"Leave the car keys." Bo Sishen raised his hand to rub his temples, the alcohol causing him a severe headache.
Tan Mu felt his heart tighten with anxiety upon hearing this and said nervously, "Sir, I’ll co to pick you up tomorrow."
Tan Mu was genuinely worried about Bo Sishen driving while drunk in the middle of the night when he asked for the car keys.
Bo Sishen weakly waved his hand and said, "No need."
Tan Mu had no choice but to leave the car keys and carry out Bo Sishen’s instructions.
After Tan Mu left, the duplex apartnt fell into a deep silence. Except for the light in the living room, every other part of the house was dark.
Bo Sishen lay on the sofa for a while before staggering up and grabbing his phone to head upstairs.
His head hurt so much that he couldn’t even find the light switch. Eventually, he had no choice but to proceed by feel into the room where Mu Shini used to sleep.
When he felt the bed, his tall figure collapsed onto it. The soft bed enveloped his drunken body as he lay there, the faint scent in the air lingering in his nostrils.
He turned over. The scent of Mu Shini was faintly present on the sheets, the duvet cover, and the pillow.
He had always been a clean freak, changing his bedding daily.
But because Mu Shini had slept in this bed, he hadn’t let anyone change the sheets.
An indescribable feeling welled up in his heart, his chest feeling as if it were being tightly gripped by an invisible hand, the pain sothing only he could understand.
He rembered every word she had said to him on this bed. At this mont, these mories replayed in his mind like a rewinding movie.
...
After leaving, Tan Mu was still uneasy. He called Mu Shini and gave her an exaggerated account of Bo Sishen’s condition.
Two hours later, seeing Liao Jiawei’s car parked in front of the Sakura Building and Mu Shini getting out of the car, he finally felt at ease and left.
"Nian Nian, go up and take care of Bo Sishen. After all, he is still your husband. As long as you’re not divorced, there’s still a chance," Liao Jiawei persuaded Mu Shini. "Don’t worry too much about Gu Junru. I’ve consulted with the doctor, and there’s a sixty percent chance the child isn’t Bo Sishen’s. We need to look at the situation rationally, alright?"
"Grandpa, but whenever I see him, I just want to hit him," Mu Shini couldn’t get over his betrayal.
She was so angry that her teeth itched.
"Then hit him a few tis while he’s drunk. He won’t notice, and he won’t rember," Liao Jiawei said, understanding that Mu Shini was still willing to go up and take care of Bo Sishen.
"Fine, I’ll go up and beat him now!"
Mu Shini said, storming out of the car and into the elevator.
Liao Jiawei watched her and shook his head, thinking she was a real child.
...
Bo Sishen lay on the bed, inhaling her scent. He rembered her desperate look, his brows knitted tightly, his eyes closed, feeling dizzy and in pain.
Suddenly, he felt a gentle, slightly cool hand on his forehead. The touch was so comforting.
Instinctively, Bo Sishen opened his eyes and reached out to grab the hand, realizing soone was sitting at the edge of the bed.
"Nian Nian..."
Bo Sishen struggled to sit up, turning on the bedside lamp, unable to believe his eyes as he looked at the girl in front of him, his emotions surging.
Had she co back?
