On the table, there were unfinished books, along with bookmarks made with feathers from a Hippogriff. The bed was adorned with a Puffskein plush toy and a teddy bear, and she needed to roll up the poster of a scenic landscape occasionally waving on the wall.
Mabel originally thought she hadn’t lived here for long and her luggage should be minimal. But as she packed, she realized that there were so many traces of her life left here already.
Thankfully, the suitcase in her hand had been cast with The Undetectable Extension Charm by Vid, expanding its space threefold, allowing her to fit everything inside without feeling heavy.
Mabel finally picked up the photo fra from the table.
It was an afternoon during a Hogsade weekend when Vid, Harry, Michael, and others all ca to Lupin’s ho to play. Vid brought his cara and took a bunch of photos for everyone; this was a group photo among them.
Mabel, unfamiliar with the others at first, planned to be the one taking photos for everyone. But Michael pulled her onto the sofa.
So in the photo, the girl sitting in the middle had a surprised yet shy smile on her face, surrounded by several vibrant young wizards.
Lupin was in the back, arms spread wide on the sofa’s backrest, as if trying to protect everyone under his wings.
Looking at the photo, Mabel couldn’t help but smile, then carefully placed it inside the suitcase’s compartnt.
She finally glanced around the bedroom she had lived in for several months, feeling that every corner carried many wonderful mories.
The girl’s eyes showed reluctance, but it was quickly replaced by relief and joy. She put on her hat, lifted her suitcase, and walked briskly down the stairs.
The sofa in the living room looked exactly like the one in the photo, with Vid and Lupin sitting there chatting.
"Going to Privet Drive tomorrow?" Vid asked.
"Yes, Sirius hasn’t been able to make ti lately, but Harry still has to stay with the Dursley Family for two more weeks."
Lupin sighed and said, "They’re on so ’diet plan,’ but I suspect they truly want to starve Harry. If I don’t go, he’s basically only eating grass each day."
It sounded quite miserable, but Vid couldn’t help but laugh.
"Doesn’t Harry have money? He can buy his own food. Why should he suffer like that?"
"Harry spending his own money shopping? That would drive the Dursleys crazy! They are honestly the most unreasonable Muggles I’ve ever seen, with house rules stricter than a church."
Shaking his head, Lupin said helplessly.
Just as he finished speaking, he heard footsteps coming from the stairs. Turning, he saw Mabel in a ruffled blouse and a light green pleated skirt, coming down from upstairs, looking fresh and lovely.
Lupin stopped speaking abruptly, watching this child who he almost regarded as his daughter finally ready to leave, filled with unwillingness in his eyes.
"Mabel, have you packed everything?" Vid asked.
"Of course." Mabel smiled at Lupin and said, "Remus, thank you for taking care of all this ti."
"It’s nothing," Lupin whispered, "Take care of yourself over there... You know you’re always welco back, this place will always be your ho."
"Hmm."
Mabel nodded vigorously, sniffed, and stepped forward to hug Lupin.
"Goodbye, Remus," she choked out quietly.
Lupin gently stroked the girl’s smooth hair, advised, "Keep in touch... If anyone bullies you, tell imdiately."

The carriage wobbled as it left Hogsade, and Mabel turned back, watching the pointed-roof house grow more distant, finally unable to stop a few tears from falling.
Vid handed her a handkerchief, speaking gently, "You know, you don’t actually have to rush to leave."
"I’m afraid the longer I stay here, the less willing I’ll be to leave."
Wiping her tears, Mabel tried to show a smile, saying, "Besides, I have to start adapting to a normal life!"
Vid sighed inwardly, remained silent, his thoughts returning to two weeks ago.
After separating from Obscurus, Mabel’s weakened body couldn’t recover imdiately. Madam Pomfrey gave her two bottles of Magic Potion each day, and Dumbledore even had Fox co once.
The gold and red Phoenix, upon seeing Mabel, gracefully dropped two tears to help her recover physically.
Vid hadn’t seen the separated Obscurus anymore, as it was packed into Scamander’s suitcase that day. Rumor had it Dumbledore and Scamander have been studying the thing for so ti now.
On the third day, urged by Hayley’s adoptive parents, the two sisters had to say their goodbyes, and Lupin sent the little girl back ho.
On the seventh day, Scamander checked again, confirming that the dark powers of the Obscurus had completely disappeared from Mabel’s body.
But in parallel, Mabel seed to have lost her magical power.
She had learned quite a few basic spells before, but now when she picked up her Magic Wand, she couldn’t cast magic like a Dud. Occasionally, the wand’s tip would only emit a few sparks.
Dumbledore contacted the Ministry of Magic, and many Ministry officials ca and went, nearly flattening a layer of stones on Lupin’s front path. Finally, two days later, Mabel’s pursuit was canceled.
Imdiately afterward, there were overwhelming reports in the Prophet Daily, with headlines like "Unprecedented Breakthrough," and "First Cured Obscurial" and the like.
