"You’re not getting any younger. A man’s best genes are at this age, so you should hurry up!" Bao Jinpeng urged, the purpose of his call clear: he wanted Bo Sishen to bring his daughter-in-law ho and simultaneously push for an heir to the family.
"She’s not even 19 yet, just a freshman in college. She’ll graduate in three years." Bo Sishen rubbed his forehead, looking helpless.
He knew his father’s call wouldn’t co without a reason.
"Take advantage of youth! Do you think you’re still young? If you want to tie a woman down, you have to use a child. Otherwise, a young girl like her might et soone her own age and fall in love. Then, you’ll be abandoned, old man!" Bao Jinpeng earnestly advised over the phone.
Bo Sishen’s handso face darkened.
Old man?
Just as he was about to say sothing, his father interrupted, "Is it true, what they say... that you have issues in that departnt?"
Bo Sishen’s already dark face looked even worse. He coughed lightly and replied coldly, "She’s too young. I can’t bring myself to do it. As an upright military officer, how could I do sothing so cruel to a little girl? She has a bright future ahead, and I can’t bear to see her tied down by a child at such a young age."
That was Bo Sishen’s heartfelt truth.
He genuinely hoped that under his protection, Mu Shini could grow healthily and happily at her pri age, doing what she loved.
Not being prematurely tied down by family obligations.
"Go ahead and act tough! Though I’ve never t Nian Nian, I believe with her youth and beauty, she must have a line of suitors. Especially being in college now, at an age not yet worldly-wise, if you don’t watch her closely or stamp that marriage seal, she might get wooed away by so rich young man in school." Bao Jinpeng continued, "I fixed this marriage for you because I saw you couldn’t find a wife on your own. Now that the wife is ho, whether you can keep her depends on you."
Bo Sishen’s brows furrowed tightly, constantly massaging his throbbing temples.
His father’s comnt about his ’wimpy’ deanor put him in a difficult position.
Wasn’t that how that bratty girl described him?
Now even his father said the sa thing.
Am I really that old at this age?
"Alright, if there’s nothing urgent, I should..."
Before Bo Sishen could finish his sentence, he looked up and caught a glimpse of Mu Shini sneaking down the stairs, her little eyes caught red-handed by his piercing gaze.
"Uncle, I saw you were on the phone, so I didn’t want to disturb you. I’ll be on my way!"
Mu Shini, crouching, pretended to greet Bo Sishen calmly when their eyes t.
Then she quickly fled.
"Who? Who called you uncle? It sounded like a girl’s voice. Was that my daughter-in-law?" Bao asked excitedly.
"Father, rest well. I’ll bring her to see you when the ti cos. I’m hanging up now." Bo Sishen lowered his voice as he spoke to his father on the other end of the phone.
He hung up after speaking, swiftly got up, and marched forward to grab Mu Shini, asking with a stern face, "Where are you going?"
He was sitting in the living room to prevent Mu Shini from sneaking out.
Mu Shini ca down the stairs quietly, not expecting to see Bo Sishen sitting in the living room.
She thought he was deeply engaged in his phone call, only to be caught in the act!
