Chapter 1854: Chapter 75: The Shaman’s Curse

Seeing Zheng Qing give the order, Zhang Ji Xin, who was already itching for action, shot forward like a cannonball, kicking up a cloud of dirt underfoot as he charged into the bluish-white mist outside the camp.

The Blue Giant followed behind, striding through the shattered gate, thrusting his hands into the smoke; with a mighty grab and tear, blood burst forth like a torrential downpour, instantly dying a large patch of mist, revealing that he had already torn apart an ogre bound by vines.

The attack was so successful that Zheng Qing wondered if the two-headed ogre was overrated, contemplating whether to let the little witch in the hunting team take over the binding spell while he joined the battle to gain so achievents himself.

Thinking this, he involuntarily glanced sideways in the direction of Li ng.

He saw the little witch holding the law book, standing slightly behind Jiang Yu, watching the bluish-white mist outside the camp with keen interest, unfazed by the gore, and even showing an eager expression. If it weren’t for the pre-battle orders to keep her in line, Zheng Qing would bet that the little witch would already be standing on the one-ter-high rounded mound behind her, cheering wildly for the Absolution Hunting Team.

With a faint smile, the young funded student withdrew his gaze… Wait, wasn’t this camp flattened before, and later blasted by ogres? How could there be a rounded little mound?

At the last mont of retracting his gaze, Zheng Qing suddenly turned back, looking behind Li ng.

But it was too late. The little mound behind the little witch rose and fell gently like a breathing living creature, and just as the warlock turned his head, the mound shattered with a boom, revealing a giant azure-gray claw directly reaching for Li ng’s nape.

The other five hunters of the Absolution Hunting Team, Zhang Ji Xin and Xin, were outside the camp, entangled in battle with the ogre hunters within the mist; inside the camp, Zheng Qing and two others maintained their individual binding spells to assist the fight outside — even Jiang Yu, closest to Li ng, was holding the law book, intensely focused on the commotion outside, entirely unaware of the change behind him.

Bang!

The anti-evil charms hanging from the little witch’s waist all shattered simultaneously, forming a weak yet clear protective shield in a burst of magical power, trying to block the azure-gray giant claw.

“Zap!”

A familiar yet sinister voice ca from under the shattered mound, a cold gleam flashed at the tip of the azure-gray claw, and the magical shield ford by the shattered anti-evil charms silently burst like a soap bubble pricked by a needle.

It was the voice of that two-headed ogre!

Zheng Qing’s eyes blazed with fury, finally realizing his mistake, roaring in anger, he directly tossed away the law book — there was no ti to cast a new spell.

The azure-gray giant claw seed almost to touch Li ng’s nape; Zheng Qing could almost see the little witch’s neck hairs bristle abruptly.

Then her eyes rolled back, and she collapsed forward, fainting without hesitation.

This reflex action evidently caught the two-headed ogre off guard; the azure-gray giant claw hesitated for half a second, realizing it had grabbed nothing, yet without wavering, its knucklebones swelled, continuing to reach down without hesitation.

However, with this precious half a second, it ultimately couldn’t proceed as smoothly as initially anticipated. After dropping the law book, Zheng Qing swiftly brushed and swayed a stack of pale yellow talisman papers like a large net, scattering them towards the ogre that just erged between the little mounds.

“Freeze!”

The young funded student ford spells with his hands, loudly commanding. Dozens of talisman papers ignited in mid-air, binding spell, anti-evil spell, chaos spell, soft leg curse, even calming incantation, ssage spell, and more, a barrage of spells rained down on the two-headed ogre, spell lights splattering in all directions, lighting up the camp magnificently.

The two-headed ogre, just climbing out of the mound, squinted its eyes as if giving a cold smile, doing nothing yet seeing five tumors of varying sizes under its chin and at the back of its skull simultaneously glow red.

“Zap! (Shatter)”

“Hex! (Demon Art)”

“Devolve! (Decay)”

“Lighting Storm! (Thunder)”

“Earthen Might! (Power of the Earth)”

Five indistinct chaotic yet clear curses echoed within those rising red lights, the two-headed ogre grinned maliciously, revealing, “ORGE!①”

So this is the ogre shaman’s magic?

The thought flashed across Zheng Qing’s mind as he watched five different colored curse lights fly out from those tumors.

One fell between the ruins of the mound beneath the ogre’s feet, an ochre halo surged, within monts forming a towering, shadowy earth elental puppet, striding forward, swinging its enormous fists, smashing down at the young wizards.

Another intercepted before the talisman net, the gray-white decay aura brushed past, causing the once imposing spells to wilt like eggplants hit by frost, their glow dimming considerably.

Following close behind was the streaking curse light, like a shuttle weaving in and out, piercing and shattering those dimd talisman papers.

Moreover, a light green curse light streaked past Zheng Qing, hitting Xiao Xiao, the fastest to react behind the warlock — he had already raised his Crystal Ball, ready to throw it — the green curse light landed on Doctor Xiao, flickering as Xiao Xiao vanished, replaced by a glassy-eyed, palm-sized frog.

While Zheng Qing was in a state of shock and anger, Jiang Yu’s urgent voice ca to his ears:

“Restricting South Mountain, Maintaining Rock-like Firmness!”

The ochre rock mountain reappeared in the camp. Perhaps due to the rush or incomplete spell effects, compared to before, this ti the rock mountain seed especially small, just enough to shield the unconscious Li ng, sparing her from the fate of being crushed to pulp by the earth elental puppet’s punch.

Zheng Qing took a light breath, forcing himself to calm down, glancing up at the ever-thickening gloomy clouds accumulating in the sky, and the chain-like silvery lightning among them, rapidly forming another spell:

“Co forth!”

He gave a low shout, his right earlobe trembled slightly, and a streak of blue light shot from his ear piercing, soaring into the sky, swallowing the roiling thunderbolts amassing above.

The ferocity on the two-headed ogre’s face froze — it knew most wizard spells and incantations but not the one this little warlock just released.

But the shock lasted only a brief mont; it resud its gapped-toothed malicious grin at the young wizards, as four tumors under his chin and behind his skull glowed red again.

Right then, a raspy, unexpected voice suddenly echoed from sowhere none anticipated:

“Devolve!”

From a hidden corner behind the little mound, the one-eyed crow ‘adopted’ by Li ng opened its beak and spat out a decay curse, enveloping the unprepared two-headed ogre.
