"I’m sorry, you’re still a child, I shouldn’t be telling you these things... Go back and study, and try not to co to the Forbidden Forest for a while."

Afterward, he carried Maurice, who was holding his breath, and strode into the forest.

Vid stood for a mont longer before turning around and heading toward the castle.

Hagrid had vaguely heard the howling of a werewolf earlier, and was standing outside his cabin looking around, holding an axe.

Seeing Vid, Hagrid dropped the axe and asked curiously, "Vid, who were you talking to just now?"

"The werewolf living in the Forbidden Forest," Vid said simply. "I found his child injured."

"Oh... that guy."

Hagrid relaxed, a conflicted expression appearing on his stubbly face.

"What’s the matter?" Vid asked curiously.

"Don’t approach them on your own, Vid," Hagrid said, tugging at his ssy beard. "Of course, Remus is a good person, I quite like him; Lucas isn’t bad either."

"And then?" Vid asked with a smile.

"Well... but Vid, you’re too trusting toward werewolves."

Hagrid bent down, looking at him worriedly, and said, "Most werewolves are extrely violent, especially towards wizards; they don’t have a good impression. In the last war, almost all werewolves sided with the Mysterious Man."

"I understand," Vid sincerely accepted the advice and said, "I won’t approach unfamiliar werewolves casually again."

"That’s good." Hagrid didn’t doubt it, smiling happily at his words. "You could write a paper later, about how to properly distinguish werewolves..."

"Stop it!" Vid made a gesture and asked strangely, "Hagrid, why have you started assigning howork lately?"

Even taking students on "field trips," he made them bring a paper as a "souvenir."

"Oh, it was Professor Kettleburn’s suggestion," Hagrid said. "I’m very worried about you all being unable to pass the OWLs exam, I heard it’s dreadfully hard. Professor Kettleburn said if you write more papers, the knowledge will sohow stick in your mind..."

Vid was speechless.

The two who normally hardly wrote anything actually ca up with a howork law to improve scores—truly unexpected.

He asked, "But Hagrid, isn’t that sothing only fifth-year students need to worry about? We’re only in third year, and you’re already assigning it?"

He enjoyed learning all kinds of magical knowledge he hadn’t encountered before, but writing papers on sothing he had already mastered was a test of his patience Vid didn’t have.

Hagrid scratched his head and said honestly, "Starting to learn early doesn’t hurt."

"It does," Vid said seriously, "If everyone knows there will be a lot of howork in this class, there might not be many new students willing to choose your class next year! Even Hermione can’t stand so many papers!"

Hagrid was stunned: "Really?"

"Of course." Vid nodded.

The Half-Blood Giant fell into contemplation.

Vid quietly left his side and headed toward the castle.

Speak of Hermione, and she appears.

When Vid stepped into the entrance hall, he saw Hermione get bumped into, causing all the books in her arms to scatter.

"Hey!" Hermione shouted angrily.

Pansy, who bumped into her, pretended not to see or hear, quickly walking into the Great Hall with a few other Slytherin girls, only to burst into gleeful laughter.

Hermione’s eyes turned fierce in anger, but she was too busy to retaliate, imdiately crouching down to pick up the books.

Vid quickly approached, waving his magic wand, and all the books on the ground floated up and landed in Hermione’s hands.

The only book left was a thick Magic History, which soone had already picked up.

"Here you go, Granger." Carrel handed the book over.

"Thank you." Hermione took it, then glanced at Vid, reminding him, "Class is about to start, Vid, don’t be late!"

"Mm, I won’t miss the ti." Vid asked, "Why didn’t you put all the books in your bag?"

All the bags of the SSC mbers had been cast with The Undetectable Extention Charm by him, able to hold many books without much weight.

"Oh, I was planning to return these books to the library at the sa ti," Hermione said hastily. "I have to go now!"

The girl hurriedly left, and when Vid turned his head, he found that Carrel had already left at so point.

"Looking for that little sharp tooth just now? He’s left with his girlfriend."

In the portrait hanging on the wall, a character lying across the fra suddenly spoke.

"Griffiths?" Vid looked at the red-haired character in surprise, and then asked, "Girlfriend?"

"I guess so," Griffiths said with a smile. "Although I haven’t heard any news, the two of them are close, and their relationship seems rather unusual."

Vid wasn’t interested in Carrel’s love life, but still warned, "Don’t spread rumors randomly, be careful of complaints from students, or you’d be moved to the Astronomical Tower again!"

Griffiths’s expression beca solemn, making a motion as if zipping his mouth.

After watching Vid enter the Great Hall, he complained to the person beside him, "Youngsters nowadays really have less respect for their elders."

The person in the adjacent painting remained silent, eyes closed in sleep.

Griffiths seed to be quite cheerful talking to himself, saying, "But that’s better; if everyone was always so deferential, it wouldn’t be much fun... Oh, no need to pretend to sleep, I won’t bother you today."

The elderly man with a pointed hat in the neighboring painting seed determined to keep pretending to sleep, without even a hair moving, with only faint snoring proving it was still a portrait in the magic world.

Griffiths’s expression turned a bit lancholy as he retreated to his original place, sitting dejectedly as if transford into a static portrait.

...

Werewolf Lucas hoisted his son onto his shoulder, letting him cling there, while scolding Maurice for being disobedient and getting into danger, striding towards ho.

For so reason, from last night to today, the Forbidden Forest seed to beco suddenly friendly. He slept outside for a night, not in a cave, and not in a constructed nest, yet encountered no danger.

Suddenly, Lucas stopped. Simultaneously, Maurice raised his head, his wet nose sniffing hard, attempting to catch the odd aroma in the air.

"It slls like barbecue, dad," Maurice said pitifully. "I’m hungry."

"Just hold on for a mont." Lucas parted the bushes and cautiously walked towards the source of the sll.

A man lay on the ground, appearing bloodied and battered, with several burns on his body, and his hair nearly burned away.

Lucas carefully recognized him, then froze.

—Isn’t this the one who, a few days ago, asked him about the Acromantula nest? If he rembered correctly, he claid to be a vampire.

Lucas looked back toward Hogwarts, seeing only endless trees and leaves.

He didn’t hesitate much and dragged the man up from the ground. Finding that he was still breathing, he took out a small crystal bottle from his waist pouch, carefully dripping a few drops into the man’s mouth.

Good magic potions always work imdiately. After a while, the man barely opened his eyes, coughing a few tis.

"Hey, Thomas," the werewolf asked. "Negotiations with the spiders didn’t go well?"

"Lucas... it’s good to see you."

Thomas recognized the guide he had previously hired, rose while holding his head, puzzled and dispirited, and said, "The negotiations failed completely... or rather, they were less aningful than we thought—the mbers of the Spider Tribe were far fewer than anticipated."

"Fewer?" The werewolf didn’t get it, rembering seeing countless spiders when he passed by the spider nests not long ago.

He was about to ask when the vampire across from him suddenly made a "don’t talk" gesture.

Both fell silent, Maurice remaining completely still.

Then, they heard a chaotic, shuffling of footsteps approach and finally stop.
