In the distance, a man clad in black was sneering at Ye Rongguang, oozing out contempt. Suddenly, a voice distracts him, prompting him to turn his head.
A dazzling light was coming from afar.
The roaring of the motorcycle was intense. The people saw a bike charging straight towards them. Its headlights illuminating their faces, causing the crowd to involuntarily step back and shield their eyes.
Once their eyesight adjusted, they saw a breathtakingly beautiful girl sitting on the bike. White skirts fluttering, dangerous eyes squinting, as she observed the scene below.
The bike’s speed culminated in a quick turn, kicking up a cloud of dust before it finally ca to a halt.
Rain droplets traced down Ye Ning’s face, sliding past her pale cheeks. Everyone found her countenance angelic but also unsettling, sending their hearts wildly pounding against their chests.
"Ye Ning..." Rong Lihua angrily ca to her feet and scread, "Have you no sha, returning to the scene? Look at what you’ve done to us. You’ve gone and upset people whom you really should not have. Now see what’s happened!"
Ye Ning glanced in her direction.
Her look was dark and frigid.
Without responding, she continued to focus on the crowd.
It was Ye Ning.
She was supposed to be dead, wasn’t she?
Many from their side had attempted to kill her.
"How many of my n have you killed?"
The man at the forefront scoffed, "You’ll know when you join them in the afterlife."
On Ye Ning’s end, there was silence. As though she was a lifeless entity, her gaze didn’t waver from her targets.
Amidst the pouring rain, her glare was haunting, resembling the light from the abyss.
Ye Ning asked again, "How many?"
"Ha, you can count for yourself. How about you wait until these three are dead, too? That would make your counting task a little easier."
Hearing this, Rong Lihua scread out in horror,
"Ye Ning, you’ve gone too far. Do you really have to get us killed to be satisfied?"
Even Ye Zi was imploring to her, "Enough is enough, Ye Ning. We know you’re skilled in Kung Fu, but these people are lethal. Please stop endangering us."
Suspicion flickered in Ye Rongguang’s eyes, but watching Ye Ning’s steadfast stance, he knew sothing was amiss.
Her eyes were icy, their normally fluttering edges now frosted over, casting a gloomy chill.
Getting off the bike, Ye Ning took a step forward.
Instinctively, the crowd retreated a step back.
Ye Ning demanded, "Won’t talk, is that it?"
Rong Lihua, watching Ye Ning’s move, attempted to stand up and retort, "Enough is enough, Ye Ning! You’re such a fool to still be shouting and not begging for forgiveness. Why couldn’t you just confess how you upset them?"
It seed as though Ye Ning hadn’t heard her at all.
The crowd also glared at Ye Ning, "Hey, if you co any closer, we’ll yank out that stepmother’s tongue of yours first!"
The woman’s ranting had been annoying them greatly, raising their desire to silence her, once and for all.
Upon hearing this, Rong Lihua imdiately covered her mouth, her body shaking with protests. She glared at Ye Ning, fuming so much that she wished she could kill Ye Ning first.
Not only was Ye Ning a simpleton, but she was also dragging them all down with her. If she had known this, she wouldn’t have brought her from the countryside, or better would have had her killed years ago.
