the city, the area had few siege troops stationed there.
Following Molei’s instructions, Huang Yi arrived at the designated house and dug one ter into the ground, where he indeed found a cellar. Below, the pitch-black space revealed a passage leading to an even darker region.
Huang Yi stowed away Little Dragon and imdiately jumped down into the cellar, entering the darkness. With his extraordinary night vision, he was able to see clearly upon landing.
He stepped into the passage within the cellar, swiftly moving forward, leaving behind the victorious atmosphere of the city above.
The passage stretched on interminably. Huang Yi walked for a long ti without reaching the end, the path ahead shrouded in endless darkness.
Just then, Huang Yi’s incarnation in Hero’s Continent suddenly heard an imnse, distant voice resound across the heavens and earth—
"[System Announcent]: [Sword Emperor] has passed the Hero Trial and beco a Heaven-Sent Hero."
The second Heaven-Sent Hero had erged!
A sense of urgency surged within Huang Yi. With Dragon Spike already having claid one portion of Heroic Aura, only three portions remained. Now that Sharp Sword had claid another, only two portions of Heroic Aura were left to contend for, while three candidates remained.
Three contenders for two portions of Heroic Aura made it even more difficult. Though it did not necessarily an there would only ever be two portions available in the future, Oskan Royal Academy’s demigods might get lucky and uncover more. Still, such outcos were not guaranteed.
Within the secret passage, Huang Yi quickened his pace. He had to ensure he secured one portion of Heroic Aura. He could not fail this trial, or he would have to start over, wasting precious ti.
After walking for a long ti, Huang Yi finally erged from the long passage into a room.
The room exuded a chilling aura, with no lighting save for faint glimrs. It was completely devoid of people.
Huang Yi pushed open the door of the room, stepping out into a massive hallway.
On either side of the hallway, dim, flickering lamps cast wavering shadows, mirroring the oppressive atmosphere, ready to extinguish at any mont.
Two maid-like figures hurried toward him through the hallway. Their faces were filled with despair, as if acutely aware that their remaining ti was scant. The sound of their brisk footsteps seed to press on one’s heart.
"Please follow us!" The two maids, trembling, spotted Huang Yi and extended their hands in invitation.
Huang Yi imdiately followed, walking alongside them through the long hallway.
Finally, the two palace maidens led Huang Yi to the central, innermost building of the City Lord’s Mansion, where they pushed open a grand door, revealing an enormous chamber. The extravagant decor of the room was unparalleled compared to anything Huang Yi had seen in this secret realm.
The floor was black, with a long, ticulously crafted staircase leading upward to a throne—a Dragon Throne. Upon it sat a man clad in a black Dragon Robe, emanating an imposing sense of authority.
At this mont, the Dragon Robe-clad man gripped the throne’s armrest, from which dense black energy continuously flowed, as if the throne’s armrest contained so kind of special chanism.
In his other arm, he cradled a sleeping child. The child had a delicate face, appearing no older than thirteen or fourteen in human years. Curled up in the Dragon Robe-clad man’s embrace, he seed to have found a harbor, a safe refuge, sleeping peacefully.
The Dragon Robe man gazed lovingly at the child in his arms and, with a trace of reluctant affection, asked.
"Thank you for agreeing to help !" The Dragon Robe man finally raised his head, addressing Huang Yi below the steps.
Evidently, this man in the black Dragon Robe was none other than Dark Demon Dragon, Molei, having transford from dragon form into human form.
He resembled an emperor, seated on the Dragon Throne one last ti, awaiting the challenger who would dethrone him and end his era. It was the tragic grandeur of a kingdom on the brink of collapse—a historical tide of dynastic change, unstoppable.
Molei fixed his gaze on Huang Yi and continued, "Soon, I will entrust my child to you. Your unique status makes you less suspicious in their eyes, so I feel at ease having you take my child and leave."
"Why don’t you take him yourself?" Huang Yi asked. With Molei’s imnse strength, escorting his own child out should have been effortless.
"My child was previously absorbing a Dragon Emperor Heavenly Stone, the most powerful treasure of our Dragon Clan. But the Dragon Emperor Heavenly Stone cannot be moved—this city was built around it. My child has fully absorbed the stone, and I am now helping him with the final stage of assimilation. Please wait just a little longer. Afterward, my child will enter a month-long slumber. I ask that you take him away from here, traveling westward until you reach a valley where three rivers converge. There, you will find a beautiful woman nad Georgia, a Holy Giant Dragon. She will protect my child."
"Holy Giant Dragon, Georgia!" Hearing this na, Huang Yi was montarily stunned.
That ant this secret realm now had three God Sealers!
Holy Giant Dragon, Georgia, was another imnsely powerful God Sealer, standing shoulder to shoulder with Golden Holy Dragon, Jin Shenglin, and Dark Demon Dragon, Molei.
