Back then, it was at this coffee shop that ng Ya t with Peng Xian and told him about the bizarre case of the "apple turning into an orange," which happened to be recorded by He Kao’s forgotten phone.
Today, ng Ya subconsciously sat in the sa spot, as turning her head would allow her to see the entrance, as if expecting Peng Xian to walk in at any mont and sit opposite her like before.
However, Peng Xian could never co again. Every ti soone entered the coffee shop, ng Ya would look up hopefully, unable to hide her disappointnt.
But when He Kao walked in, ng Ya had a keen intuition that he was the person she was supposed to et! She stood up instinctively, her hand on the table, opening her mouth to greet him, yet afraid of making a mistake.
Instead, it was He Kao who nodded and greeted her: "ng Ya, right... Sit over here!"
This was their first eting, with a very subtle detail: He Kao did not sit opposite ng Ya, where Peng Xian once sat, but instead went to the adjacent booth, signaling ng Ya to move over.
The place He Kao chose was back-to-back with the seat where Peng Xian had last sat, the sa seat where he had left his phone. It was as if ti had traversed, ng Ya seed to move from Peng Xian’s presence to He Kao’s presence.
"Who are you, do you really know about Peng Xian?" ng Ya couldn’t wait to ask before she even sat down.
He Kao replied calmly: "I know you’re anxious, but please don’t rush. Before we talk about Peng Xian, I also need to clarify your identity; there are things that need confirmation from you."
ng Ya asked, "What do you want to confirm?"
He Kao scanned the code to order two glasses of lemonade. The server quickly brought them over, greeting him, and upon leaving, took another curious glance at ng Ya, clearly misunderstanding sothing.
The server tonight was He Kao’s junior, Xiaomiao, not from the Magic Sect, but a classmate a year behind him in graduate school.
He Kao had once worked at this coffee shop, and later Xiaomiao did part-ti work here as well. However, Junior Sister Miao probably wouldn’t work here much longer, as her thesis was completed, and she would soon defend it.
He Kao pushed the lemonade over, looking up to scrutinize ng Ya carefully.
This girl appeared sowhat haggard, without makeup, with her hair simply tied in a ponytail, the strands by her forehead a bit ssy, and faint blood threads in her eyes, clearly showing signs of stress and lack of rest.
She wore a light blue jacket, with a dark green sweater underneath that looked very stretchy. She wasn’t tall, and she wasn’t fat either, just with a slightly exaggerated body proportion, making her waist appear slimr in contrast.
She looked a bit younger than her actual age, with a hint of baby fat on her face.
This should be the type Xiaopang likes! Xiaopang’s favorite to draw are two-dinsional pretty girls, and if they were transford into three-dinsional reality, they’d probably look similar to her... For so reason, He Kao suddenly had this thought.
ng Ya was inexplicably flustered by He Kao’s scrutinizing gaze, and she couldn’t help but lower her head, suddenly hearing He Kao ask, "With intention controlling the mind, a disturbed heart finds peace difficult. What’s the next line?"
ng Ya’s eyes brightened, she quickly raised her head and said, "With the body controlling the heart, harmony leads the mind to see peace."

ng Ya imdiately replied, "A quiet room births clarity, for I observe the body." Then she cautiously, with a voice carrying excitent and anticipation, asked, "Are you the Sorcerer of the Observing Body Sect, specifically here to find ?"
He Kao did not answer, instead launching into a long recitation, speaking as if from mory, before finally asking, "What was that passage I just recited?"
ng Ya’s chest heaved as she tried to suppress her excitent, "It’s the technique of the Observing Body Skill, the one Peng Xian taught !"
No wonder she was excited; she instinctively thought that it was the Sorcerer from the Observing Body Sect coming to investigate and confirm her learning of the technique with Peng Xian. The earlier words appeared to be the perfect signal for identification.
It all matched, it was one of their own!
He Kao still expressionlessly asked, "How did you et Peng Xian, how did you obtain the technique, what did Peng Xian tell you, and what did he have you do afterward... please tell truthfully, otherwise, I cannot help you."
ng Ya couldn’t help but ask another question: "Do you know where Peng Xian went, how is he now?"
He Kao: "A lot has happened recently in the Magic Sect, all very important matters, and Peng Xian is sowhat related to them. But I can only tell you after confirming your situation."
Peng Xian had solemnly reminded ng Ya that a Sorcerer must act secretly, never revealing their identity or relevant information to anyone outside the Magic Sect.
But He Kao’s previous words had dismantled this barrier, now it’s ng Ya who had to gain his trust as much as possible.
