After retiring, Mrs. Chen was rehired and often went back to work at the tax office. She bought Xiaopang a car, but she didn’t drive, couldn’t drive, and often rode an electric scooter when going out since the places she needed to go weren’t far.

In the suburbs of Qi Yuan City, many people ride electric scooters, including many older folks, which is considered a local feature.

That day, Mrs. Chen took so ti at noon to go to the farrs’ market, but she accidentally rode her electric scooter into a roadside drainage ditch, crashing hard and getting a bloody head wound, looking quite frightening. She was dazed and couldn’t get up for quite a while.

She was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance. He Kao was on duty in Jiangbei that day and rushed over imdiately. Xiaopang, upon hearing the news at work, was almost scared to tears and drove straight to Jiangbei without having ti to ask for leave.

By the ti Xiaopang arrived, He Kao had already taken Mrs. Chen ho. She had just scratched her skin a bit, bled a lot but wasn’t seriously hurt, and had all possible checks done at the local hospital as well...

Qian Guran also heard about this incident but didn’t pay much attention at the ti, as it was just a simple accident with no serious consequences.

But just now, he heard that Xiaomiao’s father had a nearly identical accident out of town, and anyone with a bit of sense could link these two incidents... These two accidents were likely orchestrated by soone!

Her father had an accident and was taken to the hospital by ergency vehicle. The situation was unclear for a while, and Xiaomiao, hearing the news, was undoubtedly anxious to rush back imdiately... If she were the Hidden Moth, what would she do?

Would she honestly go to the train station, wait for a schedule, then sit on the high-speed train for several hours, and then catch a cab to the hospital? She’d definitely find a place where no one was watching and teleport directly back to her hotown city.

As long as we keep an eye on Xiaomiao, watch when she shows up at the hospital, and estimate how long it took her to get there, we can tell if she used the Hidden Moth’s abilities.

There’s been chaos in Qi Yuan for quite so ti, enough for those with intentions to investigate He Kao’s social ties, and they inevitably might investigate Huang Xiaopang as well.

It’s not that anyone discovered Huang Xiaopang’s identity, but since Huang Xiaopang has had a good relationship with He Kao from childhood—classmates, neighbors, and now colleagues—it follows the principle of rather catching wrongfully than letting go, Xiaopang likely can’t escape such an investigation.

Given the traffic conditions that day, even if Huang Xiaopang speeded all the way, it would still take about two hours to reach Jiangbei Hospital. If he got there in just a few minutes, it would surely expose his identity.

Fortunately, He Kao had already arrived at the hospital and inford Xiaopang promptly that Mrs. Chen was fine, so Xiaopang didn’t need to rush excessively and returned ho in a normal manner.

That’s Qian Guran’s conjecture because he still believes Xiaopang is the Hidden Moth, yet he hasn’t told anyone, not even Yao Shaolan, nor ntioned it in front of He Kao.

He Kao will know what he needs to know; not revealing it is to prevent eavesdroppers.

Qian Guran has experienced Xiaopang, the Hidden Moth’s temper before, and if you provoke him, he would indeed go on a rampage. If Xiaopang finds out that his mother’s accident last month was man-made, who knows what would happen!

Seeing the overturned teacup on the table, Qian Guran realized he had lost his composure. He couldn’t reveal Xiaopang’s identity and had to explain, "These people are so vicious! They actually target the relatives of innocents, creating accidents to find out the Hidden Moth’s identity.

They think their thods are covert, but if the Hidden Moth sees through them, what reaction do you think the Hidden Moth will have? How did Liang Kai disappear back then, with that loud bang that shook the whole building!"

Yao Shaolan also frowned and said, "Yeah, using such ans to deal with Xiaomiao, to deal with Xiaopang, just to test if they are the Hidden Moth—how is this any different from dealing with the Hidden Moth itself?"

Qian Guran’s face darkened, "This is still a chain trick; as long as they find the right person and test out the Hidden Moth’s identity, they can then threaten the Hidden Moth accordingly."

Yao Shaolan: "It’s hard to defend against! We’ve only been focusing on Xiaomiao these days, who would have thought they’d target her father out of town."

Qian Guran: "There’s no such thing as guarding against thieves for a thousand days, which is why I chose to take the initiative, telling those people their actions are already exposed—they either stop on their own or die!"

Yao Shaolan: "Stopping on their own gives them a chance to live, but they need to erase traces..." She suddenly gasped, looking up, "What about Yang Lingxi?"

Qian Guran retorted, "What do you think?"

If Yang Lingxi is not yet exposed, or the people behind the scenes don’t know she’s exposed, she still has a chance to retreat gracefully or continue to lurk.

But if they know she’s exposed, either they will silence her or arrange for her to vanish, hiding her identity once and for all. Given the sinister thods of those behind the scenes, the forr is probably more likely.

Yao Shaolan pondered, "Old Qian, you must watch out for one thing. If they want to silence her, they might leave sothing incriminating at Yang Lingxi’s place, things detrintal to you or He Kao.

For example, they could stage the scene to look like a suicide, then leave a diary on a private computer, claiming she experienced sothing at work that was unspeakable, unbearable, either done by you or He Kao, or both of you involved.

