[Reward Details: A special dossier listing all politically talented individuals in the Chiba region who possess significant potential but have been buried or suppressed due to various circumstances (backing the wrong faction, making enemies, lacking connections, etc.). The file includes detailed profiles covering their political ambitions, capability assessnts, personality weaknesses, and precise leverage points for recruitnt or patronage.]

Oh? Interesting.

The corner of Seiji's mouth curved upward.

From passively wielding blackmail to actively cultivating my own political network. The system knows how to escalate things properly.

He finished breakfast at a leisurely pace before turning his attention to the dossier.

Nas scrolled past. Most were minor players scraping by on the margins of Chiba's political scene.

Then one entry caught his eye.

[Keiichiro Chida] [Age: 36] [Position: Ordinary mber, Chiba City Council] [Capability Assessnt: A- (Sharp political instincts, exceptional public speaker, highly persuasive)] [Personality Weakness: Fiercely ambitious and impatient for results, but common-born with no backing. Routinely marginalized and suppressed within the council.] [Recruitnt Leverage: Promise a viable political future and provide an opportunity significant enough to serve as his pledge of loyalty.]

Keiichiro Chida...

A glint of amusent passed through Seiji's eyes.

You'll do.

His timing proved impeccable. One of his trusted lieutenants strode in, encrypted folder in hand.

"Sir, this just ca in. Latest developnts regarding the Yukinoshita family."

Seiji took the file and flipped it open.

"Hiroaki's making his move?"

"He's turned several of Yukinoshita Construction's core suppliers. Plans to use legitimate comrcial pressure to create scheduling problems for Haruno Yukinoshita's projects."

Seiji nodded as he read.

Shrewd and ruthless. The kind of play Haruno couldn't fend off alone. Best case, her position would erode from main family heir to branch family afterthought. Worst case, she and Yukino would be expelled from the Yukinoshita household entirely, or married off as bargaining chips.

That was what happened to losers in a family power struggle. These things were never settled gently.

But...

"Perfect timing."

The words ca out soft, almost to himself, as he cross-referenced the encrypted file with the dossier in his mind.

"If the new blood wants to rise, the old guard has to fall."

"Use Hiroaki Yukinoshita to elevate Keiichiro Chida."

He paused. The smile on his lips went a few degrees colder.

"This ti, I'm not just dealing with Hiroaki. I'm going to use him as the broom that sweeps out every disobedient relic inside the Yukinoshita family. Clean house. Replace them with people who know how to listen."

"It's ti Haruno's seat was secure."

---

anwhile, in a private room at an upscale ryotei in central Chiba.

Hiroaki Yukinoshita was practically glowing as he raised his sake cup, holding court before his assembled business allies with the enthusiasm of a man who slled blood.

"Go ahead, gentlen! Make your moves!"

"Of course I know how powerful Seiji Fujiwara is! Who'd be stupid enough to provoke him directly? We're not idiots!"

He took a sip, and that oily, calculating smile spread across his face.

"But my sources say his connection to that girl Haruno is nothing serious. She's a plaything at best."

"Think about it. A monster like that, you think he's short on won? Why would he burn bridges with all of Chiba's business community over so local toy?"

The others murmured agreent. The logic tracked.

"What he wants is face, and we'll give him face!" Hiroaki thumped his chest. "Everything we're doing targets internal Yukinoshita family affairs. None of his interests are touched. We show him respect, he shows us respect. He won't intervene."

This "perfectly reasonable" analysis drew nods from around the table. Businessn exchanged glances, and the last traces of worry evaporated.

"Hiroaki-san has the right of it!"

"Exactly. A man that important has a thousand things on his plate. He's not going to bother with our little Chiba squabble!"

The private room filled with confident, buoyant laughter.

---

On the other side of the city, in the president's office at Yukinoshita Construction.

Haruno Yukinoshita looked at the ergency briefing her secretary had placed before her, the one detailing a coordinated revolt by multiple core suppliers.

Not a flicker of anxiety crossed her face.

She turned through the pages with perfect calm, then spoke a single, unhurried sentence.

"Noted. Let them make their noise."

"Excuse ?" The secretary froze, certain she'd misheard. "P-President... this could threaten the company's entire foundation..."

"You can go."

Haruno didn't look up. The interruption ca in a tone so flat and so cold that the secretary's voice died in her throat.

"Yes, ma'am."

The secretary retreated, bewildered. The door clicked shut.

Only then did Haruno set down the file. Her gaze drifted to the window.

