Now reading: Chapter 66: Encountering Li Mo Again from High Martial Arts: Enlightenment after Practices, a Eastern novel by Nothing But Effort.

In the afternoon, Xu Wuyi connected his consciousness and entered the Star Martial Battle Network.

He didn’t delay, imdiately opening the [Rank Battle] matchmaking system.

In the pure white starting space, Xu Wuyi’s usual weapon choice, the long spear, was already preset.

[Matching you with a Rank Battle opponent... Match successful!]

[Transporting to Asura Field, Arena #11936.]

Light and shadow flowed, and a grim stone arena materialized beneath his feet.

Endless, dark void surrounded them. Just as Xu Wuyi’s virtual avatar stabilized, an exceptionally burly and imposing figure rapidly solidified across from him.

The man was absurdly tall, with a buzz cut and an aggressive smile on his face. In his hand, he held what looked to be an incredibly heavy Ghost Head Saber.

When he saw the opponent’s face clearly, Xu Wuyi was slightly startled.

The system’s scan information appeared before his eyes:

[Opponent ID: Li Mo]

[Life Energy Level: 13.2]

[Weapon Used: Thick-Backed Ghost Head Saber]

[Current Rank: Second Rank, 92 Points]

It was Li Mo from the United Middle School!

During the joint exam, his Life Energy Level was 12.7. He had clearly improved since then.

An increase of 0.5 levels in just over a month—his pace was no slower than Zeng Bonan’s or the others’.

Considering his higher base level, the actual difficulty of improving was even greater. It showed that Li Mo was truly gifted in this area.

"Hahaha! Xu Wuyi!"

When Li Mo saw Xu Wuyi’s ID, a look of imnse, pleasant surprise erupted on his face. His laughter was thunderous, making the very air vibrate.

"I finally caught you on the Battle Network! I’ve been itching for a fight ever since we missed each other at the joint exam. Today, I’m going to teach you a proper lesson—"

Halfway through his sentence, he subconsciously glanced at the system notification, his eyes falling on the column representing Xu Wuyi’s Life Energy Level.

His boastful words caught in his throat, coming to an abrupt halt.

Li Mo’s large, bell-like eyes stared fixedly at the system information display—

[Life Energy Level: 13.0].

13.0?!

The smile on Li Mo’s face froze. His mouth hung slightly open, as if he had seen sothing utterly unbelievable.

He subconsciously rubbed his eyes and looked again.

That’s right, it was 13.0!

"Fuck!!"

A curse exploded from Li Mo’s mouth. His arrogant deanor vanished without a trace, replaced by sheer shock and disbelief.

"You... you’re... Level 13?! It’s only been a little over a month?!"

He rembered it clearly. During the joint exam evaluation in early March, Xu Wuyi’s Life Energy Level was only 11.6!

In a month and a half at most, he had skyrocketed 1.4 Energy Levels, jumping straight from 11.6 to 13.0?!

’Is he even fucking human?!’

Li Mo looked at his own 13.2 Energy Level, then at the sowhat amused look in Xu Wuyi’s eyes across from him. An uncontrollable sense of absurdity welled up from the bottom of his heart.

’I thought I had improved rapidly and could finally get my revenge, but I never expected this...’

’Just how does this kid train?’

Xu Wuyi watched Li Mo’s dumbfounded expression and chuckled inwardly, but his face remained composed.

He slowly raised his hand. A virtual long spear materialized, its tip pointing diagonally toward the ground as he assud his most familiar stance: the [Army Stabilization Form].

The transformation brought about by a month of hellish training needed a real battle to be tested.

The system’s cold notification tone broke the silence:

[Battle Start!]

Li Mo’s astonishnt lasted only for a mont.

His combat instincts, honed through years of Refinent, allowed him to quickly suppress the shock in his heart.

’Who cares how Xu Wuyi trained to get here! Right now, we’re in a Battle Network arena, and winning is the only goal!’

"So what if you’re Level 13! Die!"

