For instance, a few days ago, soone was saying that Dumbledore was hiding an army in the school, preparing to attack the Ministry of Magic.
So when she heard about the Basilisk, she didn’t pay much attention, assuming it was just a Fantastic Beasts that had run into the castle from the Forbidden Forest.
But now, seeing the Basilisk appear before her eyes, she had no choice but to believe it.

Cecily’s expression changed slightly once more, feeling that it was absurd.
A student raising a Basilisk... When did Hogwarts beco so open? Such a thing wouldn’t be allowed even at the most tolerant of Dark Magic schools, like Durmstrang.
No wonder Dumbledore insisted on dealing with this before the people from the Ministry of Magic arrived.
If those Aurors saw the Basilisk... it’s likely the entire Hogwarts would be implicated, possibly even shutting down imdiately.
Thinking of this, Cecily couldn’t help but look up at the giant creature in the room.
This was her first ti seeing a Basilisk, a legendary Fantastic Beast.

Dumbledore and Kael’s voices rang almost simultaneously.