Her expression remained composed. But deep in those resilient eyes, sothing stirred. An emotion she barely recognized in herself.

She was absolutely certain Seiji Fujiwara would act.

And when he did, Uncle Hiroaki's "business maneuvers" would crumble like a paper lantern in a storm.

All she had to do was sit here. And wait.

---

Late that night. The study in Seiji Fujiwara's villa.

Keiichiro Chida.

He turned the na over once, then picked up the encrypted phone on his desk and dialed the number listed in the dossier.

The line rang for a long ti before soone answered.

A man's voice ca through, tired and wary. "...Hello? Who is this?"

"Councilman Chida?" Seiji smiled. "Good evening. My na is Seiji Fujiwara."

Silence. Dead, absolute silence.

Five full seconds passed before a violent coughing fit erupted on the other end, punctuated by the crash of a cup being knocked over.

"Fu... Fujiwara... Seiji-san?!"

Keiichiro Chida's voice shook with disbelief.

That man. The one who commanded Tokyo like a god descended from the heavens. Why would he... how could he possibly be calling soone like him? A nobody councilman in a provincial city?

A prank? Or had he drunk too much and started hallucinating?

"I'd like to et with you, Councilman. Are you free tomorrow?" Seiji's tone was easy, unhurried.

"...Yes. I'm free."

"I'll send you the ti and location. I look forward to it."

"Yes, sir!"

The call ended.

In a modest apartnt sowhere in Chiba, a man in his mid-thirties stared at his phone, expression blank with shock.

As a politician, his instincts were sharp enough. He'd known Seiji Fujiwara was in Chiba and had collected whatever public intelligence was available. Pure habit. He'd never imagined he would actually cross paths with soone of that magnitude.

And yet here it was.

"...That was Fujiwara-sensei's voice." Keiichiro gazed at the phone, murmuring to himself. "The number matches one of his known lines."

"But why ? Why would soone like that co looking for ?"

Confusion gave way to sothing else. He drew a long breath and pressed both palms against his face, scrubbing the fatigue away.

"Whatever the reason... this might be my chance."

---

The following day. A private room in an out-of-the-way mbers-only cafe in Chiba.

Keiichiro Chida sat across from Seiji Fujiwara, fidgeting like a man awaiting sentencing.

His heart hadn't stopped hamring since the phone call. Even now, sitting face to face with a man younger than himself yet radiating a presence as deep and fathomless as the ocean floor, one thought kept cycling through his head.

This is real.

The legendary Seiji Fujiwara had co to et him. In person.

What could I possibly offer soone like Fujiwara-sensei? His thoughts churned into white noise.

Seiji paid no mind to the man's nerves.

Without preamble, he pulled a docunt from the attaché case beside him and slid it across the table.

"Councilman Chida. I know you're ambitious, and I know you're capable."

His voice was warm and level, carrying a magnetism that bypassed reason entirely.

"Unfortunately, you lack connections. The council has shut you out at every turn. If you keep following the prescribed path, the best you can hope for is retiring in the sa seat you're sitting in now."

Each word landed like a scalpel finding the most tender nerve. Keiichiro's hand trembled around his water glass.

These were the truths he'd only spoken aloud to himself, late at night, drunk and bitter. And this man had laid them bare as casually as reading a weather report.

Seiji continued as though he hadn't noticed.

"I need you to handle a few things for in the council."

One finger tapped the docunt on the table.

"When it's done, the Yukinoshita family's political resources will shift entirely in your favor."

Then he looked up, t Keiichiro's eyes, and spoke the words that reached into the man's chest and stopped his heart.

"Within ten years, I guarantee you the chairmanship of the Chiba City Council."

Keiichiro went still. Every person in the room turned to stare.

Chair... chairman?

Ten years?

That's... that's impossible!

The chairmanship. A seat he hadn't dared dream about even in his most reckless fantasies. Political dynasties that had dominated Chiba for generations couldn't always secure that position. A commoner like him? Unthinkable.

"...Forgive my rudeness."

Keiichiro bowed first, then reached for the docunt.

He turned to the first page, and his breath stopped.

Na after na leapt off the paper. Nas he knew as well as his own face. The titans of Chiba politics. n he'd spent years looking up at, n so far above him that even envy felt presumptuous.

Behind each na, itemized in ticulous detail, was evidence of their cris.

Embezzlent. Bribery. Trading sex for political favors. Ties to organized cri.

Every charge backed by evidence so thorough it bordered on obscene.

And at the end of the docunt: an operational plan. A comprehensive, terrifyingly precise blueprint for purging every single one of them.

