When the three hunters of the Absolution Hunting Team were sprinting across the campus for a bite of delicious tiger-mythical beast at, the two wizards they had just ntioned were walking, one behind the other, unhurriedly down the seemingly endless white corridor of the Institute of Applied Magic at the First University.

Professor Yao walked in front, biting a pipe, and Nicholas followed with his hands down.

The ’Enoch Elental Magic Laboratory’ studying classical magic, the ’Kabbalah Life Magic Laboratory’ studying mysterious magic, the ’Druid Magic Laboratory’ studying transformation, the ’Totem and Spiritual Field Theory Laboratory’ studying shaman magic, and others—nas of innurous applied magic laboratories flashed by Nicholas’ peripheral vision, leaving him dazzled and overwheld.

Just as he glimpsed at a new naplate—Two-Dinsional Evolution Lab—and felt a sense of familiarity, as if he’d heard soone ntion it before, the professor walking ahead suddenly stopped.

Nicholas, caught off guard, nearly bumped into Old Yao.

"So... sorry!"

The flustered warlock imdiately bowed, apologizing to the Dean of Jiuyou Academy: "I was a bit distracted, didn’t notice, I’m really sorry!"

"It’s a small matter, a small matter."

Old Yao patted Nicholas on the shoulder with the hand holding the pipe, his gaze sweeping over the ponytail on the back of Nicholas’ head, comforting him: "Who walks with full concentration all the ti? Don’t mind this little thing... Look, we’re here."

Saying this, he pointed at a black little door in front.

A brass naplate was affixed to the door, with a beautiful floral script engraved on it—Jabir and Valentine Alchemy Magic Laboratory.

Jabir and Valentine were nas Nicholas had never heard of, or perhaps he had, but simply couldn’t recall at the mont.

However, given these nas were engraved on a brass plate and hung on the door of an alchemy laboratory, Nicholas could easily infer that they must be nas of two powerful alchemists.

As he hesitated whether to ask the professor about these two alchemists’ deeds, the black little door was suddenly pushed open from inside, and Great Wizard Colmar, the spiritual leader of the Northern District Wizards, looked at the two warlocks at the door with an irritated face.

She was draped in a deerskin protective suit, blackened in many places, with oversized protective goggles askew on her forehead, her silver hair tied haphazardly at the back of her head, her face pale, with heavy dark circles, and her expression sowhat fatigued.

"You’re late!" The witch waved the jade pestle and mortar in her hand, rudely yelling at the Dean of Jiuyou Academy: "I spent many gold beans to rent this laboratory..."

"The value of knowledge cannot be asured by gold beans."

Professor Yao gently pushed Nicholas into the laboratory, calmly responding: "Mr. Nicholas needed to attend my curse course before he could co to assist. I believe I inford you of this in advance... Besides, I prefer you when you are in school, sensible and polite, never yelling at professors."

"Politeness won’t help the Northern District Wizards." Colmar sniffed, glancing coldly at her forr professor: "If you are willing to accept Northern District Wizards for admission, I would behave more well-behaved than at school. By the way, I just have a loud voice."

This is indeed not an issue that politeness can solve.

The professor chuckled bitterly twice, unable to respond for a mont.

"Admission isn’t that simple," after a pause, the professor spoke again: "Objectively speaking, whether it’s the Northern District Wizards or the new Mouse Clan, they don’t quite et the admission requirents of several academies... It’s not sothing that can be made up by mastering a few taboo magics; it requires a long ti of accumulation."

"That’s why I spent a large sum to rent this laboratory." Colmar said, with a self-deprecating smile, pushing the goggles down from her forehead: "As a boundary individual, I shouldn’t expect those core benefits... Slow walk, I won’t see you off."

She waved her hand, indicating she needed to start working.

Professor Yao stuffed the pipe into his mouth, clicked a few tis, but didn’t smoke, instead, he took it out again, shouting at the witch’s retreating back: "You can apply for a subsidy from the Alliance for the lab rent, no need to pay out of your own pocket... you are not alone, exhausting yourself is of no benefit to the Northern District Wizards!"

The witch did not respond, she simply raised her hand with her back to the professor, waving it casually, indicating she heard him.

The black iron door slamd shut, leaving this up-and-coming legendary great wizard outside.

Professor Yao reinserted the pipe into his mouth, staring at the brass naplate on the door, looking at the nas of the famous alchemists, and after a while, murmured to himself, "What a fool."

...

...

After sending off Nicholas, Professor Yao did not imdiately leave the Institute of Applied Magic but continued to walk slowly along the white corridor.

He then stopped in front of a bronze small door.

A brass plaque was also affixed on the door, engraved with the na of this laboratory—Montreya Laboratory—however, unlike the previous laboratory, beneath the na ’Montreya Laboratory’ was an additional line of small text ’Research on Bloodline and Advanced Magic Texts’, indicating this laboratory’s primary research direction.

Professor Yao, biting his pipe, grabbed the ox-head door ring hanging on the bronze door and knocked hard. The door ring beast drooped its eyelids, habitually sticking out its blue tongue, halfway startled by the visitor’s identity, quickly rolled up its tongue, and obediently opened the door.

Behind the door was a large laboratory.

Dozens of black-robed wizards were busy around various experint tables, tense and busy. Professor Montreya, thin and gray-haired, stood in front of the most populated experint table among them.

Hearing the door open, only Professor Montreya raised his head to glance out, his ash-gray eyes showing no surprise.

"You seem to be in a good mood."

Professor Yao spread his arms, and the fish-skin protective suit hanging on the coat rack floated up as if lifted by an invisible hand, lightly covering him, straps and clasps deftly fastening in the gaps.

He shrugged his shoulders and pulled a pair of silk gloves from the rack.

"Yeah, uh."

Professor Montreya’s thin lips curled slightly, the dark yellow skin on his high cheekbones even showing a hint of translucency: "You sent a wonderful gift. Very wonderful. When my fingertips touched the tiny runes engraved beneath its skin, it was like touching wonderful notes... notes that even Muse could not play."

"Sounds pretty perverted."

"No, it’s not perversion. Look around, what do you see?"

Professor Yao glanced around obediently, the black-robed researchers in the laboratory, as if not hearing the small talk between the two big shots, continued to focus intently on their respective experints.
