Qin Mu dressed beautifully today, the only thing off was her sowhat dispirited face.
When they returned ho, the children were already asleep. Mu Zihao and the old master were in the living room, drinking tea and watching the news. They looked up at the sound of their footsteps.
"Grandpa! Dad! We’re back! Why are you still awake so late?"
Qin Mu asked softly.
"Mm! Just watching the news for a bit longer. Did you two go to Jing Feng’s place?"
Mu Zihao asked her in a lenient tone.
"Mm!"
Qin Mu nodded.
"A bit tired, we’re heading upstairs first!"
Mu Yichen didn’t engage in pleasantries, just said a word to the elders, then casually raised his hand to land on Qin Mu’s waist beside him, naturally holding her as they walked towards the stairs.
The father and son watched the harmonious backs of the couple, subconsciously exchanging a glance, and vaguely smiled, as if their eyes were saying, have they reconciled?
However, just as they turned the corner on the stairs, Mu Yichen let go of Qin Mu’s slender waist, and Qin Mu continued walking, unaffected.
What others thought was no longer their life, in reality, everything was quietly changing.

On the day before the New Year, Mu Yichen and Qin Mu packed their things, bringing the two children, very formally, to Qin Haiming’s place to deliver gifts.
The night was sowhat gloomy, dreary, but it didn’t snow.
Qin Mu was in quite a good mood, especially when the two little ones dashed into the house, she couldn’t help but smile a bit.
The man beside her hadn’t seen her smile in a long ti, and couldn’t help stealing a glance at her.
Qin Mu gave him a slight smile, as unfamiliar and distant as when she first returned to Rongcheng.
Mu Yichen unconsciously paused for a few seconds, staring as she took so things out of the trunk and hadn’t yet co to his senses after.
"You take the rest!"
Qin Mu didn’t bother with formalities, greeted him plainly, and then walked in first with large and small bags.
This grace she thought she had, left Mu Yichen feeling unspeakably uncomfortable, yet he still raised his hand to pick up the remaining gifts.
As soon as his hand ca out of his pocket, it was chilled by the wind, though his heart must not freeze.
Mu Yichen entered last.
Qin Haiming had already greeted his grandchildren, watching them run into his arms, he was overjoyed.
"Grandpa, Huanhuan missed you so much!"
Huanhuan hugged Qin Haiming’s old waist and said.
Qin Haiming looked down at his granddaughter after hearing this, laughing so broadly he couldn’t close his mouth, "Good, good! Grandpa missed Huanhuan too!"
"Chengcheng missed Grandpa too!"
Chengcheng imdiately echoed his sister, though his tone was much slower.
But how could his pure and obedient eyes not be loved?
"Grandpa missed Chengcheng too, I even bought you gifts, want to go open them?"
Seeing the love from his grandchildren, Qin Haiming couldn’t help but want to bring out the gifts early.
Sure enough, the siblings nodded vigorously, eyes full of anticipation.
"How about asking Auntie Wang to take you to get them?"
Qin Haiming coaxed softly.
"Okay!"
The little ones obediently ran off with the auntie to get the gifts.
Qin Mu watched for a while, then sat down on the sofa after they left, "Why did you buy them gifts again?"
"You always bring gifts every ti you co, am I not allowed to buy gifts for my grandson and granddaughter?"
Qin Haiming asked her softly, looking up at Mu Yichen as he walked in from outside.
"Yichen, you’re here too! Not busy lately?"
"Mm!"
Mu Yichen replied, handing things over to another auntie, then sitting down next to Qin Mu.
Qin Haiming looked at the couple’s lukewarm relationship but just lowered his head and smiled slightly.
"You rembering to bring gifts, surely ans you haven’t forgotten those over ten years you spent in Paris, right?"
Qin Mu and Mu Yichen froze, not expecting Qin Haiming to suddenly ntion those days.
But Qin Haiming felt he had to bring it up, because their awkwardness wasn’t just one or two days old. Recently, he’d guessed from outside reports that it might be because of Jian Yan, but he still felt the need to address it.
"How could we forget? You even told back then to take good care of Qin Mu, or I’d be in trouble!"
Mu Yichen said to him.
Qin Mu looked at Qin Haiming in disbelief, then turned her surprising gaze to Mu Yichen.
"You had a terrible temper back then, but seeing as your heart was all about my daughter, I let it slide. But now that Mumu is back, why do I see you as worse than before?"
Qin Haiming asked him again.
"If you’re asking this because of the issues between Qin Mu and recently, then I must ask you, have you been seeing the gossip news these days?"
Mu Yichen was already upset, even more so now, and he lowered his voice to ask his father-in-law.
"Jian Yan has long existed between you two, your problems aren’t because of him!"
Qin Haiming shook his head, telling Mu Yichen.
"Then what is it because of?"
Mu Yichen was puzzled.
"Because of this!"
Qin Haiming pointed at his own chest but was speaking to Mu Yichen.
