That Zhang Hongyun, just one glance and she knew it wasn’t Mu Yichen’s type.
What kind of woman does Mu Yichen like?
Beautiful, gentle, with a strong aura, able to hold her ground, and most importantly, able to hold down Mu Yichen.
That woman, it seems, can only be Qin Mu.
Qin Mu suddenly thought, when a woman falls for a man, the hardest blow isn’t the man’s rejection, but his indifference.
From the mont Zhang Hongyun ca in to deliver coffee, Mu Yichen didn’t even glance at her, aning he simply couldn’t care less.
He wouldn’t be smug just because a girl likes him. Why should she, as his wife, worry?
"Mrs. Mu!"
A familiar voice suddenly ca from behind, Qin Mu turned to look, and when she smiled, her eyes seed to shimr.
"I suddenly thought of sothing."
Mu Yichen suddenly stood up from his chair, with his long legs striding toward her.
Qin Mu was puzzled for a mont, but as he approached, her heart began to race again.
Can this childhood sweetheart relationship, this many years of marriage, still cause weak knees monts?
Qin Mu felt it was a bit unreal, but she couldn’t help but step back a little.
Until Mu Yichen was in front of her, holding her slender waist with one hand, gently caressing her delicate face with the other.
"I suddenly rembered sothing important has been very unsatisfying at ho lately."
His voice was soft, yet it stirred hearts.
Qin Mu looked up, seemingly nonchalant, but her heart was already fluttering.
She didn’t speak, just smiled with a hint of sass.
Mu Yichen didn’t ask her, but his dark eyes vividly expressed what he was about to do.
"Do you know how important this matter is?"
He asked again, his voice still so light, so light that she heard it faintly, but could only nod in agreent, head tilted up.
"That’s good!"
Mu Yichen’s voice beca lighter, and in the next second, Qin Mu was lifted off the ground, cradled in his arms.
Qin Mu gazed at the man carrying her inside, feeling as if beneath his seemingly apathetic exterior, he was stirring her heart to the point she almost forgot who she was.
It was almost ti to get off work, and no one had left the office yet. Zhang Hongyun had been unfocused all morning, glancing at her watch and seeing it was past eleven, then turned to ask Xi ng, "Secretary Xi, should we call President Mu and Mrs. Mu?"
"Call them for what? Oh! You might not be used to it yet, but over ti you’ll get used to it. Our President Mu likes to be with Mrs. Mu in the office..."
Those last few words were left unsaid, but Xi ng was sure Zhang Hongyun could understand with her intelligence.
After listening, Zhang Hongyun lowered her eyes, then suddenly asked, "What about the lunch engagent?"
"Canceled! Between Mrs. Mu and an engagent, Mrs. Mu is always more important. Keep that in mind!"
Xi ng reminded her again, offering advice as soone with experience to the newcor.
Zhang Hongyun felt even more at a loss, staring down at her keyboard, her heart feeling heavy. She thought she should go drink with friends at noon, but then reconsidered, afraid of being laughed at.
"Hmm!"
Zhang Hongyun agreed and didn’t ask anything more, waiting for the end of the workday.
Xi ng, however, continued working diligently but was a bit worried. Surely Zhang Hongyun wouldn’t be so discouraged that she’d resign, would she? Then she would need to find a new assistant, but...
Recently, she hadn’t been using birth control, feeling like she would soon get pregnant. She decided to choose a capable person from a departnt downstairs, soone the more familiar, the better.
Just before noon, as Xi ng and Zhang Hongyun were about to grab lunch, Mu Yichen’s office door opened. The two of them were murmuring sothing softly, with just a few words from Mu Yichen sending Qin Mu into laughter.
Not until they reached their workplace did Qin Mu suddenly beco serious, then looked at Xi ng, released Mu Yichen’s hand, and walked over, "The gift?"
Qin Mu still extended her hand to her.
Xi ng was startled, quickly recalling sothing, then imdiately pulled open her drawer, taking out an exquisite little box containing a particularly delicate perfu she had always wanted to give Qin Mu.
"Last ti you and President Mu went to Paris and brought back so many toys for my daughter, I’ve always wanted to give you sothing in return, I hope the lady boss doesn’t mind!"
