Now reading: Chapter 579 - 579 248 Under the Red Light1 from High School of Demon Hunting, a Fantasy novel by Solemn Knight.

579: Chapter 248: Under the Red Light_1 579: Chapter 248: Under the Red Light_1 When the young wizards of the Absolution Hunting team stood on a small hill discussing the sudden burst of red light and the rumbling explosions just outside the academy, the lawn outside the Ascend Dinsion Laboratory of the First University’s Magic Research Institute was already filled with many black-robed wizards who had rushed here.

Everyone stood there, staring blankly at the scene before them, bewildered.

The originally neat, square, grayish-brown building now slowly lted like wax in the dim red light, occasionally transforming into various monstrous shapes with bared teeth and claws as if it were alive.

Through the red light, the wizards could see a giant fox sitting in the middle of the building ruin, holding a massive sphere of light.

Around it, many black-robed researchers had gathered, animatedly gesticulating.

Strangely, it seed as if the fox and the many wizards within the red glow were rely illusions.

The wizards outside could see them but could not touch or communicate with them.

No matter if it was ivy, rope, or energy beams, anything that entered the red light would lt into one body; any magic that fell within the range of the red light would silently vanish.

This made the rescue operation entirely unfeasible.

Even the professional rescue team mbers from the campus staff committee, who carried thousands of pages of operation standards, were baffled and helpless faced with an accident scene exceeding ordinary magical disasters.

They could only control the scene within their power, preventing others from approaching and preventing a secondary accident.

There was not a single foolish wizard who would be present at such a ti.

Everyone had already guessed the identity of the fox in their hearts—this made the situation even more difficult.

One misstep, and the school would face the questioning of the Magic Alliance Conference of Grand Wizards.

Especially since that fox also served as a council mber of the “Under the Moon” assembly, it could easily trigger diplomatic problems.

“Everyone!

Everyone retreat to a safe distance of one hundred ters!” A tall, middle-aged wizard dressed in a grey school uniform flailed his arms and shouted.

Following his voice, an orange circle of light spread out from the accident building, gently pushing away all the wizards near the accident site.

“Where is the life detection device?” The middle-aged school worker shouted again.

“Life detection device in place!” Not far away, several grey-robed figures quickly manipulated a set of alchemy instrunts in front of them that resembled chis, and dissonant “Ding Dong” sounds ca from the chis.

This was clearly abnormal, and the response from the school workers responsible for the detection confird this.

“The anomaly of magic power fluctuations on the scene is too severe; the detection device cannot work normally!” One of the grey-robed figures finally replied helplessly: “We can’t determine their specific situation now.”

“Damn it, has the investigation team’s analysis data not co out yet?” The middle-aged grey-robed school worker cursed under his breath, his brows furrowed.

He looked at the still-shaking red light, then turned to look at his colleagues: “Don’t wait, start constructing the Four Symbols Barrier!”

“Preparing The Window!

Jiuyou!”

“Preparing The Window!

Alpha!”

“Preparing The Window!

Atlas!”

“Preparing The Window!

Starry Sky!”

Four grey-robed wizards growled, each standing at a corner of the building, each with a large staff in front of him.

As the spell was chanted, the staff heads were set ablaze with red, white, yellow, and blue flas.

The flas scattered, casting a blueish halo over the entire disaster building.

“dical team, stand by outside!

Arrange the beds according to the list sent by the Applied Magic Research Institute!” The middle-aged school worker continued, soon noticing several search dogs weaving through the crowd, his face imdiately dropping: “Who brought these runts here?

This isn’t a ruin!

We don’t need them!

Alyosha?

Alyosha?!

Take your dogs back, don’t add to the chaos here!”

“Yes, sir,” a skinny male wizard bowed in response.

After whistling for his partners, he casually walked towards the outskirts.

“Go, find Uncle Ferna and Uncle Hemingway, they are more familiar with such situations.” The burly school worker whispered to the greyrobed one beside him and then turned toward so blackrobes not too distant, “Zhang Yu?

Where’s Dean Yao?”

“The professor is coming soon,” replied the white-haired assistant in a gentle tone, but he did not provide a precise ti or place.

“I hope he can arrive before this building completely lts,” emphasized the grey-robed school worker, “after all, he’s now in charge of all operations of the university.”

He put a special emphasis on the word ‘in charge’.

Though they heard the insinuation in the middle-aged school worker’s words, none of the black-robed assistants argued.

They were discussing the situation at the scene in low voices.

“It’s a ss,” Thomas glanced at the building with great concern and quickly said, “According to the news from the Guardian Array duty room of the university, the threat level here has risen to ‘S ’…

In my understanding, it’s similar to the threat when Mariana’s Demon King Sea Monster leads its army to attack the university.”

“Although it’s a bit exaggerated, I agree with your analogy.” Hilda Tang Alfanso still dressed in her punk outfit, but she had a very serious tone and expression, “I’ve always felt that conducting such experints on Buji Island is too risky…

Why doesn’t the school move these laboratories to the New World?

Even if they blew up seventeen or eighteen holes there, they wouldn’t receive a warning letter from the Environntal Protection Agency.”

“Which institute is this exactly?” Another witch couldn’t help asking.

“Applied Magic Research Institute, Ascend Dinsional Research Institute,” Zhang Yu replied quietly, “According to what I know, a high-level experint project is currently underway in this institute…

Victor, could you go and give the school utility staff a heads up?

We will have to ask those ‘enthusiastic helpers’ to back off first.”

“What a wonderful task.” The burly man in a black robe and leather armor shook his head and walked towards the cluster of grey-robed school workers.

“It’s precisely because these experints are too dangerous that they can’t be casually moved outside.” Zhang Yu turned to Hilda and spoke quietly, “Even on the tightly guarded Buji Island, we can find so ‘uninvited guests’ every month.

If we were to move the labs out, particularly to those New Worlds full of holes like sieves, what do you think would happen?”

“The experints falling into the wrong hands would be even more dangerous for the world,” Thomas added, “Even the Under the Moon parliant does not have permission to conduct dinsional fluctuation experints…

I don’t think I am smarter than the old n at the Magic Alliance Conference.”

Assistant Hilda shrugged, declining to continue this discussion.

Though she really wanted to say that being old was synonymous with being confused.

“Where on earth is Dean Yao?!” glancing worriedly at the still-twisting building, the assistant witch on the side asked with so anxiety, “Do we need to notify other deans…

or the Professor Joint Conference?”

“Professor Yao is now in charge of the university’s affairs.” Zhang Yu gave her a warning glance, “The professor will be here soon…

This lab is very sensitive, so he needs to find so assistance…”

Before he could finish, there were several light hissing noises not far from the assistants.

The abrupt appearance of these figures imdiately drew the attention of everyone at the scene.

Under the green barrier’s glow, Old Yao’s sleek bald head shone brightly.