Li Mo let out a furious roar, cast aside all distracting thoughts, and stomped down hard. His heavy Ghost Head Saber whistled through the air in a vicious, unadorned chop aid straight at Xu Wuyi’s head!

It was the sa familiar, brutish, and domineering style, attempting to crush his opponent with absolute power.

Had this been the Xu Wuyi from the joint exam, his best option against this slash would have been to evade it and use the Silk Binding Force of his Wind-Settling Spear to deflect the force and find an opening.

But this ti, Xu Wuyi’s eyes were sharp. He didn’t dodge or evade!

He took half a step forward with his right foot, twisted his waist, and thrust his spear. It was an impossibly precise strike aid at the spine of the Ghost Head Saber’s blade!

CLANG—!

A piercing shriek of tal on tal exploded as sparks flew.

An imnse force traveled up the spear shaft. Xu Wuyi’s arm muscles bulged, and his body swayed slightly before he stood his ground firmly.

His feet were like roots, completely unmoved!

Li Mo’s pupils contracted sharply. He felt as if his slash hadn’t struck a person, but rather a steel ingot that had been forged a thousand tis!

The rebounding force even made his wrist go slightly numb.

’His strength...’

Li Mo was in disbelief.

Xu Wuyi didn’t speak. His answer was a sudden, explosive counterattack!

The spear retracted the instant it made contact, then transford into a sky full of afterimages. It was no longer the steady, defensive style from before, but an offensive tempest that actively enveloped Li Mo, aiming for his vital points!

"Bring it!" Though startled, Li Mo wasn’t flustered. He roared and swung his saber to et the attack.

He refused to believe he would lose in a contest of strength to a guy who had just caught up to him!

For a mont, the flashes of saber and spear clashed violently on the arena, the clamor of their collision ringing out endlessly.

Both had abandoned most of their feints and evasions, engaging in the most ferocious and pure exchange of blows!

However, the more they clashed head-on, the colder Li Mo’s heart grew.

Xu Wuyi’s strength and speed were actually on par with his!

The force contained within that spear was incredibly heavy; every collision made his Qi and Blood roil.

But what made Li Mo feel the most helpless was the gap in their Martial Arts.

His Saber Technique was wide and open, fierce and unparalleled, but its variations were relatively simple. It relied more on crushing opponents with his superior physical attributes.

Xu Wuyi’s Spear Technique, however, maintained its fluidity and precision even in the midst of this frenzied exchange.

Every ti Li Mo’s blade seed about to strike Xu Wuyi, it would be casually deflected at the last mont, at best only managing to slice through his combat suit and leave a shallow bloody scratch.

But Xu Wuyi’s spear could always find the openings in his attacks with pinpoint accuracy, thrusting in like lightning!

PFFT!

The spear tip plunged into Li Mo’s left shoulder, taking with it a spray of data-simulated blood.

SCHLICK!

The spear swept back, its blade opening a gash on his ribs so deep the bone was visible.

In just two minutes of high-intensity combat, four or five translucent holes had appeared on Li Mo’s body.

He was drenched in blood, and his movents had beco noticeably sluggish due to his injuries.

In contrast, Xu Wuyi only had a few insignificant scratches. Even his breathing was exceptionally steady, making it seem as if he wasn’t exerting himself at all.

The difference in their skill was starkly clear!

"Bastard!" Li Mo’s eyes were bloodshot. He knew that if this continued, his defeat was certain.

’I’ll risk it all!’

A ruthless glint flashed in Li Mo’s eyes. Completely ignoring the spear thrusting toward his chest, he poured all the Qi and Blood in his body into his arms.

The Ghost Head Saber let out a dull hum, and its blade even began to faintly glow with a pale red, bloody light!

"Overlapping Waves, Mountain-Breaking Slash!"

This was his trump card, a finishing move that condensed all his Qi and Blood into a single strike, aiming to decide the battle with one slash!

The saber’s montum was brutal and unstoppable!
