"It’s alright."

Although interrupted by the young Mouse People, Mr. Milly still appeared very magnanimous. He casually waved his hand and said with a smile, "It’s just that the gentlen in the bureau don’t believe what you say, so..."

As he spoke, he took out a small glass bottle containing a transparent liquid from his pocket and placed it on the counter in front of Dangdang Ears, continuing to smile amicably.

The young Mouse People were still a bit confused, but Fox Five’s face turned sowhat unpleasant.

He could easily judge from the symbols on the bottle that it contained Truth Serum, a ans used by the Trident Sword for interrogating prisoners. It wasn’t illegal, but using it on an ordinary wizard was a bit excessive.

"Believe?"

An exaggerated voice suddenly sounded, breaking the silence of the small shop. The black-robed figures and clerks all looked toward where the voice ca from.

At the entrance of D&K, in the patches of light falling on the ground through the window, sat a plump Yellow Flowered Cat. It was holding a small yellow fish in its arms, savoring it while sneering at the black-robed wizards.

"Heh, believe?!"

The Flower Cat stuffed the last piece of dried fish into its mouth, patted its paws, and repeated the word while chewing: "We all believe that the rich should pay more taxes, that the stars should obediently stay in the sky... But in fact, the taxes paid by the rich are getting less and stars fall to the ground more often... This ans that belief doesn’t represent fact."

This is sophistry!

Fox Five struggled to control his urge to retort.

"Where did this stray cat co from!" Behind Mr. Milly, a young mber of the Trident Sword flared up in anger, drawing out a Law book, seemingly intending to throw the Yellow Flowered Cat out of the shop.

But imdiately, he was abruptly stopped by Mr. Milly, the team leader.

"Shut up!"

A green light shot out from the Law book under Mr. Milly’s arm, plastering onto the face of the talkative Trident Sword mber, silencing him temporarily.

Then, only did the team leader in black robe look at the Yellow Flowered Cat cautiously: "Hello, we are executing Mage Alliance duties. This is our work ID... If you have any issues, you can file a complaint with the Alliance."

The Yellow Flowered Cat squinted its eyes, glanced at the ID card hovering above its nose, then raised its head, looking at the black-robed team leader in surprise:

"So polite... Do you know ?"

Mr. Milly shook his head resolutely—though he didn’t recognize it, a talking cat, even in the Wizard World, was extrely rare, deserving cautious interactions, especially appearing at such a sensitive ti, in such a sensitive place, ddling in such a sensitive matter.

Might this cat be so bigwig in the Alliance transford to roam the world.

This assumption, though not entirely correct, was close enough.

The Flower Cat curled its mouth: "Rare... It’s a smart one... Go back and tell that brat ’Noodles’, the Rat Immortal wants to hide, and there’s no way he’ll let a few of his little mice under him know, even if you dig their brains out, you won’t find anything useful. No need to feed them the Truth Serum."

The faces of the black-robed figures grew increasingly grim, but their expressions also grew increasingly vigilant.

Because the ’Noodles’ ntioned by the Flower Cat was the nickna of Trident Bureau Chief Robert Nud, ever since he beca the head of this violent organization within the Alliance, there were very few wizards in the Magic World who dared to call him that, yet this Flower Cat blatantly called out in full view of everyone, either entirely ignorant or utterly fearless.

A talking cat is unlikely to be entirely ignorant.

As for being utterly fearless, whether this cat had mana so strong it could disregard the Trident Bureau Chief, or the forces behind it could completely ignore the Trident Sword, either way, it wasn’t soone these black-robed individuals could afford to provoke.

A few seconds of silence.

Dangdang Ears was the first to break the increasingly oppressive atmosphere in the shop.

"This," he pointed carefully at the glass bottle containing the transparent liquid in front of him, "do I have to drink it?"

This was one dumb mouse who still hadn’t figured out what was happening.

Mr. Milly pondered for a mont and with a swipe of his hand, the bottle on the countertop disappeared. In its place was an open notebook with a white Feather Pen resting on it.

Mr. Milly maintained a gentle smile and steadily said, "Although it’s a bit cumberso, rules are rules, procedures are procedures... So, I must trouble you to cooperate a bit more."

Dangdang Ears nodded blankly.

On the notebook, the white Feather Pen imdiately sprang into action like a Latin dancer, spreading its feathers and leaving a string of elegant script on the page.

anwhile, Mr. Milly’s questions sounded tily:

"Na?"

"Din..." The young Mouse People hesitated for a second after opening his mouth, then slowly replied: "Dangdang Ears."

A blue light flickered across the feathers of the pen, dancing even more joyously upon the paper. Satisfied, Mr. Milly nodded, looking even more amiable:

"Gender?"

"Male... Masculine?" Dangdang Ears was still not quite used to his new identity, but it was clear he was making an effort to progress: "Uh, male!"

The Feather Pen flashed with blue light once more. Mr. Milly then accelerated his questions, asking about age, address, ti working at D&K, position held, how long the Ears Brothers left the Mouse Clan in the Underground World, why they didn’t participate in the Black Prison War, their views on the Rat Immortal, and more.

The questions clearly exceeded Dangdang Ears’ initial expectations, leaving him dizzy and his eyes blank, his tail limply hanging to the ground, devoid of any vitality.

Then, Mr. Milly unexpectedly asked the very questions he had already asked Dangdang Ears multiple tis:

"Do you know where the Rat Immortal is now?"

"I don’t know." Dangdang Ears answered honestly, his tail drooping.

"Is the Rat Immortal still on Buji Island?"

"I’m not sure, really."

"How many laboratories does the Rat Immortal have in the Silent Forest? Have you been there? Do you rember where those labs are located?"

"I have, but I don’t rember... I’ve said it many tis, every ti we went, the ancestor led us through his created Rat Road, it was pitch black all the way, how could I possibly know where those places were!"

"Have you t other transford Mouse People? Are you in contact with them?"

"Haven’t t, and no contact..."

The Yellow Flowered Cat’s lips twitched, revealing a silent mockery. The most significant thing for the Rat Immortal now was to achieve legend, for this even entrusting his daughter to be guarded by the school, yet Alliance’s old folks were frantic, why would they think these two newly transford Mouse People could know His whereabouts?