Keiichiro sucked in a sharp breath. The pages shook in his hands.

This wasn't paper he was holding. It was the severed political lifelines of dozens of powerful n.

Blackmail material of this caliber could generate staggering returns, whether wielded as a weapon or sold as a shield. But only if the person holding it was powerful enough to survive the backlash. Like an exquisite blade: lethal in trained hands, but give it to a child and all it attracts is predators.

He swallowed hard against the storm raging inside him.

He looked up. His eyes trembled as they found Seiji's. His voice ca out raw.

"Fujiwara... sir... what exactly are you asking to do?"

Seiji lifted his coffee and took a casual sip.

"I'll be direct. Haruno Yukinoshita is my woman. So flies in her family have been bothering her, and that's put in a bad mood."

A pause. Then, with the faintest smile:

"You're the pesticide I've selected."

Everything clicked.

In that single instant, Keiichiro understood the entire picture with blinding clarity.

Of course.

So this titan, this figure perched at the summit of Japan's power structure, was about to reshape the political landscape of an entire city... because his woman was unhappy?

The reason sounded absurd. And yet it made perfect sense.

It fit seamlessly with the legend. Seiji Fujiwara: young, ruthless, absurdly powerful, the kind of man who'd burn a fortune for a woman's smile and never look back.

Every lingering doubt in Keiichiro's mind evaporated.

What replaced it was excitent so fierce it bordered on mania.

This is it.

A once-in-a-lifeti chance to beco soone entirely new.

"Fujiwara-san! I understand!"

Keiichiro shot to his feet and bowed, a deep, ninety-degree bow, holding it there.

"From this day forward, Keiichiro Chida is yours to command! You point east, I march east! I am the sharpest blade in your hand. Aim , and I cut!"

He straightened, eyes blazing with fanatical loyalty.

"Good." Seiji nodded, satisfied. "I look forward to your performance."

Monday. The Chiba City Council chamber.

The atmosphere was stiff and soporific, the particular kind of boredom unique to institutional routine.

Most councilmbers sat at rigid attention, so with their eyes closed, others leafing through mind-numbing draft legislation. Small matters got the big etings. Big matters got the back rooms. Today's session, for most of them, was nothing more than another day to endure.

Senior Councilman Kosuke Matsui was a case in point.

As Hiroaki Yukinoshita's chief political ally and protector in governnt, he lounged in his seat with an air of thinly veiled contempt, his gaze sweeping over his colleagues.

diocrities, the lot of them.

As for that green little girl running the Yukinoshita family business? Not worth a second thought. Hiroaki had already laid the trap. Three days, maybe less, and that Haruno girl would be boxed in with nowhere to go. She'd hand over power like a good girl.

And when that happened, the benefits flowing his way would be considerable.

Matsui's smile deepened.

He failed to notice, in an unremarkable corner of the chamber, a pair of eyes tracking him with the patient, coiled intensity of a viper.

Keiichiro Chida.

The man who'd spent years being sidelined into irrelevance, who'd all but faded from his colleagues' mory, sat transford today. Suit pressed sharp. Spine straight. Sothing new burning behind his eyes.

His heart pounded against his ribs, blood surging with adrenaline.

He couldn't stop replaying what Seiji Fujiwara had told him in that cafe.

"Within ten years, I guarantee you the chairmanship of the Chiba City Council."

A slow, controlled breath. He tamped down the excitent.

He knew. Starting today, his life would never be the sa. He was no longer the punching bag everyone ignored. He was a weapon in the hand of soone who mattered.

And Kosuke Matsui was the first offering he would lay at his new master's feet.

"Moving on to the budget proposal for the East District comrcial corridor redevelopnt..."

The chairman's voice droned, a reliable sedative.

Just as the chamber was settling into its usual stupor, Keiichiro Chida surged to his feet.

"Mr. Chairman! I object!"

The words cracked through the room like a gunshot.

Every head turned. Every eye fixed on this nobody councilman with identical expressions of bewildernt.

Whispers rippled through the chamber. What had gotten into the eternal doormat today?

Matsui's brow furrowed. He looked at Keiichiro the way one might look at a clown who'd stumbled onto the wrong stage.

"Councilman Chida, do you have sothing to say?" The chairman adjusted his glasses, a note of impatience in his voice.

"It's not this proposal I'm objecting to."

Keiichiro's gaze cut across the room like a blade's edge, locking onto Kosuke Matsui. His voice wasn't loud, but it carried to every corner of the hall with crystalline clarity.
