Qin Mu helped Xiao Wei into the house, glancing playfully at Mu Yichen. Mu Yichen gave a wry smile, his eyes full of affection, ignoring her as he went to boil so water for her to drink.
——
That night, after the video call with Mu Qingxin, the two of them lay in bed, cuddling together. Qin Mu snuggled to absorb the warmth, muttering softly, "Spring in Paris is still so cold!"
"It’s not like this is your first ti knowing that, and yet you insisted on coming!"
Mu Yichen looked down at her, following her words to remind her.
Qin Mu hugged him tighter, "Mu Yichen, you’re so understanding, it’s really nice!"
"Is that to say I’m not usually very understanding?"
Mu Yichen furrowed his brow and asked softly.
"Hmph! Usually, you’re not the understanding type at all, autocratic, overbearing, and easily jealous. Anyway, when you stubbornly get stuck on sothing, even if I hired eight oxen, I couldn’t pull you back!"
Qin Mu’s hand stroked his chest, feeling comfortable against his skin through his pajamas, her voice turned much softer.
"Hmph! And yet, you still drag around everywhere with you!"
Mu Yichen asked her softly, as if just saying it for her to hear.
"No matter where we go, we’ll be together! But if you’re on a business trip, don’t ask to tag along! I’ll be bored!"
Qin Mu hugged him and then looked up at him, speaking earnestly.
"Is this a case of ’officials are allowed to set fires but commoners are forbidden to light lamps’? You can do whatever you like?"
Mu Yichen slightly turned over, partially pressing her as he asked.
"What? Don’t like it?"
Qin Mu raised an eyebrow, her eyes sparkling.
"You’re rebelling!"
Mu Yichen’s dark eyes gazed at her, his hand giving her a playful squeeze on the bottom.
"Ah! That hurts!"
"Even if it hurts you to death, it wouldn’t be too much!"
Mu Yichen muttered against her lips.
Qin Mu was genuinely afraid he’d squeeze her to death, not knowing why his hands, so beautiful, yet incredibly strong, felt like they could lift her with a flick of the finger.
——
The next day, Mu Yichen indeed went to the work site in Paris, while Qin Mu and Xiao Wei went to the JY Studio.
Everyone was still working in an orderly manner, seemingly accustod to Jian Yan’s absence here.
However, seeing Qin Mu return surprised everyone a bit; seeing Qin Mu and Xiao Wei together at the studio shocked them even more, these two unique Chinese girls truly opened their eyes.
"Hey! Why are all of you looking at us with that kind of gaze?"
Qin Mu waved hello to them and then asked, noticing their looks.
It took everyone a few seconds to react; after all, they were all acquaintances and quickly started working again with laughter.
Qin Mu and Xiao Wei went to Jian Yan’s office. Qin Mu was never one to snoop around soone else’s office, but this ti, she couldn’t help her curiosity and wandered around.
Xiao Wei, easily tired from walking a bit, sat on the sofa watching Qin Mu looking around curiously, wondering what she was looking for.
"Are you still so curious about your ntor’s office?"
"Sotis little details need careful observation to be found!"
Qin Mu replied, already taking a book that Jian Yan frequently read from the shelf. As she turned, her intelligent eyes glanced at Xiao Wei.
Xiao Wei, seeing Qin Mu’s deeply aningful smile, couldn’t help but smile back, understanding Qin Mu was trying to find so clues about Jian Yan’s whereabouts. She sat by quietly, waiting.
"Qin Mu, since you’re here, we happen to be considering a partnership over the next few days. Why don’t you join us for the eting?"
Qin Mu was carefully flipping through the book, trying to find so mark, when a partner knocked on the open door and spoke to the person at the door.
"Sure!"
Qin Mu agreed lightly, then closed the book in her hand and turned to Xiao Wei, "Can you wait here for ?"
"Don’t worry, they’re all very considerate of !"
Xiao Wei reassured her softly.
Qin Mu nodded and then left.
The large office area was still as ssy as before. Qin Mu casually leaned against a desk; soone handed her a docunt.
"This company approached us a month ago, saying their artist wanted our designs. The price we na doesn’t matter, as long as it features JY’s main design. Yet, JY is not here now, and they are pressuring us. If we don’t agree soon, they’ll look for another design company."
The partner explained to her, once again reminding everyone of this important issue.
