Chapter 2032: Chapter 253: Four Ways to Die

Although the young wizards still had ti to banter, in fact, Absolution had indeed reached the mont of depletion— in every sense.

From amulets to array plates, from the bold hemp for brewing magic potions, to the yellow paper for drawing talismans, from their physical strength to their spirit.

All gone.

Not a single drop left.

The pocket watch in their hand emitted a crisp click.

An astonishing chill surged through the hunting ground again.

The hunting team leader shivered, glanced at the ti, exactly three minutes away from midnight.

“Run!”

He shouted loudly.

Turning back, the team mbers had already sprinted away. Dylan kept his word, running at the forefront, his figure like a wisp of smoke; Xiao Xiao, because of his short stature and short legs, lagged behind—not at the very end, since their captain was still covering for them.

“A bunch of bastards.”

The young cost student cursed softly, yet couldn’t help but smile, fired a few random shots at the dark shadow without looking back, and ran after them.

As long as the hunting team still had one person in the hunting ground at the end, it wouldn’t be considered a loss! Zheng Qing silently vowed in his heart, the group ran in circles around the hunting ground, striving to stay as far from the monster as possible.

But with their strength depleted, and large areas of the hunting ground covered by black shadows, their struggle seed particularly futile.

“Zul·Baha·Sal!”

A giant shadow like a demon roared this phrase.

“What is it howling about!” Zheng Qing panted heavily, his legs feeling as if filled with lead, even so, he easily caught up with Doctor Xiao.

Xiao Xiao pushed his skewed glasses, gasping: “Big, huff, probably, huff huff, probably saying, huff huff, we are all warriors… huff, huff!”

“No need for it to remind us of that.” Zheng Qing smirked.

“Also, huff huff,” Doctor Xiao’s face was flushed red, desperately keeping up with Zheng Qing’s pace: “It also said, huff huff, that the at of those who run fast is chewier, huff huff, tastes better… huff huff!”

Upon hearing this, Zheng Qing instinctively slowed his pace, while Doctor Xiao took the opportunity to overtake him again.

“I think that short word couldn’t contain such profound aning.” Zheng Qing finally reacted, laughing breathlessly as he surpassed the doctor again.

Joking aside.

Although fleeing for their lives, the experienced Absolution Hunting Team didn’t forget to form a long snake-like formation to maximize their team’s intact combat power.

Even so, these young wizards still couldn’t escape the counterattack of the gigantic ‘prey’.

Just a second passed, or perhaps ten seconds, anyway, very little ti had passed before Zheng Qing felt he hadn’t run even a hundred ters when the giant darkness easily caught up with them— as it passed Zheng Qing, it didn’t beco just one shadow, it was like an octopus spreading its tentacles, or the branches wielded by the Great Willow Tree on the Black Prison Battlefield.

The massive dark mass, pitch black and opaque, carried a dazzling brilliance as it wound towards the young wizard it had picked.

The use of ‘wind’ is sowhat mild, Zheng Qing felt a more fitting word would be ‘lash’.

And the black shadow’s target wasn’t the fastest running Dylan, nor was it the trailing Zheng Qing and Xiao Xiao, but Zhang Ji Xin who seed the safest at the center of the hunting team.

Boom!

The black shadow, carrying imnse kinetic energy, slamd in front of Zhang Ji Xin, carving a deep trench into the solid ground of the hunting field, severing the magic circuit of the long snake formation, and blocking the retreat of the red-faced male wizard.

“Damn!”

Zhang Ji Xin with astonishing agility halted his movent, bouncing sideways like a cannonball dropping on a steel plate, evading the aty lash— hard to say if it was a good or bad thing.

Because of this mont’s sluggishness, nurous massive dark tentacles sward in from all directions, surrounding the burly warlock.

Realizing he couldn’t escape, Zhang Ji Xin went all out.

“Co on!”

The warlock assud a stance, exuding a chilling aura from his whole body, as if being boiled his body stead, he opened his strange eyes wide, shouting: “Co on! Co over here!”

The shadow answered in silence, like a massive reptile, swirling, rotating, rapidly changing, constructing a dark vortex, with Zhang Ji Xin at its center.

When Zheng Qing realized this, the red-faced male wizard who looked ready to explode had already turned gray, the dark vortex siphoned all his spirit from him, and the gray shell in the dark vortex persisted for a re mont before completely disintegrating, turning into faint gray dust.

Clang!

A bright streak cut through the darkness enveloping the hunting ground sky, decisively stabbing into the dark vortex that devoured Zhang Ji Xin’s figure.

It was the Blue Bird.

Seeing his figure for a fleeting mont, Zheng Qing realized his intention— if escape was impossible, then don’t flee, facing death head-on was better than dying with a cowardly back turned.

In dire circumstances, seeking life within death of itself might bring a glimr of hope.

The sword light severed a black tentacle, falling into the dark vortex, stirring a ripple, then shattered with a bang. Along with it shattered the resolute figure of Blue Bird.

Running at the forefront, Dylan stopped and glanced back.

“This is too embarrassing.”

Mister Blood Werewolf muttered, standing in place, straightening the creased robe, tightening the belt, fastening the sleeve cuffs, adjusting the angled badge on his chest, before taking out a handkerchief to clean the dust off his face.

Before even one cheek was wiped clean, the black shadow covered him, Dylan didn’t even raise his head, continued cleaning his face alone, letting the swirling vortex engulf him.

“Such a sha.”

Xiao Xiao sighed heavily, carefully storing the Bamboo Slip Law Book close to his body before looking up at Zheng Qing with a face full of regret: “…just a few more minutes, and we could have lasted till the end.”

A thick black tentacle materialized behind the short warlock, quietly coiling around his waist, with one pull, like a frog catching prey with its tongue, swiftly disappeared with Xiao Xiao into the dense darkness.

Only then did Zheng Qing open his mouth.

He was like a fish in a dried ditch, his mouth opening and closing, again open, again close. Repeating this a few tis, he finally realized his hunting team was utterly annihilated, dropping his arms dejectedly.

Now it was just him.

All around were dense black masses, continuously pouring out from vortexes, filling the entire hunting ground, emitting a piercing cold.

Then a thick tentacle coiled around the boy’s waist.

Zheng Qing felt he ought to say sothing, under everyone’s eyes, it wouldn’t do to appear panicked and helpless. Just as he racked his brains, the black shadow suddenly retreated.

Vaguely, he only heard a gentle, fla-like burning fuzzy whispering:

“Mordicana… to… greetings…”