Then she wouldn’t be able to speak anymore, and you guys would be done for; everyone would think you drove her to death!"

Qian Guran gritted his teeth, "I’ve already thought about that; this ti we must watch closely, and as long as they act, they’ll show a flaw and leave a clue. Once there’s a clue, I’ll notify the Ancestral Hall directly!"

Yao Shaolan: "No wonder you look so confident, I thought it was arrogance after a promotion, but it turns out you’re working for the Ancestral Hall."

Qian Guran: "When I was lying in the hospital, there were two Elders from the Ancestral Hall who ca to protect . Do you think they ca for nothing? After I woke up, shouldn’t I voluntarily do sothing for the Ancestral Hall?

A few days ago, the Second Elder asked the sa question over the phone.

The Ancestral Hall has long wanted to clean up the Magic Sect, but they can’t act recklessly. They need sothing to hold onto if they want to kill the chicken to scare the monkey!"

Yao Shaolan: "So Yang Lingxi is your bait, and you’re just waiting for them to commit murder and silence her?"

Qian Guran lightly shook his head: "It’s not that I want her to be the bait. I gave her other options. It’s up to her to choose, but I suspect... sigh!"

He stopped short, eventually just letting out a sigh.

Yao Shaolan asked again: "So you figured it out long ago, but you specifically chose He Kao’s ti abroad to act, just to prove to everyone that he has nothing to do with it?"

Qian Guran sighed again: "Emotional debt is the hardest to repay. Let’s not talk about the golden paperweight, how did Gu Yunteng die? At that ti, I was lying in the hospital, so it had nothing to do with either!"

...

Far away in Sawa Country, He Kao was riding on an elephant, holding his phone as if taking pictures, but his face looked grim. He had just learned that Xiaomiao rushed back to her hotown urgently yesterday because her father had a minor accident.

Fortunately, nothing happened to him, it was just a false alarm, and Xiaomiao already returned today.

Faced with the sudden situation yesterday, Xiaomiao didn’t contact He Kao much, only ntioned it briefly. Today, when everything was okay, she finally had ti to respond to He Kao’s ssages, kind of letting him know she was safe.

He Kao had undergone so changes recently. First, he expressed gratitude to Xiaomiao for the events of that night, and then they started connecting more than before. He would often initiate conversations with her, caring about various matters in her life.

This surprised Xiaomiao and made her a bit secretly joyful. She wondered to herself: Is He Kao trying to date ? If he has this intention, why didn’t he act sooner, why wait until now to try?

Oh, back in school, maybe it was due to poor family conditions, He Kao felt inferior, so he didn’t dare to actively pursue girls. But now, I hear the situation has changed... Hmm, his courage has grown.

Heh, n!

Regardless of Xiaomiao’s wild thoughts, He Kao’s mood had dropped to freezing point. Last month, Mrs. Chen fell off her electric bike, and he was the first to rush to the hospital. Fortunately, she was okay, and he didn’t suspect much at the ti.

Without any evidence, if one were to be overly suspicious of everything, life would be unbearable.

That day, listening to Old Qian’s analysis, from Yang Lingxi’s perspective, the truly suspicious person that night was Xiaomiao. The other party might try to test and investigate Xiaomiao.

He Kao wasn’t too worried initially, on one hand, Old Qian promised to keep an eye on things, on the other hand, Xiaomiao was certainly not the Hidden Moth; the other party would find no clues.

But hearing about this incident, He Kao imdiately recalled Mrs. Chen’s experience last month... even the best-tempered person would now have a hint of murderous intent!

The elephant stopped at this point, with the riding experience over, and the next stop was a trip to the shooting entertainnt hall. Just then, he received another ssage from Qian Guran.

Qian Guran ntioned Xiaomiao’s father’s incident because he knew it couldn’t be hidden from He Kao. He also knew He Kao would definitely associate it with Xiaopang’s mother’s accident.

Old Qian simply advised He Kao not to tell anyone about the incident for now.

The aning was cryptic, understood only by He Kao. The "others" referred to Huang Xiaopang. Since Huang Si wasn’t familiar with Xiaomiao, as long as He Kao didn’t ntion it, Huang Si couldn’t possibly find out.

Qian Guran was worried that Huang Si might react with fury, leading to unpredictable consequences, and possibly exposing his Hidden Moth identity.

Old Qian didn’t know that the current Hidden Moth had been replaced with He Kao, and even if those people received warnings to stop, He Kao couldn’t agree to it—it’s simply too convenient!

In the afternoon, He Kao felt a bit of heatstroke; President E arranged for the guide to find a car to take him back to the hotel to rest, and he didn’t continue participating in the evening’s group activities.

Similarly, that afternoon, after finishing lunch and starting her shift, Yang Lingxi suddenly announced her resignation, shocking her colleagues, who all asked why?

Yang Lingxi didn’t explain much, she just said sothing urgent had co up, and she needed to return ho quickly, where arrangents for a job were already made...

Since she was still in the probationary period, she could leave at any ti, but she didn’t even process the paperwork. She just inford her departnt head, simply packed her things, and hastily left the company, which seed quite abnormal.
