794: Chapter 142 The Congressman and the Two Maids 794: Chapter 142 The Congressman and the Two Maids Su Shijun stood by the window, resting her chin on her arm, her gaze dreamily fixed on the plant in the flowerpot before her.

It was a cluster of Seven-color pansies.

Legend had it that this flower possessed magical effects; by plucking one of its petals and chanting a spell, it could fulfill a wish.

Of course, such fairy tales were only believed by young apprentices who had not yet co of age.

For an adult witch like Su Shijun, who had already surpassed the level of a registered wizard to beco a Big Wizard, this cluster of Seven-color pansies was rely relatively nice to look at.

The winter sun lacked the brightness of spring and the brilliance of sumr and was sowhat more subdued.

Yet within this subdued light, it contained infinite flavors—like the salt in soup, a small amount, but indispensable.

With the sunlight, even in the cold wind, there was added hope, helping to kindle a bit of vitality from the depths of people’s hearts.

The sunlight filtered through the window, fell between the flowerpots, and a halo of colorful light rippled on the seven-colored petals of the pansies, as if they possessed magic, captivating those who gazed upon them.

Su Shijun stared at that cluster of flowers, and after a long while, she sighed deeply, then lifted her hand, pinched a red petal with two long fingers, and gently pulled it, detaching it from the flower.

“Fly, fly away, I wish for my troubles to lessen,” she murmured to herself in a voice only she could hear, silently praying while her fingers flicked the petal into the air.

The red petal, like a fla, soared through the window, drifting leisurely into the colorful garden and quickly landed among a bunch of equally dazzling red spider lilies, disappearing from sight.

“Oh my, Miss!

Why did you pluck a petal from the Seven-Color Flower?!

That was a gift from Uncle Milton specially brought back from the Alps for you!” Su Ya’s voice, full of alarm, rang out behind the witch.

The “Uncle Milton” she ntioned was none other than the Blood Race’s Upper House mber of the Moon Council, the current head of the Karen Family, Duke Milton.

Though rumors flew wildly in the Wizard World these days about Su Shijun being pregnant before marriage and already having a lover, as a Blood Race Duke who had known Su Shijun for a long ti, Milton wouldn’t easily give up on his past efforts and was still relentlessly pursuing Su Daxu.

Similarly, Prince Tabbot of the Werewolves made the sa decision as the Duke.

That was one of the recent troubles plaguing Su Daxu.

She had thought that by releasing those rumors of premarital pregnancy, both of them might quiet down a bit.

To her surprise, the gossip seed to have spurred them instead, and in recent tis, their gifts and greetings had beco much more frequent.

This situation made Su Daxu consider whether to pull the Little Fox’s “father” into the spotlight and completely sever the Vampire and the Werewolf’s thoughts.

Of course, things couldn’t be rushed, especially since the concerned Warlock hadn’t even reached the status of a registered wizard yet; thrusting him into the lilight too early, without any moves from the Karen or Tabbot families, the judging eyes and gossip of the people alone could drown him.

After briefly letting go of this thought, Su Shijun turned around to see the Little fox lady standing on tiptoes, peering at the Seven-color pansy on the windowsill, her face a mix of regret and curiosity—her fuzzy pointed ears also peeked out from her headband, quivering nervously amidst her black hair.

“Because I was trying to make a wish,” Su Shijun said with a smile, reaching out to scratch behind the Little fox lady’s ears.

Su Ya’s ear tips instantly relaxed in comfort, and at the sa ti, her fluffy tail lost control, slipping out from under the maid’s skirt, twitching involuntarily.

“Ah…

Miss, what wish did you make?!” Su Ya asked, neck retracted, eyes squinting blissfully.

“Hmm, I hope that next ti little Poseidon cos over, he won’t fight with you anymore,” Su Shijun answered without the slightest hesitation, adding, “Of course, you’re also not allowed to tie bows on his tail.”

“What a lovely bow!” Su Ya pouted, her face a picture of sulkiness.

“But you can’t tie it to its tail!” Su Shijun gently tapped the little fox lady’s forehead with her finger, making her nod repeatedly in an extrely well-behaved manner.

After a few taps, Su Ya seed to realize sothing and suddenly exclaid with delight, “Oh my, the legend is true!

The petals of the Seven-Color Flower can grant our wishes!

Miss, the wish you just made ca true!”

Su Shijun paused when she heard this, stunned for a mont before she grasped the aning of the little fox lady’s words.

She couldn’t help but laugh so hard that she bent at the waist.

“We’ll only know the result when Poseidon cos to visit us next ti…

Right now, it’s just you agreeing not to fight with him.” Su Shijun said with a smile, unable to resist ruffling the little fox lady’s head again as she added, “However, as a reward for your amusing discovery, I’ll allow you to make a wish.

Hum, this is the legendary ‘curse,’ I’ll teach it to you…”

When the head maid of Greenhill Mansion finished her work in the garden and returned to the house, what she saw was this scene: a small fox lady kneeling devoutly in front of a potted Seven-Color Flower, hands together and held to her chest, muttering to a purple petal floating in midair.

anwhile, the owner of Greenhill Mansion, an Upper House mber of the Moon Council, leaned against the couch with arms crossed over her chest, watching the little fox with a smiling face, silent.

“Su Ya!

What are you up to again!” The head maid lowered her eyelids and squeezed these words through her teeth.

“Ah!” Startled by the voice, the little fox lady shuddered violently, sprung up with a whoosh, ignoring the purple petal, and slipped down from the windowsill, muttering softly as she slid, “It’s not my fault, not my fault…

It was Miss who asked to make a wish…

I haven’t finished wishing yet…”

By the end of her words, she seed to just realize sothing, stopping abruptly and turning to look in the direction of the Seven-Color Flower.

The purple petal had just turned into a ray of light and vanished into the faint white sunlight.

The little fox lady’s mouth turned down, displaying a look of aggrievent.

“Alright, alright, there are still five petals left on that flower, you can make a wish whenever you want…

Wait a bit, when Su Man is not around, then you can co back quietly to make your wish,” Su Shijun said with a beaming smile as she went over and ruffled the little fox lady’s head again.

Su Ya’s tears imdiately turned into laughter, revealing a radiant smile.

Su Shijun turned her head just in ti to catch the head maid’s dissatisfied look and promptly made a playful face, then cleared her throat softly and asked, “Is there sothing you need?”

The head maid took a deep breath, shook her head, discarding the idea of persuading her young mistress, and bowed slightly, saying:

“There’s a paper crane for you, Miss.”

“It’s from the school.”
