"He sent a gift to my wife?" Leo’s voice dropped lower, each word precise and dangerous, carrying a tone that made the man’s survival instincts scream. "And you waited almost a month to tell ?"

"Sir, I—we were trying to handle it ourselves. We didn’t want to—"

"Where is the gift now?"

"We disposed of it. For safety. We didn’t know if it was—"

"Good." Leo cut him off. "That was the right call."

He turned back to the window, facing the city again. But this ti, the man could see it and he almost shivered.

Leo’s hands. Clenched at his sides. Tight. White-knuckled. The towel hung forgotten, twisted in one fist.

His shoulders were rigid, corded with tension. The veins in his forearms stood out against his skin. He stood perfectly still, but everything about him scread barely contained fury.

The man couldn’t see Leo’s face from here, but he imagined those gray eyes, stormy now. Dark. Dangerous.

The city lights reflected off the glass, but Leo’s reflection showed nothing but shadow and angles and that rigid, terrifying stillness.

"Find him." Leo’s voice was dangerously quiet and controlled. The quiet of a man holding himself back by threads. "I don’t care what it costs. I don’t care who you have to tear apart to get answers. Find him."

"Yes, sir." The man was already backing toward the door.

"And if anything—anything—gets near her again, you won’t live long enough to regret it."

The man fled.

Leo stood alone, staring at his reflection in the dark glass. His jaw tightened until it ached.

At the sa ti, across the city, a very different scene was unfolding.

Hazel’s new penthouse was warm and inviting, the last rays of sunset painting the walls in soft gold. Moving boxes were stacked neatly in corners, but the main living area was already coming together, a comfortable couch, a low table, soft lighting that made everything feel cozy.

"You both are really sweet," Hazel said, looking at Dom and Jason with genuine warmth. "Thanks for your help."

Dom waved a hand dismissively, though his cheeks colored slightly. "It’s nothing. Moving is miserable alone."

"Plus we got pizza out of it," Jason added, already reaching for another slice. "Best paynt system."

Hazel had offered to order them pizza as thanks for helping her unpack and organize. They’d accepted with an enthusiasm that bordered on theatrical. Now the three of them sat around the low table, pizza boxes open, drinks scattered between them.

Currently, they were deep in the comfortable chaos of a shared al.

"Haha, thank God Scar isn’t here," Jason said through a mouthful of pizza, "otherwise she’d have eaten all the slices by now."

Dom nodded vigorously, reaching for his own slice. "She’s a nace at pizza. I’ve seen her eat a whole pizza alone."

Hazel looked between them curiously. "Who’s Scar?"

"Our best friend!" Jason said brightly.

Dom set down his cold drink, wiping his mouth. "Scarlett. She’s been our friend forever. You’d like her, probably. She’s intense but loyal."

"She’s also the one dating Zion," Jason added casually.

Hazel’s eyes went wide. "Zion? Leo’s best friend Zion?"

"The very sa," Jason confird, grinning.

"Zion is in a relationship?" Hazel looked genuinely shocked. "No one told this. I’ve been gone too long, apparently."

Jason shrugged. "It happened while you were away. I’m still shocked that Scar is in a relationship."

Hazel’s expression flickered, a brief shadow of pain at the reminder of those lost years, but she pushed through it. "Tell . What else did I miss?"

Jason leaned forward, clearly delighted to be the bearer of news. "Okay, but first, do you know Alexa?"

Hazel’s face shifted. Sothing colder flickered in her eyes. "Yeah. She used to love Leo. Always tried to please , but I never liked her." She paused, thinking back. "I felt... I don’t know. Like she was fake. Like she wanted sothing from , not genuine connection. You know that kind of girl?"

"We definitely know," Dom muttered.

"Exactly." Hazel nodded. "But I don’t know much about what happened after I left. I didn’t..." She trailed off, a hint of pain flashing in her electric blue eyes. "I didn’t even try to know. I was too lost in my own head."

Dom’s hand moved without thinking.

It landed gently on hers where it rested on the couch. Warm. Solid. Grounding.

Hazel looked at him. Their eyes t.

And she gave him a small, downward smile, shy, genuine, the kind that didn’t hide her scar but didn’t care about it either.

Dom’s breath stopped.

His heart did that thing again. The complicated thing.

Jason, completely oblivious to the mont, plowed ahead. "Okay, so I’ll tell you. Alexa tried to break up Bella and Leo. Multiple tis. It got ugly."

Hazel tore her gaze from Dom, refocusing on Jason. "What?"

"Yeah. She faked things, manipulated situations, tried to make Bella look bad, like a thief. It didn’t work, obviously, because Bella is amazing and Leo is obsessed with her." Jason grabbed another slice. "But then she ended up marrying this guy Archer. Rich. Powerful. Kind of terrifying, honestly."

Hazel’s eyebrows rose. "She married soone else? After all that obsession with Leo?"

"Right? And that’s not even the worst part." Jason lowered his voice dramatically. "She caused her own parents’ accident while running away from her own wedding. Later she realized she needed a cash cow, so now I guess she’s playing obedient wife."

Hazel went still.

"And now?" Jason continued. "She’s pregnant. With Archer’s baby. Living in his house, playing the perfect wife while being absolutely unhinged inside."

Hazel stared at him, processing.

"She’s even more dangerous than I thought," she whispered finally. "I knew she was off. I knew sothing was wrong with her. But this?"

Dom squeezed her hand gently without realizing he was doing it.

Hazel looked at him again. This ti, she didn’t look away.

"People like that," Dom said quietly, "they always show their true colors eventually. You were right to trust your instincts about her."

Hazel’s lips curved slightly. "You think so?"

"I know so."

Jason, mid-chew, looked between them and grinned. "Okay, you two are doing that eye thing again. Should I leave?"

Hazel’s cheeks flushed. "We’re not doing anything."

"Sure you’re not." Jason reached for another slice. "Anyway, more pizza for ."

Dom shot him a look. Jason grinned back, utterly unbothered.
