T’Challa smoothly piloted the royal aircraft into the city center, a place that seamlessly bined primitive and cutting-edge technology. Finally, he bypassed the royal palace and arrived at his sister’s underground laboratory.
The aircraft landed on the open space in front of the laboratory, and T’Challa, along with Bucky and Lin Rui, disembarked.
This was Shuri’s technological research center, and usually, only those authorized by T’Challa’s sister were allowed inside. T’Challa had informed her in advance about their visit, so there were no other people present at this time.
Following T’Challa, Bucky and Lin Rui walked into the hall, which appeared to be filled with futuristic black technology. On the way, Lin Rui noticed that the entire building was constructed within a mine, and the tunnels below, along with the rapidly moving maglev-like trains, contained Wakanda’s invaluable vibranium.
“Rumors say vibranium es from space. Did that meteor-carrying vibranium crash here in Wakanda, creating a mine that could be mined for hundreds of years?” Lin Rui wondered aloud as they continued following T’Challa.
Lin Rui, despite his over-the-top enthusiasm for black technology, was also silently observing the vibranium deposits and their origins within the core building of Wakanda. If vibranium truly came from space and had such a massive reserve, it was astounding.
However, Lin Rui’s scientific mind started to question the authenticity of this narrative. Maybe vibranium didn’t arrive on Earth through a meteorite after all. Regardless, vibranium’s origin was less important now that it was right in front of Lin Rui.
He was in the heart of Wakanda, and he had the means to participate in the Black Panther’s storyline.
With a quick thought, Lin Rui, acting like a typical youngster, followed T’Challa into his sister’s high-tech laboratory. Although this laboratory was usually occupied by researchers, Shuri had cleared it out for the occasion.
After all, Wakanda had never been weling to outsiders, and bringing two strangers to his own successor ceremony was a risk that T’Challa was willing to take.
Once they entered the spacious laboratory, T’Challa spotted his sister, who was standing with crossed arms, wearing an exasperated expression as she waited for him.
“Hey, Shuri!” T’Challa enthusiastically called out his sister’s name and walked over to her.
“My King, you’ve really outdone yourself now! You said you were bringing a good friend, but now there’s another outsider. If Mother and the others find out later, I won’t be able to help you!” Shuri, ignoring her brother’s enthusiasm, looked over Bucky and Lin Rui with a somewhat unfriendly expression.
“Hehe! Shuri, don’t worry. With you, my genius sister, helping us, how could Mother and the others possibly find out? Besides, as soon as the successor ceremony ends, I’ll escort them out, and nothing will happen.” T’Challa responded with a smile.
With Shuri’s control over Wakanda’s technology, concealing two people during the successor ceremony was a simple task. As long as Bucky and Lin Rui behaved, they could genuinely witness T’Challa’s successor ceremony.
“Who said I’m helping you?! I don’t want to get into trouble!” Shuri retorted, then turned and walked toward her worktable, seemingly uninterested in assisting T’Challa.
As for the two people T’Challa had brought, Shuri had already investigated Bucky’s background. Although she hadn’t uncovered much, she didn’t share the same seriousness and suspicion as the leader of the Dora Milaje. Since T’Challa considered Bucky a friend, Shuri didn’t have any major objections.
As for the youngster who had been wandering around like a fool since entering, Shuri spared him a glance. Granted, Lin Rui did have a handsome appearance, which stood out among the predominantly Black population of Wakanda. However, once Shuri observed Lin Rui’s behavior, she didn’t pay much more attention to him.
After Shuri turned away, T’Challa naturally followed her. If he couldn’t persuade his sister, Bucky and Lin Rui would have to stay in this laboratory. There was no point in bringing them inside Wakanda at the risk of being scolded by his mother and the stubborn tribal elders.
Bucky and Lin Rui were temporarily left aside. This laboratory was Wakanda’s most crucial research facility, and every move they made was monitored by the intelligent system. Even if they wanted to cause trouble, nothing unexpected would happen here.
As T’Challa went after Shuri to persuade her, Bucky and Lin Rui wandered around the vast laboratory filled with black technology. Bucky, as a super soldier, recognized that everything in the laboratory was highly advanced, but he didn’t feel the same level of awe as Lin Rui.
Lin Rui, on the other hand, saw more than just advanced technology. Apart from his formidable powers, he was also an outstanding genius who had learned from Tony Stark for a considerable period.

However, Lin Rui overlooked one crucial detail. Wakanda had never entirely closed its doors to the world. Every generation of Wakandans sent gifted youngsters out to study the world’s top technology with Wakanda’s support.
These youngsters then returned to Wakanda to contribute to its development. So, Wakanda’s advanced technology was not entirely indigenous; it had received outside assistance. With the boost from vibranium, Wakanda had surpassed countless nations and organizations in terms of technological advancement.
