Now reading: Chapter 2200 - 421: Ouroboros Retreats from High School of Demon Hunting, a Fantasy novel by Solemn Knight.

The outermost layer of the Winter Hunting Ground has always belonged to the elite Hunting teams of the school.

There are not many of them, but their combat power is formidable.

Just like this year.

Apart from the twenty-eight officially registered Hunting teams, there are also two unregistered but equally recognized teams arranged in the outermost layer by the school.

One of them is the Fringe Hunting Team, which made it to the finals of this year’s Campus Cup, a ranking that serves as excellent proof; the other is the Ouroboros Hunting Team from the Alpha Academy—thanks to the new Augustus, this team, nad after the Xiang Qi Club’s emblem of the Ouroboros, has won the favor of many young Wizards and, with the ample gold support from the current captain Andrew Taylor, secured the last piece of the outer Hunting Ground.

However, had Andrew known that this Winter Hunting eting would encounter such unfortunate circumstances, he would surely not have wasted so much gold.

When Linda Barnes tore off the red ribbon tied to the parchnt scroll, the young Werewolf from a small North Arican family was holding a partial eting.

The term ’partial eting’ was used because the Ouroboros Hunting Team had as many as thirty Hunters participating in this Winter Hunting, making it the team with the largest number of participants, and thus, the Hunting Committee allocated the largest area to the Ouroboros—taking into account factors like the balance of Hunter strength, number of team mbers, and area division, the school finally assigned a Hunting area to the Ouroboros that spanned two ’layers’; one part of the area was located near Beta Town, considered a middle-layer area; the other part, like the other twenty-nine hunting teams, was located beyond the Silent River, in the outermost layer of the Winter Hunting Ground.

On the first day of Winter Hunting, Andrew gathered the thirty Hunters to thoroughly clean the middle-layer area, established the Ouroboros team’s main camp there, and assigned Hunters skilled in concocting Magic Potions, crafting Talismans, and repairing Alchemical Items to the main camp, serving as the rear base, and then led the remaining twenty-plus Hunters into the outer region.

In the following two days, whenever a Hunter was injured or too exhausted, he would send them back to the rear base at the first opportunity. As a result, with less than three hours remaining before the end of the Hunting Competition, the Ouroboros Hunting Team still maintained a team with a size of fifteen, with morale and combat power still at their peak.

At this mont, the discussion content in the ’partial eting’ was whether the Ouroboros should take the initiative to strike and delve slightly deeper into the Silent Forest to gain more prey.

Andrew was inclined to go out.

Although the outer-layer area designated by the school was said to be fraught with peril, it had been roughly cleared, with many high-danger-level prey hunted or expelled in advance. In the activity of hunting, danger and reward are directly proportional. This also ans that even if the Ouroboros team catches all the rabbits in their Hunting Ground, it might not yield much reward.

Although he had considered losses when spending a large sum of gold organizing the Hunting team and purchasing Talismans, potions, and other equipnt for the team mbers, it never hurts if he could slightly make up for it.

Thinking of this, the short and fat Wizard shook the falling snow off the Dragon Skin Cloak—no matter what, they had to earn back the gold spent on buying thirty Dragon Skin Cloaks—he raised his arm and coughed gently, indicating he had sothing to say.

And at that mont.

A sudden unease surged, and on the back of his raised hand, the curled hair stood on end, one after another, like a startled hedgehog or porcupine.

This was so sort of inherent talent from the Werewolf Bloodline to sense danger.

Andrew’s gaze lingered on the back of his hand for half a second.

The young Werewolf, though typically fierce, was also driven by self-interest and caution and, fortunately, possessed a tad bit of self-awareness, knowing when to advance and when to retreat.

"Retreat!"

The Wolf cub of the Taylor family did not hesitate at all, he didn’t even pursue the source of his unease, and with a decisive wave of his arm, he exclaid firmly:

"Run! Imdiately! Now! Leave everything behind, forget about them! Leave it all! Quick!"

Everyone stared at their captain in astonishnt, not knowing what madness he was up to.

Andrew kicked away an Array Plate in front of him—one of the Hunters seed to be intending to stoop down and pick up that Array Plate—the Captain of the Ouroboros Hunting Team shouted sternly: "I don’t want any of it! Retreat! Hang all the Armor Horse Charms on! Prioritize using the Flight spell and Quick movent spell! Target the rear base!"

Saying this, he flipped open the Law book and cast a Spell on himself first:

"The wild geese take flight, their feathers rustling!"

Accompanied by the spinning and gathering of magic power, a pair of light gray goose wings appeared behind the fat Wizard. However, he seed still dissatisfied, reaching out to grab two Armor Horse Charms, hanging them on his legs, and then pushing off with both legs, about to take off.

At this mont, a deeply profound and distant aura suddenly surged, and the entire Silent Forest seed to tremble for an instant, the pair of goose wings behind Andrew flapped twice with a ’poof,’ and turned into two strands of gray mist, dissipating into the air.

The young Werewolf, less than three feet off the ground, fell into a snow pit in a terribly awkward posture.

Beside him, there seed to be the exclamations of others, but none of this mattered to him, his strong heart pounded, pumping surges of hot blood surging to every corner of the young Werewolf’s body.

Without saying a word, he tore off his cloak, hung two more Armor Horse Charms on his legs, and then flipped open another Law book: "The wings of the mayfly, fluttering garnts!"

A pair of translucent mayfly wings buzzed open.

This ti, without needing further urging from him, a variety of spell lights lit up one after another in the snowy landscape, and the fourteen Hunters of the Ouroboros Hunting Team followed their captain, as if a group of flying mad dogs, scrambling towards the rear base.

Levitation spell, Flight spell, Quick movent spell.

Under the overlap of multiple spells, this small hunting team reached the edge of the middle-layer area at an astonishing speed, without encountering any obstacles or attacks along the way, so much so that Andrew suddenly began to have second thoughts, wondering if he had overreacted a bit.

As if to soothe his unease.

Buzz!

A minute yet long-lasting vibration abruptly erged, transmitted from the invisible magic power to the colorless air, then passed onto this tangible World.

The towering trees in the forest quivered in the tremor, the snow on their crowns rustled down, and Andrew opened his mouth, feeling that even his voice seed to tremble unconsciously:

"Faster!!"

No further urging was needed, as everyone saw the golden curtain not far away descending slowly and felt the shiver-inducing aura emanating from that curtain.

"The solemn heron’s feathers, gathering over there!"

The captain of the Ouroboros Hunting Team straightforwardly shredded his favorite Law book, releasing a powerful spell for auxiliary flight. The fifteen individuals, like a group of weary birds returning ho, turned into a stream of light under the wrapping of magic power, rushing below the golden curtain in its last mont of descent.

"What happened?" It was only then did soone regain their senses.

Andrew Taylor lay sprawled on his back in the snow, not wanting to get up at all, and upon hearing the question, rely sighed lazily: "I don’t know... I just know that now we’re safe."
