The D.A. etings are for learning Defense Against the Dark Arts, not an audition for the Headless Knight Club, so there’s no need to hide your head away.
"No, no, no, you misunderstood." Fred quickly said, "This is our new product, made overnight yesterday."
"We call it the Anti-Curse Cap," George said. "Its function is simple: it can block a curse attack once."
"Honestly, given the current situation, having a cap like this is quite necessary."
"It can save lives at critical monts."
Their solemn words made Cedric a bit hesitant.
"If it is really as good as you say, why not sell it directly?
"Just like before, demonstrate its functionality in front of everyone, I think many people would buy it."
"We tried this morning, but the reaction was so-so." Fred sighed, "Maybe the price is a bit high, people don’t particularly trust our products."
"Expensive?" Cedric froze for a mont.
At least until now, nothing at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes has exceeded five Galleons, this price shouldn’t make many people hesitate.
"Yes, we priced it at fifty Galleons." George said.
Cedric promptly covered his mouth, barely preventing the pumpkin juice he had just drunk from spraying out.
Fifty Galleons?
This price is almost a month’s salary for a typical Ministry of Magic employee, not many people at Hogwarts can afford it.
"No choice, this is already the lowest price." Fred let out a sigh.
"We used dragon skin, actual dragon skin," George said, "though not completely, but it’s definitely worth the money."
"So we need soone more famous to help advertise this cap."
"Speaking of which, it’s strange..."
At this ti, Fred suddenly turned to look at Kael nearby, "Why can your costly items be sold so easily, I rember your necklace made of a Fire Dragon Tooth sold for a hundred Galleons."
"Because the buyer was a Slytherin." Kael shrugged, "They aren’t short on money."
"Let’s forget about it." George shook his head, aningfully saying, "They probably also aren’t worried about attacks from Death Eaters."
"Let’s continue discussing the advertisent..." The two once again looked at Cedric.
"If you could wear it, maybe more people would want to buy it."
Being one of the shareholders of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, Cedric hesitated for just a mont before agreeing.
"I can, but this feather has to be replaced, it’s too ugly." He said, "And I have to test the cap’s effects."
"No problem with that." George imdiately put on the cap, "You attack..."
"Petrificus Totalus!"
He hadn’t finished speaking when a spell directly fell on him, and George flew backward, landing on the ground.
But he was not petrified and quickly stood up.
"Hey, Kael, you should have given a heads up." He complained.
"This way, the test results are better, aren’t they?" Kael said.
He looked at the top of George’s head; the cap had already cracked from the middle.
"Can only be used once?"
"It mainly depends on the power of the spell." Fred explained sowhat regretfully, "A stronger spell can only be resisted once, but if soone else casts it, it would be fine."
"Don’t forget, Death Eaters are all adult wizards, and none of them are weak." Kael said, "Just take Barty Crouch Jr., when he graduated, he had twelve certificates."
"What? A Death Eater had twelve certificates?" George, no longer concerned about the cap, exclaid in shock, "Isn’t that the sa as Bill and Percy?"
"Exactly." Kael said, "In Hogwarts’ history spanning fifty years, only the three of them achieved twelve certificates.
"Also, why are you so surprised? Those picked by Voldemort and recruited under his command couldn’t be fools."
"Like that Peter Pettigrew?" Fred asked.
"He’s rather special." Kael shook his head, "And even among Death Eaters, Peter isn’t well-liked."
"Alright." George said, while tearing off a plate-sized piece of leather from the cracked cap.
"Is this dragon skin?" Cedric asked.
"Yes, bought from Hogsade, extravagantly expensive." George nodded and said, "However, to allow the cap to resist spells, the magic text must be engraved on dragon skin. If it’s ordinary fabric, upon contact with a spell, the cap would beco shattered due to the impact transferred to the magic text, rendering it useless for resistance."
Looking at the dragon skin in their hands, Kael pondered for a mont and said, "Have you considered making it into a disposable item... Remove all those power-reducing magic texts and replace them with a ’charge’ talisman, using a more brute thod to counteract the spell effects."
"By doing this, the dragon skin needed would be significantly less."
"Head-on collision?" Fred pondered, "But that way, you can’t distinguish the type of spell, even a casual Scouring Charm would trigger the defense chanism."
"And ’charge’ itself is unstable. Once triggered, the dragon skin would be directly destroyed."
"But it’s cheap." Kael smiled, "This kind of talisman isn’t big, only requires a fifth of your piece of dragon skin and the cost would be greatly reduced."
