Now reading: Chapter 485 - 485 154 Two Things1 from High School of Demon Hunting, a Fantasy novel by Solemn Knight.

485: Chapter 154 Two Things_1 485: Chapter 154 Two Things_1 After the laughter subsided, there was a new vitality in the once languid classroom.

The sunshine pouring through the windows seed to be much brighter than before.

Professor Yao, pipe smoking in hand and arms folded, nodded approvingly with an eye that squinted gleefully.

“All awake now?”

He tapped the desk with his pipe and asked with a smile.

“Awake!”

The classroom was filled with a unanimous response.

“…Since everyone is awake, let’s start the lesson.” Getting to the point caused Old Yao’s face to take on a seriousness.

Each student could feel the difference in his tone, quickly straightening their backs and pulling out their notebooks.

“As per usual, I’ll begin by giving you a brief idea of today’s teaching plan.”

“In today’s curse class, I have arranged two main things for you.”

“The first part is a normal lesson…

you will learn a new spell, the Chaos Spell.”

At this point, Professor Yao seed to rember sothing and his face imdiately lit up: “I heard many of you are participating in this year’s on-campus hunting party?”

As he spoke, he scanned the classroom.

Underneath the podium, many students puffed out their chests with pride.

Even Zheng Qing, who had been drifting between consciousness and oblivion, managed to open his eyes wide, trying to maintain the honor befitting a Hunting Team Leader.

“Excellent, excellent…” Old Yao put his pipe down, gave a thumbs-up, and generously comnded them: “Participating in such a competition in your first year, it’s truly an honor to our Jiuyou Academy.”

“Who dares to randomly blabber that our academy is full of bookworms who can only read and take tests!”

The classroom imdiately filled with laughter and approval.

The professor paused and turned the topic back to the lesson: “…Of course, demon hunting is a dangerous activity.

Going to the Hunting Ground recklessly with only courage and enthusiasm is not wise.”

“I originally planned to teach you the ‘Guardian of the Original Morning’ spell today…

but considering your weak foundation in demon hunting, I adjusted the teaching plan accordingly.”

“Let’s first teach you the ‘Chaos Spell’.”

“This spell was originally a selective spell in the second sester of the first year and is not in the curriculum laid out by the professors’ joint eting…

because you will participate in the ‘Monster Hunting Trials’ before the start of the sophomore year, – I ntioned this in the first lesson, you haven’t forgotten, have you?”

The classroom buzzed with chatter as many students quietly echoed the professor’s words.

Zheng Qing flipped through his notes, only then did he rember this fact.

The students of First University were initially required to participate in a ‘trial’ before enrollnt to foster independence and encourage a strong willingness to learn.

However, due to the poor basic skills of freshn, these trials often curbed their enthusiasm for learning rather than honing their determination.

Due to this, the ‘trial’ for the Class of ’08 was rearranged to be held before the start of the sophomore year, part of First University’s curriculum reform.

“…The circumstances you will face in the on-campus hunting party are nothing less than those encountered in the trial field.

So today, I will teach you the ‘Chaos Spell’ in advance to slightly improve your odds of survival in the hunting contest.”

As the professor talked about these disconcerting details, he turned around and knocked on the blackboard.

Four or five pieces of chalk jumped out of the box one after another, landing on the blackboard, and began to dance delightfully to the sound of the professor’s speech: “This spell is very effective for dealing with groups of demons…

Let’s first understand the basic structure of the spell.”

“Professor!”

An abrupt voice rang out in the classroom, interrupting Old Yao’s lecture.

Zheng Qing, squinting his eyes and tilting his head, looked at the little witch in the front row, neither surprised nor annoyed by her lack of classroom discipline — if Li ng could sit quietly and attentively through an entire class, that would be surprising!

He was more curious about what mischief this little witch was up to today.

Jiang Yu covered her face helplessly, obviously having given up attempting to restrain her overenthusiastic cousin.

“Professor!” Li ng raised her small arm high and shook it hard, trying to attract Old Yao’s attention.

When she called the second ti, the professor seed to finally hear the unusual noise, he lowered his head, sluggishly eyed her, and asked, “What is it?”

“Professor, what’s the second thing?” Li ng put down her arm, complained and squird restlessly in her seat like an eel out of water:

“You said earlier there were two things planned for today’s class…”

“Oh, that!” Old Yao smacked his forehead as if he suddenly rembered, then stuffed his pipe back into his mouth, inhaling deeply: “Huh…”

Green smoke rolled out from his nostrils, like the steam emitted from a locomotive, imdiately clouding his face.

“…I was planning to quietly finish the first part of today’s lesson, teach all of you the ‘Chaos Spell,’ and then bring up the second issue,” the professor put down his pipe, cleared the smoke in front of him, revealing a cryptic smile, “…of course, if you can maintain good classroom discipline and excellent study results, there’s no problem in telling all of you now…”

This familiar tone alerted many astute students to what was coming.

The classroom burst into a flurry of impatient hushes.

“So, what is the second thing exactly?” Li ng pouted and humd.

“The other thing planned for today’s class is sothing I promised you all a long ti ago,” the professor did not drag the mystery any longer, explaining casually, “…the school hunting party has already started, hasn’t it?

Yesterday, I chatted with Councilor Su who agreed to et all of you today…”

Zheng Qing blinked, stunned for a mont.

He has been very sensitive to any news regarding Su Shijun, fearing he might be caught off guard.

However, what Old Yao ntioned was indeed a promise made a long ti ago.

In the first curse lesson, due to a gossip news that ‘Su Shijun has an illegitimate child, the identity of the male parent is a mystery,’ many students were depressed and unhappy.

To lift the classroom atmosphere, Professor Yao pledged to invite Su Councillor to et everyone and talk about this matter after the start of the school hunting party.

Since the professor hasn’t brought it up in a long ti, Zheng Qing didn’t quite catch on imdiately.

Most students in Astronomy Class 08-1, and publicly funded students, had the sa reaction.

Even though they had been prepared, the second piece of information from the professor still ca as a surprise.

Many people couldn’t recover from the shock imdiately.
