Sure enough, the Old Almanac is always right; I shouldn’t have gone out today. The Black Cat thought so, subconsciously snorting, trying to expel the bad luck from its body.
But honestly, listening to this inexplicable guy talking about school rules, Zheng Qing was indeed sowhat interested in the ’study interest group’ he ntioned.
However, being constantly reminded by Xiao Xiao every day, the young cost student was no longer a novice in the Wizard World. He was wary and guarded against anything he ’couldn’t see clearly’.
"I don’t even know the na of your club, why should I be interested in it?" The Black Cat raised the whiskers on its mouth, declining not so resolutely.
"Seven Sins."
The wizard wearing the white mask imdiately responded, "The club is called ’Seven Sins’. I am the Sin Bearer within the club. Due to personal reasons, I can’t continue this position, so I need a successor... and you’ve been chosen by as the successor."
"Seven Sins? Sin Bearer?"
The Black Cat chewed over these intriguing terms it heard. Originally not wanting to bother with the person further, but influenced by a cat’s curious nature, it couldn’t help but ask: "Is the club related to Atlas’s side? Are the personal reasons that you’re graduating? Are you a senior? Why pick ? Do we know each other? Do you know who I am?"
The fear is never speaking out in rejection, but not speaking at all.
The Black Cat tossed out a string of questions, which did not anger the wizard; instead, it delighted him. Eagerly, he replied, "Seven Sins is a school-wide club with a small scale, only counting myself, with a total of eight mbers, but I can very assuredly tell you that each mber is an absolute elite in the school... As for whether I’m a senior, that’s sothing you’ll have to figure out yourself... Within the organization, every mber is unaware of each other’s identities, myself included. But guessing is allowed amongst us. Of course, there are no rewards for guessing right."
Such strange rules only made the cat even more curious.
"Is your ’Seven Sins’ the sa Seven Sins as in Catholicism?" It leaned its head forward, its tail drooping and swaying slightly behind it.
The masked man chuckled, "...You can only find the answer to that question after joining."
The Black Cat’s swaying tail paused, and it tilted its head to the side. "And what about you, the Sin Bearer? What sins are you bearing? What is your role in the Seven Sins? It feels like I’ve never even heard of your club."
"There are many secretive clubs on campus that don’t recruit publicly, so it’s normal not to have heard of them." Having said this, the masked man paused and repeated his previous words with a smile: "As for the duties of the Sin Bearer... I can only answer that question after you join."
The Black Cat angrily stood up, its tail erect, pacing back and forth in front of the tree hollow.
"This can’t be said, that can’t be said... so cryptic and not letting people see the real face!" It exclaid indignantly, "Who would dare join such a club!"
This statent did not provoke the masked man’s anger; instead, it made him nod repeatedly.
"Indeed."
The wizard nodded slightly, agreeing, "If it were , facing such an entity of unknown origin and identity, I also wouldn’t easily trust... In that regard, your response is adequate... Being cautious is the most basic and most valued quality of every mber of the Seven Sins."
As he spoke, he took out a scroll of parchnt from his bosom and handed it to the Black Cat: "...As for our identity, there’s a certificate here issued by the school that can prove that ’Seven Sins’ is a legitimate official club."
The parchnt scroll was sealed with red wax, and there was a very clear student council stamp on it.
"Does the First University issue such docunts?" The Black Cat steadied itself on the spot, not moving, but its head leaned eagerly forward for a closer examination of that wax seal.
As the Atonent Hunting Team Leader, Zheng Qing was no stranger to dealing with the student council, and he recognized the student council’s seal. Moreover, the magical fluctuations transmitted from the wax seal were impeccably real, confirming the seal’s authenticity.
"As long as there’s a reasonable request, it’s not difficult to have the school issue such proof." The masked man held out the parchnt scroll, as if urging the Black Cat to open it.
The Black Cat quietly stared at it, without moving.
After a mont of stalemate, the masked man suddenly realized, glancing at the Black Cat’s paws: "Oh, it’s inconvenient for you to open it, right? Should I help you open it?"
The Black Cat gave him a look often reserved for the intellectually challenged, without making a sound. On the one hand, as a cat, it was indeed quite inconvenient to unfold a parchnt scroll; on the other hand, carelessly opening items handed over by strangers is a very unwise move.
Even if the parchnt scroll bore the student council’s wax seal.
With a slight shake of his pinky, the wizard flicked off the wax seal and naturally unfolded the parchnt, laying it out before the Black Cat while thoughtfully summoning a few Hou Bi Xiao Xing to dispel the heavy darkness of the night.
"I’m a cat right now!"
The Black Cat did not appreciate it, its green, glimring eyes shining brightly in the dim moonlight, sneering: "Just because you can’t see clearly doesn’t an I can’t."
The masked man did not speak, instead taking two steps back, leaving ample space for the Black Cat.
Moonlight mixed with the light from Hou Bi Xiao Xing fell on that parchnt, emanating a bluish glow. Through the halo, the Black Cat first noticed that beneath the parchnt lay a series of dazzling seals—First University Professor Joint eting, First University’s School Works Committee, First University Student Council, First University Club Union, and the Seven Sins stamp.
Aside from the ’relevant departnts,’ Zheng Qing recognized that the seals from several heavyweight bodies within the First University he knew appeared before it. Moreover, the magical fluctuations on them were no different from Zheng Qing’s impressions, combined with a cat’s intuition and the lazy little green snake, indeed dispelled many doubts.
Then, he read through that brief certificate carefully—
"Hereby certifies, Seven Sins (Club Number) as our school’s officially registered club (non-public recruitnt type), established in AD 1589, with the general aim of solidarity, mutual aid, and clearing sins. During its existence, the club has demonstrated compliance with First University’s various rules and regulations, performing excellently. This is to certify. (seal)"
The Black Cat snorted again, raising its head: "Then how do you prove..."
Before finishing, the white-masked wizard again unfolded a parchnt before it—"Hereby certifies, (na blurry) (a wisp of aura) as a formal mber of our club (warlock), from the 2007-2009 tenure in the role of ’Sin Bearer’. During the tenure, perford diligently, fulfilled duties responsibly, without any violations of school regulations and professional ethics. (seal)"
