Zhenyu was her childhood friend, an older brother three years her senior. Because her father was addicted to gambling and they had to avoid debts, she lost contact with Zhenyu.

Whenever she encountered anything, as long as she thought about soone worth waiting for, she told herself that no matter what happened, she still had Zhenyu.
She sat quietly on the bed, maintaining that posture until morning, only coming back to her senses from the sorrow of longing when the servant knocked on the door to invite her down for breakfast.
"Auntie, I’m not hungry..." Her voice carried a hint of hoarseness, so light like a thread of lancholy.
The servant looked troubled and hurriedly assisted Xia Qingqian to get out of bed, "The Young Master instructed you to definitely co down."
Xia Qingqian looked at the servant in confusion, her mouth twitching slightly before she quickly washed up and dressed, following the servant downstairs with her swollen red eyes.
As Xia Qingqian approached the dining table, the servant standing by quickly pulled out a chair for her, and another servant imdiately presented a platter of sumptuous breakfast.
Her gaze lightly fell on the face sitting coldly in front of the dining table, seeing his slender, slightly curved fingers elegantly stirring the cup of coffee.
Beitang Yao sat there like an authority, overpowering, even the servant standing behind him was waiting respectfully.
She sat down in front of the chair the servant pulled out, but secretly glanced at Beitang Yao sitting opposite her, his face cold and expressionless, eerie. Sitting at the sa table with him felt like having several mountains pressing down on her.
"Get down earlier for breakfast next ti." He said lightly, without lifting his head, his movents extrely elegant but obviously slow, as he took a small bite of the sandwich.
His casual words startled Xia Qingqian into a shiver, and she quickly nodded and made a sound of acknowledgnt. Only when Beitang Yao said nothing more did she lower her head and silently eat the breakfast in front of her.
This was the first ti Xia Qingqian sat face to face with Beitang Yao having breakfast together, the atmosphere was strangely eerie, even the air seed to congeal.
Looking at Beitang Yao’s bandaged wound, she finally gathered the courage to ask cautiously, "Young Master, is your wound okay?"
