366: Chapter 35 Green’s Grocery Store_1 366: Chapter 35 Green’s Grocery Store_1 In the afternoon.

Pedestrian Street in Beta Town.

Green Grocery Store.

After lunch, Zheng Qing did not imdiately return to his dorm to rest, but instead dragged Doctor Xiao through a gloomy corridor, making his way to the pedestrian street.

The young student was still traumatized by the events of the morning’s magic class.

He realized deeply that it was absolutely necessary to have a few commonly used shorthand quills prepared in order to genuinely increase his classroom efficiency in the future.

The Green Grocery Store is located between Double Tang Note and Huck Brothers Watch Shop; also, it is quite near the corridor entrance leading to the campus.

Double Tang Note is the candy shop where Zheng Qing just passed and couldn’t resist buying another candy man doing a tap dance – this childish act received a silent contempt from Doctor Xiao.

Around noon, especially during the regular class period, there weren’t many pedestrians on the street.

However, the Green Grocery Store was bustling and lively.

When Zhang Ji Xin recomnded the shop to Zheng Qing, he patted his chest and vowed that he could buy the fastest quill in all of Buji Island here.

“My brother told , it’s definitely true!” the red-faced male wizard declared.

Indeed, it seed so.

From squeezing into the entrance of the shop to standing in front of the sales counter, less than ten ters apart, Zheng Qing already saw several groups of young wizards leaving the shop with a variety of rchandise, including various teaching aids, experintal tools, commonly-used herbs, as well as ink, paper, and brushes, etc.

“People are buying, and there are many people buying…this is a good sign.” Zheng Qing, observing his surroundings seriously, nodded and quietly said to his companion, “It proves that the items here are really good.”

Xiao Xiao, leaning on his notebook, rolled his eyes languidly, snorting, “Idiot.”

The young student was used to the sarcastic and mocking tone of the Doctor and this did not affect his mood as he curiously looked around the store.

The items sold in the Green Grocery Store were very plentiful.

The tall shelves extended from the floor all the way up to the ceiling – it was obvious that, through magic, the shop had expanded the room considerably – and they were filled with goods.

Stacks of five standard talismans, neatly tied up with red thread and placed on the shelves, next to a large sign that was hanging with the words ‘no retail sales’ written in bold letters.

Similarly, there were sets of ten silk gloves, packs of a hundred Crane origami papers, all placed on the sa level of shelves, indicating that these items have the highest sales volu.

The young wizards entering the store seed to know the owner’s rules, not bargaining or being picky; they simply grabbed the pre-packaged goods, threw down their tal currency, and swiftly left, making the rhythm extrely smooth.

The items on the upper shelves were more troubleso.

The custors surely would not step on a tall cloud ladder or sit on a floppy Persian carpet, swaying as they checked the rchandise on top.

For this, the grocery store had employed a large group of elves.

They wore green gauze skirts, grasped long parchnt paper lists in their hands, and flew back and forth in mid-air.

Custors could readily tear off those parchnt paper lists that fluttered in front of their eyes, check the listed rchandise data, and if needed, call the elves to take down the items for them.

“What do you gentlen need?” noticing the young wizards wearing red robes who were looking around, the witch behind the counter, wearing a pointed hat, kindly greeted them, “We have ‘Five Year Grade Simulation,’ ‘Complete Textbook Interpretation by Wang Daxiong,’ ‘Dash Full Marks,’ ‘Rank on the Gold List,’ etc.

Plus the question booklets privately published by the professors of Jiuyou Academy and the class notes from previous top students at Jiuyou …

Green Grocery Store have them all.”

Listening to these terrifying terms, Zheng Qing managed to maintain a stiff smile on his face and replied, “No rush…

I don’t need them…

I just want to buy a few quills.”

“Oh, quills.” The salesperson obviously looked disappointed missing out on a big sale, but she soon cheered up and enthusiastically recomnded, “Then what kind of quill do you want?

I can recomnd so classic versions to you…”

As she spoke, she reached out and pulled over a peacock that had been leisurely pacing on the sales counter, forcibly spreading out the peacock’s tail.

The multi-coloured quills overlapping each other ford a brightly colored, beautiful tail screen.

The peacock lying on the sales counter seed to have noticed the shocked expressions on the faces of the two young wizards in front of it, and it raised its neck involuntarily, calling a couple of tis in self-satisfaction.

The witch wearing the pointed hat slapped the peacock’s head back down onto the counter and recomnded with a big smile, “Look at this one…

it’s made from the red feathers of the Little Mountain Cold Crow, it cos with a natural energizing effect.

You do not have to worry about dozing off in class when holding it in your hand…

as well as this one, it’s made from geese feathers, one dip of ink can last an entire day!”

Xiao Xiao suddenly stretched out his hand and pointed at a huge blueish quill in the center of the peacock’s tail, asking doubtfully, “What about this one?

It appears to be a feather from a phoenix tail which is a magical creature that’s banned from hunting by the Wizard’s Alliance.”

“Absolutely correct!

This is indeed a quill made from Azure Phoenix tail feather.” The witch looked at the short male wizard in surprise and imdiately added, “But this feather cos from an incidentally deceased Azure Phoenix…

If you need it, the Green Grocery Store can provide all the necessary material proof related to the purchase process.”

“No, not needed, thank you.” Xiao Xiao quickly withdrew his hand and picked up his notebook again.

Zheng Qing cleared his throat, his voice sounding dry, “Actually…

I just need a few shorthand quills…

for taking class notes.”

This demand struck the young witch behind the counter once again.

Her disappointnt was clearly noticeable and Zheng Qing almost impulsively reached for his wallet to buy the Azure Phoenix tail feather quill.

Fortunately, he felt his light wallet in ti and suppressed this impulse.

“Shorthand quills, one bundle of six, no individual sale.” The young witch lifted a small tree from under the counter and put it in front of the custors.

Zheng Qing initially thought what she presented was a Christmas tree.

However, he soon noticed that hanging on the branches and twigs were not pine needles but bundles of quills tied up with colorful threads.

“There are different styles of shorthand pens…

You can try them out first.” The saleswoman pushed a piece of white paper and a small box of ink towards them, nodded politely, and said, “After you have made your selection, you can give the money to them.”

With that, she pointed to an elf sitting on top of the tree.

The elf Hehe agreed cheerily, flapped her wings, held up her long parchnt paper list, and showed the two young wizards her authority.

The female salesperson then turned her pointed hat slightly, smiled apologetically, and turned around to greet other custors.
