"I’m awake! Mumu hasn’t woken up yet; do you want to talk to her? I’ll wake her up!"

Mu Yichen looked down at the woman leaning against his chest and asked into the phone.

"No need, no need! It’s cold, so let her sleep at ho! Is she in a good mood these days?"

Qin Haiming hesitated before asking the latter question.

"Yes! She’s doing fine! No need to worry!"

Mu Yichen paused slightly before answering steadily.

"That’s good! The roads are slippery this morning, so if you two can stay indoors, do so!"

Before hanging up, Qin Haiming offered more advice.

Mu Yichen did not object, mainly because he truly had no plans to go out.

After hanging up, he lay back down, treating himself and the woman in his arms as two idle people cuddling together, sleeping away the day.

Mu Yichen turned off the projector again, then buried his head and continued sleeping with Qin Mu.

On the phone, Qin Haiming was still worried that Qin Mu might be emotionally affected by the snow. Before falling asleep, Mu Yichen thought about Qin Mu’s reaction last night; everything was normal, with no issues.

Originally, there were no issues, but after watching those car accident scenes, she dreamt of the accident from years ago again after falling back asleep.

Dreaming of her mother lying in a pool of blood.

She recalled how the snow mixed with the flowing blood emitted steam from its warmth...

This nightmare left her feeling as if she had taken a shower and stepped out without drying off, feeling chilled to the bone.

"Mumu! Mumu!"

Mu Yichen sensed her body shaking severely and sweating continuously, realizing she was having a nightmare. Afraid she would stay trapped in it for too long, he quickly called out to her.

Upon hearing his voice, Qin Mu struggled to open her eyes, then dazedly lifted her head, clutching the man beside her tightly.

She said nothing, her throat dry and sore. After swallowing hard, she felt slightly better.

Mu Yichen simply held her, one hand gently pressing down her sorrow, the other cradling her head to prevent panic.

It was unclear when her breathing beca steady, but in the silent space afterward, she spoke in a faint voice.

"I thought I had moved on!"

"It’s okay!"

"Mu Yichen! Love !"

As if trying to forget the nightmare quickly, she looked to him for solace.

Mu Yichen wanted to, but not at this mont. He lightly kissed her forehead: "You’re probably just too hungry! Let make you breakfast! Get up early!"

His voice was gentle, yet there was no indication in his eyes of yielding to her request.

After he got up, Qin Mu felt an instinctive pang of loss—cold, uncomfortable, and deeply empty.

However, she understood that he wouldn’t coax her like a child indefinitely. Qin Mu knew she should have moved past these things long ago, so she got up, buried her face in her hands to calm down for a mont, then got out of bed.

The snow in the neighborhood was cleared quickly, befitting a super-luxurious estate.

Qin Mu stood by the window, gazing down at the ground, which was almost spotless, leaving only so snow on the lawns untouched.

Those grasses seed to need the blanket of frost to ensure they would grow more lushly next year, wouldn’t they?

Qin Mu sluggishly washed up in the bathroom, while Mu Yichen had already prepared all the ingredients in the kitchen and lit the stove.

By the ti she leisurely ca downstairs, Mu Yichen had prepared two dishes and a soup, all neatly placed on the table.

Qin Mu walked into the dining room, watched him focusing on plating, and couldn’t help but stare blankly.

"Our ruthless Mr. Mu cooks pretty quickly!"

Mu Yichen lifted his eyes and saw the mocking, yet amused look in hers. Unbothered, he softly said, "Co have breakfast!"

She truly felt famished, and since he didn’t mind her deanor, Qin Mu walked over, pulled out a chair, and sat down.

Eating was the priority.

On such a cold day, it was essential to start with soup. She eagerly ladled so for herself, then glanced at his empty bowl: "Shall I serve you so soup too?"

"I’ll do it myself!"

Mu Yichen said as he elegantly scooped his own soup.

Holding the steaming bowl, Qin Mu felt that having a warm soup on such chilly days was simply wonderful.

And across from her sat a handso man, from his intricately sculpted features to his beautiful slender hands, each part irresistibly stimulating her appetite.

After their al, neither watched the news. Naturally, Mu Yichen didn’t want to trigger Qin Mu’s unpleasant mories, and Qin Mu, after calling Xiaoi, spent ti sketching on her drawing board beside Mu Yichen.
