Qian Guran: "Of course not!"

Gu Yunteng waved expressionlessly and said, "Then you can leave."

They were all sorcerers of the Qi Observation Sect. Even if Gu Yunteng wasn’t a Tier Three Zongheng Scholar, he could still perceive the mysterious changes in the aura between people.

It was these last few words that ultimately confird to Gu Yunteng that Qian Guran was lying to him. He was really disappointed.

After Qian Guran left, Gu Yunteng notified Zhao Hai Zhen. He didn’t ask where Zhao Hai Zhen was or what he was doing, just ntioned that Qian Guran had co to see him just now and for what reason.

Let Zhao Hai Zhen handle the dirty work. He didn’t need to know what happened to He Kao, just wait for a result.

He usually wouldn’t initiate contact for such matters, but by dawn, there was still no news from Zhao Hai Zhen.

There was a new social strata activity in the province that morning. He could have found an excuse not to attend, but he went anyway, appearing normal and without any anomaly in public, yet inside he felt increasingly uneasy.

In the afternoon, he returned to the office, instructing no one to disturb him while he waited for news. Eventually, he couldn’t resist contacting Zhao Hai Zhen himself, only to find he couldn’t reach him no matter what. He then tried contacting Old Hong, with the sa result.

By dinner ti, Gu Yunteng confird sothing very frightening—not only had Zhao Hai Zhen and Old Hong lost contact, but Zhao Hai Zhen’s group and Old Hong’s subordinates had all disappeared!

No one knew what happened last night, as if a magical hand had wiped them off the face of the earth...

The greatest anxiety of a person lies in the unknown of fate. The more uncertain, the more worriso one becos. At this mont, he received a call from Lin Qingshuang.

Lin Qingshuang said there was sothing important and they had to et imdiately, intensifying his unease.

The tis have changed, and so has his identity. Although Bada Group had many employees, few were like Old Hong, who had already disappeared with Zhao Hai Zhen yesterday.

Even if there were such people, they couldn’t be used against Lin Qingshuang. Regarding security and the legal team... they were of no use at the mont, so he had to personally et this elder sister.

First, he needed to figure out what was going on. If things were really bad, hopefully, the connections and favors he’d cultivated over the years would co into play.

As he nervously waited in his office, still trying various ways to reach Old Hong and Zhao Hai Zhen but to no avail... just then, he suddenly received so materials from Lin Qingshuang.

Lin Qingshuang, like He Kao, was still on the way, yet she sent over an electronic version of the materials. Gu Yunteng was shocked, quickly opened the file and scrutinized it. Initially, his brows were furrowed, but as he read on... he surprisingly began to relax.

He had long known of the existence of this material; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been so tense. Now that he finally saw the actual docunt, his biggest question was how it ended up in Lin Qingshuang’s hands?

It seed Lin Qingshuang either wanted to show goodwill by selling a favor or intended to use it as leverage for personal gain. But either way, as long as there were conditions to negotiate, it wasn’t the worst-case scenario.

Why did Gu Yunteng relax? Because the shoe had dropped. Only by knowing the specific contents of this material could he understand—if it leaked, how should he respond?

This material would indeed cause him trouble, but on close inspection, most of the information was outdated and hard to verify. Soone might try to use it to pressure him, and he might suffer significant losses, but it wouldn’t truly nail him.

He did all those things himself, how could he not know the inside story? Twenty years had passed, many involved had entered, and so were no longer alive. Many records were unverifiable, and it was beyond the legal statute of limitations.

So when he actually saw this material, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Lin Qingshuang didn’t drive herself here. She brought a driver, and after arriving at Yunteng Mansion, she instructed the driver to leave and wait for her call to pick her up later.

She went straight up to the top floor via Gu Yunteng’s private elevator. Gu Yunteng waited at the elevator entrance. The entire floor was brightly lit, but he was the only one there.

As soon as Lin Qingshuang stepped out of the elevator, Gu Yunteng quickly approached, bent over, extended both hands, and said warmly, "Sister Lin, I’m so grateful to you! To trouble you to co all this way for my issue."

Lin Qingshuang was a bit stunned and asked, "What are you thanking for?"

Gu Yunteng: "For that material, it’s been twenty years, and I didn’t expect to see it again. Thank you, elder sister, you’re the one who cares about the most, sending it directly to ... Let’s not stand here talking, co in and sit!"

He led Lin Qingshuang into a small eting room and personally made tea for her. Lin Qingshuang looked around and said, "Such a large floor, and you’re the only one here, isn’t that creepy?"

Gu Yunteng chuckled, "You sent such material and said there was sothing to discuss face-to-face. I couldn’t let anyone else be present; I had to serve you tea myself... May I ask how the material ended up in your possession?"

Lin Qingshuang got straight to the point: "It was given to by Qian Guran. I ca today to find soone from you. He handed your dirty laundry, then disappeared right after. I can’t help but suspect you!"

Gu Yunteng was shocked: "What, Qian Guran gave it to you and then vanished? And you’re actually here to find soone from !"

Lin Qingshuang: "First, answer one question. From what you just said, you should have known about the existence of this material for so ti. How did you know about it?"
