998: Chapter 60 Why Use a Sword as a Symbol 998: Chapter 60 Why Use a Sword as a Symbol “So you’re saying you stood next to our hunting team for ten minutes, and none of our hunters noticed you at all!”

Zheng Qing glanced at Doctor Xiao with a dangerous look, then praised, “That’s impressive…

I had absolutely no idea you were right there…

But why didn’t you just show yourself and help us to reinforce the defense asures while you were at it?”

You guys did well…

The lineup, these runes, the boulders,” Andrew kicked one of the boulders next to Blue Fatty, sighing, “Even if I had shown up, I couldn’t have done more than you.

Plus, it would have ssed with your team’s arrangents.

Besides, lying in ambush, there might be so unexpected gains.”

“It could indeed catch people off guard,” the Blue Giant mused with his chin in his hand.

“But you didn’t wait for any unexpected gains, so why did you suddenly appear?” Zheng Qing ignored the fatty’s muttering to himself.

In fact, he was rather skeptical of the Trishula Commissioner’s thods.

In such a narrow and small-scale battle, if a real fight did break out, the likelihood of him being attacked by both sides after his abrupt appearance was even higher.

But he wouldn’t say such a guess to Andrew’s face.

Hearing his question, Andrew’s expression relaxed considerably, “Oh, Professor An just sent a ssage, Forest Goods Market has been cleared, all those Houdous have been arrested and ready to be handed over to the school’s related departnts…

The Professor will take those Duoni People to evacuate first, and Mr.

Li can evacuate at any ti as well.”

“Aren’t you planning to reinforce the magic circle here?” Zheng Qing frowned.

As a mber of a nation with a strong sense of defending one’s soil, he felt that retreating without a fight was akin to treason, comparable to a certain Committee Chairman.

“There’s no way to reinforce it,” Andrew sighed, “The magic circle around Beta Town was managed by a professional agency hired by the town, specifically, by so professors from First University.

Now, those professors have been dispatched elsewhere by the school, and there’s no way to deal with the trouble here in the short term.”

The reason was sound, but not enough to convince.

“So you plan to let those Mad Hunts, or hungry magical monsters, or whatever else, charge into Beta Town unchecked.” Zheng Qing felt he couldn’t understand the wizards’ choices, “Does the population of Beta Town agree with your decision?”

“Whether we agree or not, doesn’t make any damn difference,” a cold snort arose, and Mr.

Robert Lee appeared as if a ghoul from nowhere next to Zheng Qing, giving him yet another startle.

He felt that his shock threshold was hovering at a high level all day, on the verge of disconnecting at any mont.

“That’s not good,” the fee-paying student muttered ambiguously, protesting both the abrupt appearances of these wizards and the non-resistance of Beta Town.

Commissioner Andrew didn’t mind Mr.

Robert Lee’s attitude, but simply asked, “How are things outside?”

“It’s bad, the Mad Hunts are gathering for a charge, and those big creatures deep in the forest are starting to cross the river one after another.

I rely glanced and saw no fewer than three Chisel Tooths,” Robert replied.

Chisel Tooth is a humanoid monster capable of using human tools, towering nurous feet tall, possessing imnse strength and skin that can resist many magical spells.

It is a type of magical creature even less intelligent and more barbaric than a hill giant.

It is said that, apart from Buji Island, there are no wild Chisel Tooths left in the wizard world anymore.

Having said this, Robert exhaled lightly, adjusting his sour mood, then looked around, “The market is clean now?

What’s the word outside, has there been any announcent?”

“This is an internal notice from the relevant agencies,” Andrew handed Robert a piece of red silk paper, adding, “The committee has already notified each rchant about the related risks; the public security bureau has split into three groups, one is conducting a search throughout the town to ensure no Mad Hunt has slipped in, another is checking the Guardian Arrays in other districts to ensure all other districts’ Arrays are functioning normally, and the last group is outside the marketplace, perfecting the secondary defensive formation.”

Zheng Qing looked up briefly at the Forest Goods Market’s dusky roof tarp and raised an eyebrow.

Perhaps because his mind was occupied, he began to feel that between the interlacing beams overhead, there seed to be a glint of golden Magic Power shimring faintly.

“…Furthermore, Professor An has already escorted the Duoni People out of the North District, and he has inford the school of the situation here,” Andrew paused for a mont before adding, “If things go as planned, the school’s support forces should arrive in town soon.”

Robert Lee pursed his lips, seemingly exerting great effort to suppress a scoff.

“I’m just a small security captain in the North District, there’s not much use in reporting this to ,” he shoved the Law book into his robe, turned to the young cost student, and complinted, “Well done…

You guys follow Andrew and evacuate first, I’ll co shortly afterward.”

Zheng Qing hesitated for a mont, then nodded to his two companions.

The tall Blue Giant, like a deflated balloon, whooshed back to his original form, and his watery blue skin turned pale again.

Zheng Qing suddenly had a thought: the next ti Xin Fat Man transford, should he poke him with a needle to see if it was really just air beneath that skin?

But imdiately, he shook his head, dismissing the ridiculous thought.

Joking aside, he wasn’t Li ng, that girl; why would he make such a low-level move?

Perhaps due to Robert Lee’s less-than-friendly attitude, the atmosphere was sowhat awkward and silent on the way back following Andrew.

Zheng Qing carefully followed behind the Trident Sword Wizard, staring at the Trident Sword symbol on his belt, and suddenly rembered a puzzling question from a long ti ago.

“I was wondering, why does the Mage Alliance’s Investigation Bureau’s symbol use the Trident Sword?” the young cost student broke the silence of the group, asking, “I’ve always been curious, to be honest…

We’re all Wizards, who uses a sword as a symbol?

Or is it that you’re best at using swords?”

Xin Fat Man cleared his throat, hinting that Zheng Qing’s last remark could be misunderstood.

Zheng Qing blinked, and slightly rephrased, “What I an is, are swords your weapon of choice?”

Andrew stopped walking, glanced at the Warlock, as if checking whether he was being provocative.

Zheng Qing quietly swallowed, chuckling awkwardly, “I an to say, as Wizards, we should use wands or Talismans as symbols…

or since we’re all using Law books now, why not use a Law book?

Ha ha.”

The Trishula Commissioner sighed softly and started walking again, leading the team out.

Only this ti, he began to explain as they walked.
