Soone wants Zheng Qing to learn a lesson.
However, others wish to keep things from escalating.
Beta Town Pedestrian Street.
Wandering Bar.
In a small room on the second floor, the owner of the Wandering Bar lifted his sleeve, wiped the gri off the window glass, then craned his neck to peer outside through the glass.
Even though it’s dayti, the shop’s display window was pitch black, the entrance tightly shut, devoid of any signs of life.
No one is good.
The Elder Wizard muttered inwardly, realizing that the lack of people ant everyone maintained a delicate balance of attitude—so wanted a drop of that child’s blood; so wanted the child to gain more experience; others wanted to fish in troubled waters, watching as things slip out of control—whatever the case, at this point in ti, everyone’s choices leaning towards consistency was ultimately a good thing.
But as they say, good things take ti.
Before the final outco is revealed, and the dust settles, no one can guarantee the tiline will converge on a result everyone can accept.
"I saw your ugly big hooked nose even when I was downstairs."
A voice unexpectedly ca from behind him.
The Wandering Wizard reacted quickly, turning around with dozens of differently colored enchanted lights flickering around him, but when he saw the unexpected guest’s appearance, he respectfully dispelled those ready spells.
"Good afternoon, Dean."
The Elder Wizard eagerly moved behind the small bar, took out his favorite ’Ti of Flowing Gold’ from the liquor cabinet, and poured two glasses: "...It’s a trendous honor to have you visit my little establishnt."
He hadn’t spoken such flattery for quite so ti, so his wording seed slightly awkward.
The wine glasses flew steadily in front of the guest.
The Dean of Jiuyou Academy picked up the glass, and a few inconspicuous subtle ripples flashed across his otherwise solid figure, though the two Elder Wizards in the room seed completely unaware.
"Quick reaction; not many wizards at your age remain so agile."
Old Yao praised him, bringing the glass under his nose, sniffing, then nodding with so regret: "If it weren’t such a busy day today, I’d certainly have two drinks...do you know why I ca here today?"
The Wandering Wizard didn’t answer this question directly.
"I thought the person coming would be Su Councilor from the Moon Council." He spread his hands honestly, without concealing his confusion: "...You’re here to see , then where’s Su Councilor?"
"She went to chat with others." Old Yao responded concisely.
"Like you?"
"That young lady is much more straightforward than I am."
Seemingly recalling sothing, the Dean of Jiuyou Academy curled his lips: "She directly used her Upper House mber status to call for an ergency eting of high-level wizards in the Moon Council to ensure there wouldn’t be any antics there...I can’t afford to be outdone by a little girl, can I? So I have to toil myself and chat with you troubleso ones..."
While speaking, he set down the glass, took out his pipe from his pocket, and a few unobtrusive subtle ripples again flashed across his solid figure.
"And besides... Little Su can’t watch you."
Old Yao pointed at the bar owner with his pipe, shaking his head: "Originally, we could have let Baoyangzi handle this trip, but as you know, the situation on the island is a bit delicate right now, the less commotion the better, so I thought I’d handle it myself, talk to one or talk to ten, it’s all the sa, everyone’s intelligent, it saves a lot of trouble."
"You can fully trust my character." The Wandering Wizard raised his glass.
"Your character is indeed reliable," Old Yao chuckled, tapped his pipe: "But when conducting experints, the most vital thing is rigor...just like how I always manage the lab’s ledger myself, never using gold to test humanity."
This answer very much aligned with the Wandering Wizard’s business philosophy.
So he had nothing to say.
And Old Yao, as a guest, was also unwilling to delve into more.
The room fell silent, with only the starry twinkle of Ti of Flowing Gold in the Wandering Wizard’s glass, and the faint ember in Professor Yao’s pipe witnessing the slow passage of ti.
Another glass of wine was downed.
The bar owner couldn’t help but turn to look out the window again, and after retracting his gaze, he suddenly asked: "Professor, what do you think are their chances of success?"
His question was very vague, seemingly referring to those young people tinkering with the sandbox, or perhaps talking about sothing else entirely.
"That is a very intriguing question."
Old Yao glanced at him with a hint of amusent, providing a very straightforward answer: "So, I must respond with the three most marvelous words in linguistics—’I don’t know.’"
The Wandering Wizard wasn’t aware of what made the three words ’I don’t know’ so marvelous.
But he knew the opportunities to sit face-to-face, chatting leisurely with a Legendary Wizard from the First University were rare, so he cut straight to the point and asked: "So what’s your view on the theoretical breakthroughs in the analysis of Demon Flesh within the wizard world these past few years?"
Considering the real identity of the guest, this question was quite bold.
The Dean of Jiuyou Academy pondered for a mont.
"I quite like this theory."
He carefully chose his words, replying slowly: "But I believe each theory has its historical period. Just like the theory of information unification and dinsional theory...including dinsional theory itself, you see, new magical theories will always be riddled with contradictions and errors, so under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t directly call an observation that doesn’t align with the theory an ’error’. Rather, I consider it as belonging to so ’open result’ or ’incomplete result’."
"Do you think ordinary wizards can handle the flesh of high-level demons?" the Wandering Wizard seriously pressed.
This ti, Old Yao hesitated not at all and responded sincerely: "Do not attempt it. Not everyone is capable of obtaining an ’open result’. The flesh of high-level demons contains their way, or rather, to use a term more fitting to low-dinsional beings, contains their ’consciousness’...Low-dinsional consciousness should never try to understand, influence, or interfere with high-dinsional consciousness, because they’ll make you feel as though they are under your control while actually dominating you...It is a silent descent."
"Do you think they have fallen?" The Wandering Wizard reflexively questioned.
Only after asking did he realize that his question might have been overly blunt.
But the Legendary Wizard in the room didn’t mind his urgency; instead, he glanced out the window, and sighed lightly: "Is there a clear boundary to darkness? Is it when the sun sets or the moon rises? No one can quite define it... Just like descent...they’ve plunged into darkness, yet haven’t started to fall, as if lingering in the dazzling and vague ’twilight’ between day and night."
The Wandering Wizard savored the term ’twilight’, remaining silent for a long ti.
