He Kao discovered that the leopard was exceptionally agile, with a neural reaction speed almost comparable to that of a Cultivator at Tier Two Perfection. Even He Kao dared not approach it for teasing.
As for the tiger, it was, of course, fiercer than the leopard, and it could climb trees. However, due to size and weight constraints, there were so trees it couldn’t climb and so places it couldn’t reach.
In such an environnt, He Kao also conducted so test projects, like whether the Invisibility Ability would be limited when watched by wild animals? The answer was that in so situations, it would indeed be limited!
What further testing was needed to clarify when this would happen?
The preliminary answer seed to be when the opponent could recognize him as an active entity and distinguish him from the environnt as an object, maintaining a state of perception.
So animals could achieve this, while others could not, and even within the sa species, so could do it while others could not.
So, in cases where it was possible, how did the other party perceive him?
First was vision; so animals could lock onto him just by watching, unless he shifted to a place that blocked their sight promptly.
As for hearing, the locking effect wasn’t as evident unless he continually made noises. If he stayed still and made only faint sounds, in most cases, the hearing lock would fail.
Most notably was the sense of sll. He Kao discovered that several types of animals could use sll to lock onto him, which was simply astonishing! However, after studying the Sensory Communication Technique, he could understand why.
For instance, even before entry-level training, he could sense spatial structures through hearing. When he broke through to Tier Three, he could form a spatial scene in his mind upon detecting distinct scent signals under certain circumstances.
For humans, this was a Magical Technique and Divine Technique, but so animals might innately possess this ability.
He Kao also found that as long as he didn’t deliberately provoke those animals, forcing them to perceive him, generally, he wouldn’t be noticed, and the Invisibility Ability remained unrestricted.
Thus, He Kao resolved a perplexing question.
Why in docuntaries had he seen herds of antelope in the grasslands ignore resting lions nearby, only to flee in panic when the lions stealthily approached and suddenly attacked?
He Kao acted like a philosopher, contemplating concepts of self and other, subject and object, consciousness and existence... and like an experintal scientist, testing the reactions of silly deer and clumsy bears.
Testing when he would be perceived was also equivalent to testing under what conditions he could avoid being locked onto. Hence, he also tested the effect of the Stealth Skill... deploying the Stealth Skill greatly reduced the likelihood of being perceived.
During his travels, He Kao began refining a new Magical Treasure. The so-called refining was preliminary, involving communicating with it through Divine Sense and understanding its spirituality, starting with the Hidden Moth Gauze, which resembled a blindfold.
He put it on his head and maintained a unified state with his Divine Sense, significantly reducing the chance of being detected. However, this marvel worked against tigers and leopards in the wild, but had little effect on people unless they couldn’t see him!
Why was that? Because wearing such a black blindfold, it was pure eye-catching, and anyone who saw it would find it strange and couldn’t help but notice! Its side effects far outweighed the effectiveness of the stealth function.
It seed that to fully utilize the true marvel of the Hidden Moth Gauze, he’d have to wait until breaking through Tier Four and mastering Artifact.
The thick snow hindered his Divine Sense and made discovering plant roots in the frozen ground even more difficult, during which he initially grasped the marvel of the Earth Spirit Banner, which happened to offer significant help under such conditions.
The Array Artifact of the Spirit Lock Array consisted of four small banners in red, yellow, blue, and black, which He Kao, with his current Cultivation level, couldn’t use, not even comprehending the Array was still short of Fire.
Among them, the yellow banner was called the Earth Spirit Banner. Two Elders told him that he could use this item independently, though how to use it specifically required his own pondering.
After studying the Hidden Moth Gauze, He Kao took out the Earth Spirit Banner and indeed found so key insights. The specific refining thod was to extend Divine Sense, treat it as a part of himself, and then perceive its "functions."
He Kao discovered that through the activation of the Spirit Lock Banner, his Divine Sense could extend further, sensing more things, like the paths of earth veins and the Earth Qi Spirit Core - they were like the ridians and acupuncture points of mountains and rivers.
A person’s ridians and acupuncture points are invisible and can’t be discovered even through dissection, yet they can be felt because they are the trajectories and nodes of Divine Qi operation.
The hallmark of entry into the Observing Body Skill is "introspection," which allows not only introspection of the internal organs, muscles, bones, and flesh but also detecting the state of one’s ridian operation.
If the structure of the human body is likened to mountains and rivers, one can understand He Kao’s insights when using the Earth Spirit Banner.
Discovering this state, entering this state, and maintaining this state, He Kao gained new insights, surprisingly finding the feeling of cultivating the Earth Formation Skill.
In daily activities, He Kao mostly cultivated the Stealth Skill, the exclusive Technique of the Hidden Moth Sect, which also ant it was easily noticed by experts.
But no one else had likely seen the Hidden Moth Sect’s Techniques, so the best way to disguise his identity was to let people mistakenly think it was another Technique.
The Heart Plate Sect’s Earth-Traveling Skill, in its effect, looks similar to the Stealth Skill. There were rumors in the Jianghu that he was a Secret Disciple of a certain Elder, either Elder Jiang or Elder Gu, so he could also utilize people’s speculation.
