"Mr. Grindelwald didn’t co to the party...is he injured? Or is he not feeling well?" Moro asked.
Delaine shot him a cold look and said, "That’s not sothing you should be asking, Antoine."
However, Moro wasn’t intimidated by his cold deanor and pressed on, "What are you looking for Vid for?"
"It’s none of your business," Delaine said. "You can go back to drinking."
"No way, you guys asked to take care of him, so I’m his temporary guardian!" Moro stubbornly said. "If you’re looking to trouble soone under my watch, can I just sit back and do nothing?"
Delaine gave him a cold glance, and seeing Vid also staring at him, he pondered for a mont, then finally decided to reveal part of the situation.
"During tonight’s operation, we encountered a counterattack beyond imagination..."
...
Apart from the first day, Vid didn’t participate in the attacks of the Witch Pure Party, but he had to help Moro edit videos every day, so he had a rough idea of what they were doing, even clearer than most participants.
After the island that nurtured the Obscurus was leveled, the person in charge committed suicide, and the Ministry of Magic believed the matter was over, but the escaped Grindelwald disagreed.
He personally led people to capture the subordinates, family, and friends of the person in charge, ticulously going through their mories, and finally discovered the base from which Vid was taken to be attacked that day.
Using the sa thod, they found a second, third, fourth...base, consecutively attacking five of the organization’s bases, only then did they temporarily calm down.
During the attacks, the Witch Pure Party even encountered werewolves and vampires. However, these dark creatures that ordinary wizards feared greatly, had almost no resistance in front of Grindelwald.
These days, it seed the Witch Pure Party had quieted down, but in reality, their activities had beco more covert, and the targets of the attacks began to shift to individuals, albeit those of significant status.
Stars, politicians, tycoons, well-known judges, university professors...many figures Vid was familiar with turned out to also be mbers of that organization.
Vid stood by the bedroom window, more than once seeing familiar faces dragged into the castle like dead dogs, their once immaculate appearances now turning fearful or distorted.
These people not only contributed a large amount of intelligence but also a considerable amount of wealth, one of the reasons for the recent high spirits of the Witch Pure Party.
They also changed their thod of killing, no longer announcing loudly that it was done by magic, but rather using the Imperio curse to make the victim commit suicide after extracting all the intelligence.
Neither Legilincy nor the Imperio curse would leave any marks on the corpses, and even magic could hardly detect the Imperio curse accurately.
Thus, apart from those involved with the organization knowing that their people were disappearing in great numbers, to everyone else, these seed like independent incidents, only lanting the imnse pressure of modern society, with no extra questions raised.
Originally, these operations of capturing a small number of Muggles at a ti weren’t very dangerous, with most challenges arising from avoiding the oversight of others and modern technological surveillance, as well as accurately locating the target.
But in tonight’s operation, the Witch Pure Party encountered an unexpected failure.
Vid followed Delaine, passing through several corridors, descending multiple flights of stairs, finally seeing Grindelwald in a vast basent.
At the sa ti, he saw seven or eight bodies lying on the cold black stone floor. Grindelwald was placing a white cloth to cover that terrified face below.
"Sir," Delaine said. "Vid Gray has arrived."
At that mont, Vid’s gaze was drawn to the object in Vorvillet’s hand beside him.
It was a small crystal bottle, glistening with fine golden light.
